1st game we played the panthers they basically matched us in SOG and we lost. 2nd game Canes 34 SOG to Panthers 19 and we won 4-0. SOG is definitely a big factor and hopefully we limit theirs next two periods.

I noticed that, NHL ap shows SOG 12-12. We need to keep the puck in their end in the 2nd.

I read that some areas around Sunrise FL had flooding due to the heavy rains, wonder if that’s causing delays in the fans getting there.

Hurricanes flight was diverted to Miami last night, Ft. Lauderdale airport was closed due to torrential rains. Canes already at arena for morning skate. Sunrise FL light rain stopped now all is good to go.

Canes need to open up Lyon’s net early to take away some of that confidence he’s been building this past month. Freddie tends to give up early goals and then tighten up, so Canes need to score first and often. If Freddie holds em off first period that would be a good sign. Balls to the wall first period please gents.

Just to show exactly what the Canes are facing in the Panthers, I’ve pasted the below from the Canes nhl ap (Walt Ruffs “Puck Drop” write up). The way both teams have been playing there’s no doubt the Canes are the underdogs. On paper the Canes lose. I believe the Canes will rise to the occassion and win, but this will be a real battle, make no mistake.

Alex Lyon in net for the Panthers, he’s played well this season with a .916 save percentage and has limited teams to 2 goals or less the last 5 games.
