That was always B.S. from people who actually didn't watch those games! *(ahem) Cowherd*
-
Pierce has been useless these first two games.
-
Joe Brady ended up being pretty awful as well.
-
I thought this Houston D was supposed to be improved. But "hot knife through butter" comes to mind.
-
Is Will Anderson even playing, I don't see his name in the Box Score. I can't watch the Houston game.
-
Maybe the Colts were gonna be good no matter who the QB was gonna be this year?
-
Well, I hope CJ puts together a good game today, despite the fact he's playing from behind and they can't seem to stop Gardner.
-
Yeah, but a crappy way to have to start your career. Can't believe all these o-linemen got injured from the start.
-
I think we will. He has his first game out of the way. He'll be good. I gotta believe.
-
His o-line was ALREADY depleted before this. Ouch...gonna be a rough day for CJ, unfortunately.
-
I will get WAY too excited if SC beats GA.

With experience, I feel like Mays will be great. Keep in mind after we drafted him, we knew Austin Corbett was gonna be one of the guards and had a good idea Christensen was switching to the other. So Mays was fairly limited his rookie year. He'll probably make some mistakes (we know Ickey sure did early on), but with patience I think he'll succeed.

FSU trying to hang on by the skin of their teeth.

As long as there's no more o-line injuries, I thin we'll be fine...still this blows!
-
I hate to be a broken record, but Seattle has cut Holton Ahlers once again. They're treating this guy like a yo-yo.
-
That's some concentration right there.
-
Isn't Slater injured a lot? Truth is our o-line picks have worked out well last couple of drafts. In fact, I feel good about Christensen at LT should the need arise. When Horn is healthy, he's awesome. We just need to keep a special stretcher ready on the sideline with his name on it.

HEAVENS TO BETSY, LOOK AT THESE WIDE-OPEN RECEIVERS

1st panel: obvious choice is the TE and looks like he would have gotten some yardage. If you look closely at the edge of the frame, one of out WR is about to pass his defender. 2nd: clearly Thielen. His closest defender isn't even facing his direction. 3rd: nobody looks open. 4th: clearly the guy in the flat at the bottom of the screen. Nobody close. 5th: maybe TMJ is "bait", but give it a second to develop, otherwise check down. -
Simms is continuing this narrative that we have a bad o-line. First Take said the same last week. I'm getting a little annoyed by this. The line looked good yesterday...like it did most last season. We get it, the line made some uncharacteristic mistakes in the 2nd preseason game, but c'mon!
-
CJ Stroud played even better than I thought. Watching the highlights, his O-line was awful against the Ravens pressure (although CJ's rating actually went up during blitzes) and their running game was crap. However, CJ converted a LOT of 3rd down with clutch passing. I think he will be fine in Houston. But that line needs to make sure they don't get him injured. Made our line look like the Great Wall of China today.

See...THIS is why rookie QBs should play more in preseason. Obviously, I don't want them to get hurt, but the longer they play against another team in a meaningless game, the more comfortable they can be finding the right chemistry. After watching the highlights, I don't think this is all on the receivers. Bryce seem to throw too quickly at times when he didn't need to...then sometimes held on too long. But I know he'll adjust and get more comfortable.
-
Sadly, that happens when two play against each other. I have a feeling Atlanta's gonna lose a lot of games this season.
-
Seems like the Defense was very good through most of the game. Typically even great defenses will break if the offense doesn't produce. But hey, this looks to be a marathon rather than a sprint.
-
Hey...Burrow had a bad day too. IOW, I don't think we can judge just yet from this game. Even the coaches know they have to adjust.
