I hear you, and I mostly agree but at the same time…everything out there isn’t a “smokescreen” either. I’ve heard that word more times then I’ll probably ever need to up to this point lol.
It ultimately comes down to the reporters saying the information and their reliability, imo. I believe the Travon Walker #1 pick murmurs started around this time last year and everybody called it a smokescreen then too.
I think in our case specifically there’s less reason to go out of our way and ‘smokescreen’ because we don’t really have anybody to deceive at #1. It just feels like a case of national media and the murmurs in local media converging.
