The one chink in our armor,
the only weak link,
our one weakness...
It's been going on for years, now. It's been talked about ad nauseum. We've been hoping someone would take KKs job ever since we got him, Rod especially!
RBA wants a new 2 so bad, all it takes is a stiff breeze for KK to find his ass on the bench.
ETs been searching high and low, turning over every rock to find a replacement.
Literal gallons of digital ink has been spilled bemoaning our kryptonic quagmire. And, none of it has gotten us anywhere.
Centers don't grow on trees (they're actually tubers, if you were curious) and the teams lucky enough to have more than one are loathe to part with them.
Why not grow our own? DIY is all the rage, now. And, we just so happen to have a forward prospect in desperate need of an NHL roster spot.
At 5'11" 172 lbs, he's got a bit more size than some of our other options, with the frame to add more. A natural goal scorer that would fit in most teams top 6.
I have to imagine that the team will give him every opportunity to win the job in camp. The only way I can see Nadeau spending another year in the AHL is if he's learning a new position.
You could be on the something, maybe that's why no offer sheet to up and coming 2c Rossi

8 years when that isn't possible after this season plus 500k per season of deferred money which also isn't possible after this season with the new CBA rules.

Rossi and management are at an impasse, would love to see the Canes do the offer sheet or get him with sign and trade

Should the Canes go after Rossi?

A sneaky weak spot is going to be our goal tender situation. I dont believe in Kooch and Anderson cant stay in net forever.
Couldn't agree more, Kooch is erratic and Freddy is fragile, maybe save the remaining cap space for a goalie stud at the deadline

what did we give up for Miller?

I've heard Ehlers and Granlund. That's about it FA wise minus Orlov and Burns.
I agree, but I still think with all the draft capital Tulsky will pull off trade we never saw coming

I agree the free agent class is thin but with all the draft capital Tulsky has I expect some big trades as well

Jake Guentzel was a pretty elite player and he fit us very well. And we’ve only had two offensive elite forwards under Rod. That’s Jake and Miko. Sample size is pretty small and I feel like your arguments biased. We are going to get an elite player or two In the off-season, we can be the judge of that this time next year.
I agree, I think the right elite that's not a diva could blend right in - I wish we kept Guentzel

Not sure if I like the Marner stuff but we will see either way.
don't know what the fascination is with Marner, he seems like he wouldn't fit Rod's system

I am pretty dynamic when you put it that way.
If the Canes were up 3-1 you would never have been here to annoy us

if Rod is fired, who could the Canes turn to? any good coaches still free?
-
-
so we can finally put to bed "In Rod we trust" - just can't fathom how a team that lost badly the first game on home ice comes out and quits on the coach

When the whole team looks this bad, there is only one person to blame.
And, it damn sure ain't Freddy!
all true, but I really thought they would move on from Freddie after this year.
