The kool-aid is poison!
-
I don't know if I've every heard someone use the word, "Propaganda" and not mean it in a negative context. The same goes for phrases like "agents of the organization" or "drinking the kool-aid". Even if you're not, it comes across as negative and insulting to Stew. He's never been the type of person to be critical of individuals. Just not his style. Doesn't mean he's trying to pull a fast one, mislead you, or outright lying. Should employees of the Panthers be objective when interacting with fans? Is that even reasonable?

No, both instances of references to the defense were specific to the run defense. I should have said "run defense" the 2nd time. You admit there has been ample personal issue but then use those stats to support your argument. I'm not arguing on the effectiveness of his specific scheme overall. I'm saying he is only now getting the proper personal to run his scheme. The stats are the stats and while I don't disagree with any of what you're saying, 3 years of those stats are based on the Panthers front office not giving him the tools to run a competitive NFL defense until this year with D. Brown getting healthy and the additional of Tre'von Moehrig. I want to see his defense when we don't have multiple key starter positions manned with players who would IMHO are not starting level players. With some talent I say all this while not being a big fan of his scheme. I would prefer a 4-3 but that's neither here or there. And yes, I would call getting requests and interviews from other teams who want to hire him good evidence that he may be a pretty good DC and has a lot of potential as a HC. In 2022 he had HC requests from the Broncos, Colts, and Texans. He also had requests for DC from the Vikings, Falcons and the Panthers. We hired him to be our DC. In 2023 it was the Falcons, Raiders and Seahawks for a HC position. In 2024 the Falcons, Seahawks and the Panthers interviewd him for HC. We blocked the Jags from a DC interview. In 2025 (which is this years hiring cycle) so far its the Falcons, Raiders and just today the Steelers, all for the HC position.

That was funny.

J-Stew is an ex-panther who is a huge fan of the team and also on the pay role. He also knows these guys personally. Is it good marketing? Propaganda? An opinion? His argument in a court of law? I think the real question is what the fug does it matter?

Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panthers History
Loyalty4Life replied to dep's topic in Carolina Panthers
Those are not hushed whispers. It's open mocking and implied ridicule because of how myopic most of your posts are. I don't see even the biggest Bryce fans unable to see issues Bryce has to continue to work on. No one has said they are ready to give me a long term franchise contract, yet those that should not be named are 100% sure, hand on the bible facts that Bryce is the worst ever. That anyone that sees progress, improvement or a version of Bryce that could become that franchise QB are morons and it's impossible for there to be an validity to possibility. If one side of a discussion is extremely dogmatic on every single point it's hard to have a legitimate or good faith argument. -
He was the DC of the worst run defense in NFL history. Why? A. He's not very good and could in fact be horrible if the facts are worst defense = worst DC. or B. He did not have the personal to run a proper NFL defense. The context is the cupboard was pretty bare when he got here and we focused on the offense and basically put the defense on the back burner. If A is correct, then explain why last year and this year so many other teams are trying to poach him for a DC or head coach position. Square that circle for me.

Context.

The "facts" of his limitations are severely overblown. I think Bryce is going to be elite. Pick your jaws up. I'll qualify. I don't "know" that he will reach that status and if forced to give him a contract now I would not. He has up to 2 years to continue to grow and prove he can consistently play at a high level.

He's Cyclops brother in the X-Men.

I agree with the general opinion on Scott. I'd like to add the years of bad drafting and management left us with pretty bare. I'm actually think we over achieved with lesser talent at lb and fs and young players all over. Heck, every single draft pick from this year contributed significantly.

No team hits on every pick. Every coach and GM will eventually get fired. We are a better team and have greatly increased the talent on the roster. Bad GMs lead to losses. I love the teams current setup in the front office and the process in how we look at talent and coaching. Canales has often said we want to have a player developmental philosophy as a core tenant. I love that combined with cutting edge analytics and good football knowledge and experience.
-
Tackle is now a top need and was already a need with Moton's age. Canales will want to continue to be strong in the trenches as that's what we seem to be building it from. Proctor from Bama or Lomu from Utah are two quality prospects. This could turn out to be a weird best case as we could end up with a better pass protector at LT and move Icky to RT.

Find me a coach who has never drafted a bad player. I'd venture to guess he also had a hand in getting Nic Scourton and other good draft picks we've made on defense. Are you talking about the middle of the pack defense of 2022 when we fired Rhule and Snow? Are you talking about Evero's first two years where we largely ignored improving the defense in any significant way? You're comparing starting over with a different and new defensive scheme as the same as how the Rhule/Snow era ended. That a horrible comparison. You really think this current defense is on par with our 2022 defense? Even if you do, would you rather have the 2022 defense to build on or this one?

It seems the Panthers have earned their respect back
Loyalty4Life replied to LegioX's topic in Carolina Panthers
Point differential in 2024 was -193. This year we improved to -70. In 2025 Rams are +172 but we beat them once and barely lost to them in the playoffs. Stats are facts but conclusions drawn from them are not. You need context. Yes, we very much need to keep improving and will do just that as long as we don't listen to the Huddle and pull the plug in the middle of building something special. We have a team that is tough as hell. A QB, who despite his small size, stands tall in the face of pressure. Physically and mentally. You can see that leadership and environment that Canales is building. The front office is actually a unit. The team has bought in completely. The talent level has grown and improved. We have a rich owner who is not afraid to spend money on the team. We are a young team and have had to fight back from the worst years in franchise history. I'm damn proud of this team and the future is looking brighter and brighter.
