  1. SMH, you can never address people’s post, just condescending replies. Did we get any pressure on the Jets without Burns? How’s we do without Horn against Tampa in our biggest game in years? How do you think our DL would do without Brown? What if Shaq or Luvu go down at LB? Our D can be good if we stay healthy, but he’s correct that we are not deep behind our marquee guys. Please tell us who the depth guys are that could replace the guys I mentioned.
  2. I didn’t need a correction for why he was criticized. IDGAF if Tampa was inconvenienced and that was immaterial to my post anyway. I thought it was ironic/funny that Saleh got blasted a couple days ago and now one of his main competitors may have lost their LT for the season at a joint practice. His reasoning for “being a douche” was the chippiness (potential injuries) on day 2 of joint practices and that was kind of confirmed by Armstead’s injury.
  3. Sucks, but made me chuckle thinking about how Saleh was painted as a douche for joint practice feelings and here the Dolphins OL could be in real trouble again from a joint practice.
  4. I don’t get why KB is blamed for that play when the only blame in the SB was the refs. KB touched the DB and the DB was down as the replay showed. If you watch the play, it was obvious that the DB was down. It was obvious live and there was a ref right there near the end zone with a great view of the play. The play should have been blown dead and the ref let it play out. Interception returns are where QBs and other offensive players can get hurt, like TD getting suspended for his hit on Adams. KB didn’t get Cam hurt. The ref that didn’t blow the whistle on a dangerous play when it was completely obvious that the DB was down caused Cam to get hurt. The review took no time at all and the return was overturned. Same way that our OL missed blocks but they didn’t cause the launches into Cam’s head, the refs that ignored the obvious penalties caused those hits.
  5. I guess it does help if the QB knows exactly where the first rusher is coming every pass play.
  6. You can’t tell me there aren’t street vets out there better than Jordan. It was one thing to get him after Cincy gave up because he was a former day 2 pick and still young but he’s been really bad now for multiple years.
  7. We also had a bunch of pro bowlers in their prime those playoff years. I still can’t believe someone in here would downplay the talent on that 2015 team.
  8. C’mon. Are you serious? Are you actually downplaying the 2015 team? I get being positive but there is a very high possibility that this current team never gets close to that level, period. It’s certainly not a guarantee that Young becomes an MVP and I like him. That was a super team. The 2015 team had prime Cam, Greg, Kalil, Turner, Norwell, Short, Star, Luke, Norman, TD, Luke, Shaq, CJ, Allen, Tillman and others. I mean, it’s one thing to say preseason doesn’t matter and we’ll be fine but actually dissing the 2015 team as if this team is on that level? Crazy.
  9. Yeah, I don’t get the break out calls. He was WR3 his rookie year and got about 50% of the snaps when healthy (he’s missed a few games each year) and he was WR2 last year getting around 80-90% when healthy. Right now, he’s #3 at best with another 2nd round rookie to compete with and Hurst/Sanders who are both better receiving options than last year’s starters. Even with all the snaps last year he didn’t produce that much, especially in the last 6 weeks pushing for the playoffs.
  10. This team is a ways away from the talent from 2013-2017. As Cam and Greg faded and we lost a lot of guys, especially on D, we’ve had a dearth of talent. Just based on having a promising QB and possibly a solid OL, it seems we are more talented than the end of Rivera/Hurney 2.0 and Rhule years. On offense, if Young becomes what we hope that’s the key because our 2020 offense was talented with CMC, DJ, 1000 yard Robby (not sure where his talent went later) and 1000 total yard Samuel. Teddy limited us a bit but the offense in 2020 had skilled talent for that year. The one thing that still frustrates me is the lack of depth. I don’t think we are deep at all. Look at how our secondary fell apart for Mike Evans with the loss of Horn. If Burns or Brown get hurt, our front loses a ton. It’s been frustrating throwing 6 draft picks for Sam, Baker and Corral and then doing a trade up again for reach/project in this draft. We gave up a lot for Young as well and while I’m glad we did it, we are going to need to hit on more picks than we have been to infuse this team with talent. Look at a team like SF last year. They couldn’t overcome getting down to 3rd/4th string QBs but they survived a lot injuries to still make the championship game. We aren’t close to that depth. Our backups are way too far behind our key starters for us to withstand a bad injury year.
  11. Fun fact. Blue is Stetson Bennett’s nephew.
  12. Dude it was a joke based on the hot take reactions of preseason game 1. Also, no chance we miss Rivera either. He had a hella talented squad for several years and fuged it up.
