I'll take that bet. Bears have a 7 game home win streak on the line.
-
I don't really know what to expect, the middle of the line is a mess so anything can happen. If I was Carolina, I would definitely be sending blitzers to confuse the center and guards. They have not done well blocking stunts.

I don't think it will take much to stop the Bears running game. Especially when Swift is in the lineup. Not impressed with his ability to run between the tackles. The coaching staff likes him because his speed and ability to catch. If the center can hold up from getting pushed back 4-5 yards, look for Caleb to have a big game. If not, it will be back to the short passing game. I think it will be a close game with Bears getting the win. Carolina will need to use silent count because of how loud it will be at Soldier Field, giving the defense an advantage. I know Carolina won a road game in Vegas but that stadium isn't close to being as loud as SF.

Bears defense has not given up more than 21 points in the last 10 games. Even longer if you look at just home games. They have also added some blitz packages this year. The got home with a couple of those are caused turnovers. Will be interesting to see how Andy handles them.

Ok, hopefully you are wrong. But will be glad to come back to this at the end of the season and see if you still feel the same. Development in the NFL is not linear. With the amount the coaches have put on Caleb (including making protection calls and changing plays at the line, which I haven't seen from the other young QBs) I am happy where he is at right now.

You can tell after 4 games, huh? GM material. The line definitely needs work & hopefully he can stay healthy. I am not an expert but I think his floor is a good NFL QB. He has the tools to be special if he is not seeing his center get pushed into him every snap. I would definitely take the bet he will not be a bust. But we shall see. I like Andy, he was a good guy when he was here and wish him the best after this game.
-
Really? What have you seen that made you think Caleb is a terrible teammate? His teammates love him, he doesn't complain about anything. Has he made rookie mistakes?, absolutely. But he has gotten better every game and he will continue to do so. I think it will be a close game Sunday with Bears winning. I don't believe Andy has seen DB talent at the level of Chicago. He has had a great start so far but his track record says he will throw us a couple picks and come back down to earth.

Thanks, I'm in a keeper league where we can retain one player in the round selected. Brooks could be a good value if he is available in later rounds.
-
Thanks for the feedback all. My plan is to load up WRs early then look for RB sleepers late.
-
Really? I thought Thielen would be a good pickup late because of his heavy workload last season. Yes I'm in a 12 team league. Thanks
-
Hey all, I have my draft tonight and been noticing Hubbard available in late rounds when I do mock drafts. Is he worth taking late or is Brooks going to be the primary when he returns? Thielen also has been available in late rounds, so I think people are just overlooking Carolina because of last year's record. Although it was a small sampe size, I was impressed how your starters looked in the last preseason game.

Agree, I saw a meme the other day that said "The last time I had faith in the news was when it was with Huey Lewis"
-
We will certainly see. Everything I've seen from Caleb since he was drafted has been positive. All the media stories about him not wanting to play for the Bears, wanting team ownership stakes and an overall prima donna have been complete BS. We love him. He'll be alright!

Wow, this guy is still in the league? I didn't think his leg was strong enough to last this long. Good for him.

LMAO, right.

Chicago sun times: Julius Peppers selected to hall of fame
Bearzzz replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
LMAO, I don't think anyone in Chicago is trying to claim Peppers. The article clearly says he played most of his career in Carolina and he is an Ex Bear, which are both true. Plus, Chicago has plenty of hall of famers to celebrate. -
I don't know what you were watching but he saw double teams all year with Bears and still managed 1300 yards. There were a lot of people on here that told me he was average, he was lazy and that Thielen was much better. I am ecstatic he is on the Bears. Dude never complained, played through injuries and finished with a career high in yards, that's without anyone on the opposite side.
-
Yeah, I am odd like that. I like a GM that has a backbone. It is rare in this league.
-
Video is telling a story. The GM stood there without a reaction (seems scared of his boss). Tells you who is running everything in the organization (on and off the field). Owner probably gets to give his blessing on weekly game plan.
-
I would be shocked if that happened. Poles will not give up either 1st round pick for Burns, when he only gave up a second for Montez Sweat, who is a much better player. Then to turn around and pay him? No thanks.
-
Absolutely possible they screw it up. Not sure what they will do with the pick. I would stay at 1 and draft Williams or Maye. As much as the experts predict how good a player will be in the NFL, it is just another lottery ticket.

As much as I wanted Carolina to lose for obvious reasons, I have to agree, officiating was horrible to the benefit of the Packers.
