I hear you, and I mostly agree but at the same time…everything out there isn’t a “smokescreen” either. I’ve heard that word more times then I’ll probably ever need to up to this point lol. It ultimately comes down to the reporters saying the information and their reliability, imo. I believe the Travon Walker #1 pick murmurs started around this time last year and everybody called it a smokescreen then too. I think in our case specifically there’s less reason to go out of our way and ‘smokescreen’ because we don’t really have anybody to deceive at #1. It just feels like a case of national media and the murmurs in local media converging.

I do feel like I should mention that while the Bryce smoke seems to have leveled up in the past week or so, Joe Person first made mention of a buzz building around Bryce to Carolina in his article about the Owner's Meetings a few weeks ago. So this doesn't seem random too me nor do I think it's some long drawn out smokescreen to try and get Houston to trade up.

Man some people on here sound legit angry that it might be Bryce lol. I get that he might not be your first choice and the height/weight criticisms are valid but some of the vitriol is insane to me. Any of these guys could bust, and any of them could be superstars. We just gotta hope that the guy we choose is a superstar.

Yeah your second to last point is something that I’ve been thinking about recently. They really don’t have to do a bunch smokescreens because they’re picking at 1. Reich even said as much in one of his pressers. I personally believe the closer we get, the more legit info starts to leak out because again, what good does a smokescreen really do for them?

Yeah, I’ve seen the Leaky Faucet person say that and again — just as somebody who’s been spectating for a while — I don’t think their track record has been nearly as good as the Crown and Claw person. Not trying to stir the pot or anything, just an observation.

Which inside source would that be? Because as a spectator on here for a while the most accurate person on this board has been The Crown and Claw person and I don't think they've said anything one way or another. Every other 'source' on here usually just says really vague information. The Crown and Claw at least has been direct with names and what not.
