  2. So here's what's curious: In the most recent press conference, Tepper said regarding the #1 pick, there's been "clarity since the combine". This would explain why they pulled the trigger on the trade after observing the QBs at the combine. But the one QB who DIDN'T throw at the combine was Young.
  3. Wow. There's already 11 pages on a post created an hour ago. All I know is Kurt Warner broke down one of Stroud's worst games and show how good CJ was at reading defenses and going through progressions quickly, making the right decisions. This info comes out a week before the draft? Gee, I wonder why?
  4. I read this article yesterday and it seems like a steaming pile of feces. Kinda like mudslinging in politics. If they prefer Young over Stroud, fine. But don't unfairly rub this 21 year old kid's face in the mud and try to ruin his reputation.
  5. I hope Young is all he's cracked up to be. But whoever gets CJ is going to be very happy...and lucky.
  6. He was great in the SEC championship. Heck, I was impressed with him in his loss to Tennessee. Hendon Hooker looked amazing and put up ridiculous stats...but it was obvious to me Young was the better all-around QB.
  7. Believe me, if Young gave the same performance in the National championship that CJ did in the Peach Bowl, I'd be right there with you. For all our sakes, I hope you Bryce fans are right. If the Panthers choose him, I would be ecstatic to be wrong. All I want is for Carolina to win.
  8. Hmm...a matter of perspective. I happen to think the Rose Bowl and the Peach Bowl are Stroud's biggest games. Brilliant in both. The only "excuses" here are coming from you.
  9. Dude, of course. You're really harping on those Michigan games. I feel bad for you...I really wish Young played better in the National Championship when he had the chance. Then you'd have a better argument. Frankly, I'd feel better too if that was the case.
  10. Watching the games. Who stepped up in their biggest games. Even RG3 mentioned Stroud's chip.
  11. You better freaking hope Young does have the chip you describe. I don't think he plays that way. I know Stroud does.
  12. Absolutely not! He's been celebrated as the "best player" in college football for 2 years. Hyped up since high school. He's been handed multiple awards. And when he does disappoint (like not winning a National Championship), people make excuses for him. Any chip on his shoulder won't be the size of Stroud's...especially if the Panthers pass on him.
  13. Meh, I haven't accepted it yet...but am preparing for it. Not only do I think Stroud will be the best of this class, but he'll have one heck of a chip on his shoulder.
  14. That is very true. I also forgot to mention, Corral is also downright deceitful with his play-action. Often fooling the camera.
  15. Corral is accurate, mobile, and a fiery competitor. I think he'll make a great QB for some team willing (or forced due to injury) to play him. Probably won't be us though.
  16. PS: Who still had 40 TDs last year? Young had 32, 36 if you count TD runs. Still great but...
  17. Why does that make a difference? He could have just said their offense is the best he ever faced. But made it a point to mention Corral by name. You don't think he's also thinking about the number of times Matt eluded Anderson's pass rush? Watch the tape.
  18. To say Bryce's bad games were better than CJ's bad games is kind of eye-rolling. I know CJ didn't throw 2 interceptions, let alone a pick-six in the Peach Bowl against Georgia. In post season play, Bryce Young has thrown 9 TDs and 3 interceptions. That's pretty good, I guess, for a guy who plays for Alabama. In post season play, CJ Stroud has thrown 10 TDs to 1 interception. So, who had the better bad game seems less important than WHEN they have a bad game.
  19. Foer me, it's Stroud, Young...then everyone else.
  20. Will Anderson did say Matt Corral was the best QB he played against...but, technically, Anderson never played against Young (except practice of course). I like MC a lot. I hope he gets a chance somewhere.
  21. Yeah...and then there's the National Championship Game. But we have excuses for his performance there too, apparently. I always treat excuses with a bit of skepticism. People made excuses about why Jedavian Clowney wasn't as productive his final college year but should still be picked over Khalil Mack. The good news for me is I just now watched Kurt Warner's review of Bryce Young and feel a little more encouraged.
  22. Anyone wanna ask themselves WHY a QB who plays for Nick Saban...WHY a QB who plays for a team that's perennially favored to win the National Championship...WHY a QB who is surrounded by 4 and 5 star players...WHY a QB who should have a top OL, receivers, running game and defense...WHY a QB who is so celebrated...WHY did he have to run out of the pocket and extend so many plays? Mac Jones didn't have to do that to win a National Championship. It's nice that Young can do these things, I worry that he's just not comfortable staying in the pocket.
  23. Yeah nothings a "done deal" yet. It's weird...it's like these guys have some agenda with trying to predict who the Panthers will pick. Maybe even trying to influence the decision. Are they betting on the outcome or something. Look, it's clear to me Stroud is the right choice. But if it's true that the Panthers are selecting Young, I hope and pray I'm wrong about Young and he's as special as everyone seems to think.
