The hit was at such an odd angle doesn't look like he had a chance to brace his fall. Prayers for him.

The Bears have one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL
Bearzzz replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bears DBs are actually the strength of the defense. The problem with their pass defense is the defensive line. They get no pressure on opposing QBs, which makes the DBs to have to cover a WR for an eternity. Montez Sweat has only had one game so tough to tell how he will impact the past rush. -
13-10 Bears Only taking the Bears because they are at home and can run the ball. The right side of the line with Jenkins and Wright has been dominant on run blocks. Expect it to be a low scoring game. Bears passing game has been atrocious. Especially when Bagent is the QB. He is responsible for 8 turnovers in 3 games. His arm strength is suspect at best. Don't expect anything accurate beyond 20 yards. Bears run defense has been surprisingly good. They play a cover 2 shell and keep everything in front of them, so Young could thrive on short quick throws which will be open until they get inside the 20.

Score will be a 6-6 tie. Punters will have to take ice baths after the game. We all lose for having to watch these sorry teams.

Guess I was wrong. They just traded a second round pick for Montez Sweat. -

As much as we need pass rushers, doubt Poles will be willing to give up any of the 1st & 2nd round picks. I also think they have no intention of trading JJ. Poles will set the price high enough most teams will not be interested. -
If Tepper is smart he goes after Jim Harbaugh.

Totally agree. Very slim chance he leaves Michigan. Big part of it is his young kids. He has always said he wanted his kids to grow up in Michigan. Every couple of years he throws a tantrum and entertains offers for the NFL. It is just a tactic to get Michigan to pony up more $$$. -
If there was a re draft when would Young be taken?
Bearzzz replied to Shotgun's topic in Carolina Panthers
Would still be a top 3 pick IMO. He is playing like a rookie that needs more talent around him. Haven't seen anything that indicates he does not belong. I would probably take him at 2 or 3. -
Seriously, do y'all want a positive vibes only thread?

Last time I checked, we're not in Russia. No! -
I guess his job will be to scout future opponents 1-2 weeks ahead.
-
Obviously you are missing the point. Could care less about Smith calling him out about his game, he won't be the last. Smith just wanted attention and snitched about a private conversation on live TV. That's weak IMO.
-
So be a man and leave it at that. One on one, dude told him off and he responded. Just no need to be a snitch on live TV.
-
Absolutely! Smith couldn't take rejection and cried like a little baby on live broadcast. If you take personal shots at someone, be able to handle one back at ya.

DJ is a beast!

Like what I'm seeing from DJ so far. Fields played better today even though it is vs Broncos. Our defense continues to show nothing up front (as expected). Long year, if Fields doesn't improve, we will hopefully still be in position to grab Williams or Maye.
-
Oh, look I guess he is willing to play for any team in the league after all. I'm just glad we have options https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/sports/heisman-trophy-winner-caleb-williams-reveals-preferred-nfl-landing-spot/3201433/

Hmm, maybe to get paid and not risk an injury? Do you think Carolina used the same path of thinking when they took a QB from Alabama over a QB from Ohio State? Too early to tell but Stroud is looking pretty good right now.
-
So you are saying he would pass up his first year of eligibility to enter the draft and a $40-$50M contract and risk injury (just takes one hit) in a new conference dominated by Ohio St. & Michigan? I don't see it. If so, just find another Carolina to trade up and draft Maye. Pretty sure there will be plenty of suitors.
-
This is exactly the reason Poles loaded up on draft capital. He wasn't sold on this year's QB class. So, give Fields a chance to prove himself. Doesn't hurt Bears also took Carolina's best weapon and hope rookie QB struggles with inferior weapons. If things don't work out for Fields, they will hopefully be looking at two high picks in a nice QB class.
-
Cohen is a really good dude. Hope he is healthy and makes the team. You can use him to create a mismatch. He has very good hands and no LB can cover him when healthy.
-
Fields didn't look very good but I am okay with letting him play out the season. If he improves good, if not Poles did a good job giving the team options with picks in a nice QB class. It's only one game but none of the QBs from this draft are making me regret we traded the #1 pick. I do like the upside on Richardson though.

Yes, I definitely like this idea \_('.')_/
