  1. Running the ball well. Cad Mays has been very solid the last few games at LG. Gabe Jackson at RG (should have started instead of Nash who got beat bad twice to start the game) Threat of run + better blocking gives Bryce time. We had a hot answer for the blitz. Notice how often Bryce extended the play and then straight up made play. Notice how often we have stacked set and MOTION!!!! It's a lot of things but the huge difference is play at guard and the running game.
  2. These are the joys in my life. 1a. Panther win. 1b. Falcons lose. Double the job when the Panthers beat the Falcons.
  3. We should have went for the TD, scored, then did nothing but blitzes on defense to show the entire NFL the Panthers are the Alpha.
  4. Every win this year has been Bryce leading us on a game winning drive. Clutch.
  5. Defense. Brown. Honorable mention on D - Burns has a really good game. Luvu and Jackson also played well. Offense. Bryce. Looked very confident. Had some of those wow plays I saw earlier in the year. Honorable mention on O - Chubba. Chark. Mays played well at LG and Gabe Jackson was solid despite some penalties.
  6. Exactly why I put little stock in any combine or pro day.
  7. Which worked perfectly if the RB doesn't just fall down. How is that the wrong call? You can't run it on every 4th and 1. ie. Look at the run from 1 yard out from Sanders that got stuffed for a loss. I'm more pissed with the playcall on 2nd down and goal where slow as hell Thielan running an zig route was your only option.
  8. He didn't throw at the combine because he was too bloated with food and water to get his weight up. He threw at his pro day because he didn't have to weigh. All the stuff pre-draft is just to posturing to put yourself in the best light. I think the combine is borderline useless compared to a kids college career.
  9. Watch Bryce fall off on the throw. He chucking and ducking. No follow through causes lack of accuracy and the ball to float. He's been to the point in the last few games where he's expecting to get hit all the time and does this a lot.
  10. Your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired. I just said it was a combination of SCHEME, PRESSURE and WR's not getting separation. Christianson, Corbett, Zavala, Thorkmorton, Mays, Toth, McCray, Jenson We are starting our 3rd/4th string guards. Icky getting beat on speed rushes to the outside are 100% on him. A LT has to be able to play on an island. If you're good with that and think the oline if fine, then I've got a deal for you on a great bridge for sale.
  11. You have no idea how to analyze stats. Stats lie and liars use stats. That because you have to look at them in context. For instance, it's a combination of scheme, pressure, and WR not getting separation. I've watched the all-22 film of more than half the games and the biggest reason Bryce holds onto the ball waaaay to long is no one is open. A stat is going to tell you an average in this context. Go watch the All-22 film and watch each play and then try to assess why it failed.
  12. Have no problem admitting that but I wonder what happens if a guy has bad footwork and one of the bottom 5 pass blocking lines in the league. I'm not leaving Bryce blameless. He has played badly but it's not all on him and it very difficult to see what can be corrected and improved and what is just something he can't do because almost every aspect of the offense except Moton has played badly or very inconsistent. It's the NFL. It's never just one thing. Bryce can get better with a different system and personal. We are never going to do well starting bottom of the barrel guards every game and Icky getting beat on nearly every speed rush when he doesn't have help. Add in Bozemen who has allowed 7 sacks and there is plenty of blame to go around. A WR core who are tops in the league in not being able to get open also contributes. The offensive scheme too. It all goes together. Each one helps or hurts the rest. When the collection as a whole is bad it's not just a Bryce thing. It's beyond a cliche to say a QB gets to much credit and too much blame and that is because most fans don't understand how all the parts interact and effect the other parts.
  13. Bryce has had not problem with arm strength today. We took a number of shots downfield. In fact, he's had more zip on his ball today than usually. Today it's been more his accuracy when he does have any time to throw. He constantly gotten less accurate because of his poor footwork. That is largely on the pass protection or lack thereof. He's ducking right after releasing the pass on medium to long throws. Move Icky to guard and draft/sign another stud guard. With the exception of Icky not getting a hand on speed rushers from the outside the problem is the push up the middle. Nash had an awful game at RG. I really can't wait to see Bryce in a different set of circumstances next year. I still have a lot of faith. Keep pounding. Always.
  14. Oh my bad. I guess I missed Icky still whiffing on speed rushes and WR getting wide open or us running a completely different offense. Bryce has not risen to make his team better at all. He has looked worse and worse the last few games. No question but you can't show up to a gun fight with a knife. When that happens and he still plays like this, then I'll call him a bust.
  15. Call on 4th was a good call, Bryce made the right read. RB just fell down. How can it be a bad call when it worked exactly as it should at every part except for the RB falling down?
  16. That is the kind of crap that always seems to happen to bad teams. Completely missed block for a punt block/TD. Critical 4th down and 1 and receiver is open but falls down.
  17. Saints putting 6 on the line and we still running it down their throats.
  18. Why. What has really changed? We are actually running the ball so we are actually somewhat in games but other than that the circumstances are still the same as they were to start the season. Line still can't block, WR still has trouble getting open except now Bryce is gun shy. Only so much you can do in season with pretty much the same offense. We could still win today and have the Falcons and Bucs at home. Packers are at Panthers too but have gotten much better than they were earlier in the season.
  19. Saints bring 6 on blitz and we pick it up but Iggy gets shredded on a speed rush.
  20. And they kept 7 in to block and Chubba chipping on Iggy's man. Only way to throw deepish.
  21. Protection, separation, great throw....nice. I like it. Almost exact same play that Mingo got a huge gain on a few games ago.
