  1. I know where he gets that low life stuff from too, I saw an interview with his dad. Dad pretty much said he was a thug, grew up that way and Tony gets it from him.
  2. You make a great point! The guys in the locker room no doubt we’re a factor in keeping Tony on the straight and narrow and I’m sure will again.
  3. He did a few trashy things when he played with us but nothing outrageous and I had no complaints about his overall play but did think he had some defensive lapses. Totally agree he added toughness and stood up for the team.
  4. Well here’s the thing, TD plays on the edge with a toughness we want, but his nature is to cross the line into dirt bag play. Rod was able to temper that most of the time, and I liked his play other than weak defense. but as you see as soon as he went to the Flyers he was back in dirt bag mode. I just don’t respect that. I guess Im not a whatever it takes to win at any cost to reputation kind of guy. So maybe when he shows up, and I think he will, coaches will keep him in line and demand a little more hustle on defense. We shall see.
  5. With all our cap space I really want to see the money go to our biggest weakness - offensive line scoring. If we don’t fix that we’ll never win a Stanley Cup. Our goalies were good enough this season and our defense was excellent. We just couldn’t score against good goalies. And we have to have insurance against injuries like we had with Svech and Pacci. Extend Aho, pick up just one more scorer, get good goalies in place (resign or trades or UFAs etc). All I ask haha.
  6. Granted he had a great season in goals and assists and won the Norris trophy as best defenseman, but the 4 years prior he only played in 50+ games each season, with far fewer goals and points, injuries? Seems a risk like Pacioretti. https://www.nhl.com/player/erik-karlsson-8474578
  7. EK comes with a hefty $11.5 mil cap hit for the next 4 years, not sure how that works for extending aho and other spots we need to fill. I wouldn’t pay it for defense. He’s not any better skilled player than Svech who we extended 8 years at $7.75 mil.
  8. I just watched several videos of Bradly Nadeau, impressive shot, monster snipes, accurate. Some were saying one of the top 4 shooters in the draft. Insane scoring this season but it’s the BCHL. I like this pick a lot. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/619153/bradly-nadeau?stats=postseason&sort=season
  9. Sounds like it. Watching the 1st round draft now. Saw this article but can’t figure out What Waddell is saying other than we like our team lol. Are the Canes going after a scorer or not! https://nsjonline.com/article/2023/06/category-5-hurricanes-arrive-on-the-nhl-draft-floor/
  10. I will add regarding Tony “Mans a power play” you may not want to look at actual career PPG stats comparing Tony to Ghost, it’s no contest even taking into account games played, Ghost leads by a big margin there.
  11. You really have no clue what I’ve looked at. I’ve looked at stats for both players for all seasons and teams they’ve played for. If you think DeAngelos defense is as good as Ghosts well that’s on you lol. We each have our opinions so I’ll leave it there.
  12. Yes and I understand this point. Ghost contract is pricey and Deangelo is half price. If this is what’s needed to get a scoring forward then go for it. Just don’t go touting DeAngelo as better on defense than Ghost, that I ain’t buying. Maybe Tony can improve in defense though. He certainly needs to.
  13. Never saw Tony make a stop like this- I have seen Aho go by Deangelo like he was a stationary traffic cone lol
  14. You’re the only one I’ve heard talking about Ghost as a defensive liability. Every player gets caught out of position on occasion. Meanwhile here’s a discussion of Deangelo’s defensive liability straight from his coaches mouth: https://phillyhockeynow.com/2023/02/09/philadelphia-flyers-coach-john-tortorella-criticism-tony-deangelo-defense-liability-not-happy-with-one-of-his-defensemen/ In any case time will tell if the Canes pick Tony up and how he performs defensively for us. What I hope doesn’t happen is for Tony to pull a cheap shot like he did in the video I posted and and blacken the Canes reputation.
  15. Just get ready to watch players skate around Tony on rushes. Ghosts defense was far superior. We have good defensive scorers, what we don’t have and need is another good offensive line scorer.
  16. Although Rod was able to temper DeAngelos dirty plays somewhat, I just can’t get excited about having him back. A stationary traffic cone at times on defense and then he pulls this dirty move with the flyers, earning him 2 game suspension and a $57k plus fine in lost wages.
  17. I would take Ghost his defense is far better than DeAngelos
  18. DeAngelo is a defensive liability. Even his current coach sees that. I hope that glitch is a hard stop. https://phillyhockeynow.com/2023/02/09/philadelphia-flyers-coach-john-tortorella-criticism-tony-deangelo-defense-liability-not-happy-with-one-of-his-defensemen/
  19. Not sure that Pesce won’t be traded at some point.
  20. Raanta was 2.23 .911 SV% regular season I’d rather see him back again as starter or as the backup if we pick up a top goalie. Pytor got smoked his one playoff game but agree he has potential.
  21. Kotchetkov. hasn’t shown me enough consistent good play to see him as the backup.