  13. Hot take: Frank Reich will make us miss Matt Rhule.
  14. 4 out of 5 starters from last year started the game. Pretty sure none of those 4 missed any training camp/practice time aside from vet rest. They shouldn’t really need time to get up to speed. I’m not worried yet, but that was certainly not good at all. If they were just getting up to speed there wouldn’t be special meetings to discuss how bad it was after a preseason. Doesn’t mean they won’t get there, but even the OL said they played terrible so there’s no need to sugar coat it.
  15. Hmm, weird. Don’t recall CMC in the Super Bowl. Was Purdy starting for the Eagles? Damn, must have missed that trade.
  16. When you take Moton off the OL, it starts to look worrisome IMHO. Personally, I think we need to keep drafting IOL in the day 2 area (where the elite C/G prospects are still available) and always use day 3 picks if guys like D. Williams, Norwell, Trey Smith and Mays are available. Don’t just reach on the guys Marty loves because later round OL who surprise seem more common than other positions. Those OL often aren’t straight projects as well.
  17. That 2024 OL scares me a bit outside of Iky. Corbett and Bozeman are decent average starters. If we have bookend tackles they are fine, but I don’t think BC is Moton level and LG is likely still a bit of a hole. If Mays turns into a Norwell, maybe but that OL doesn’t come close to screaming top 10 OL.
  18. I would have taken a shot. Never really cared for Ron. I don’t think he’s a good coach that improves a team/makes it better. He needs an MVP on offense and defense to win and even then he only won in the playoffs (usually better coaches) with the extremely talented 2015 team.
  19. It was called and he said he did it on purpose because the ball was inside the 3 already. That was when we scored the TD so he figured fug it, 1st and goal at the 3 yard line or 1.5 yard line is the same thing. I still think that a healthy KB was sorely missed. He had zero issues week 1 against that same D and Talib and their secondary can’t toss him around like Ginn and Brown. I know KB went off the rails but it sucked not to have him there against that D.
  20. Yep. I understand the ref blame game but Miller is clearly not referring to that. The game was truly lost by our poor coaching staff. They had two future HOF edge rushers and we didn’t adjust in any way. I can’t remember which Bronco defender said after the game that they knew exactly what we were doing, but that showed that they prepared for the game and Ron/Dave just assumed Cam and Luke would save the day. We had the more talented team and they had way better coaching. That’s what Miller means.
  21. If GMs watched the senior bowl, he likely wouldn’t have even been drafted. Reminds me of Little. Both of them dropped like rocks after they got into the apples to apples pre draft events. We just happened to stop both of their falls. While I wasn’t upset about taking a chance on Brown until after we used another 6th on a long snapper, Brown should not have been the pick. We at least corrected ourselves by taking Mays a year later, but Trey Smith was a ridiculously easy pick for us in the 6th. His athleticism was way beyond Brown’s and his day 2 talent was worth the health risk. With our OL concerns, we should have gone Smith and Brown in the 6th and ignored LS until UDFA.
  22. First, I was responding to Rivera not having a GM as if Ron was some sort of Bill Belichick mind that did amazing with the paucity of talent and trying to compare his OL talent with Rivers’s current OL. Rivera had a lot of talent on the 4 playoff teams with DG and the coaching was the issue not the OL. Denver had two HOF edge rushers and we did nothing to counter them on a horrible field. Second, according to Gross, he retired and knew he was going to retire in 2013. https://www.si.com/.amp/nfl/2014/07/29/jordan-gross-weight-retirement-panthers Third, if you are going to bring Norwell and Turner into it, at least acknowledge that Norwell signed with Jax a year after Gettleman was fired and Turner was also not extended until after Gettleman was fired. Gettleman didn’t make either thing happen. Fourth, I am again not saying Gettleman was some special GM but he did bring in a bunch of OL and didn’t ignore it like Hurney 2.0 and Rivera in Washington. See “first” again on why I mentioned Gettleman at all, nothing to do with saying Gettleman was good. Lastly, it gets really annoying when people try to say the OL from 2014-2017 wasn’t good or talented. They were. You don’t go 22-2 with a bad OL and the 2015 OL was ranked top 5 and in a couple rankings #2 after Dallas. 2016 was injury lalapalooza and 2017 was good again even with speed bump. 4 of the 5 OL in 2017 were previously or currently pro bowlers or all pros. The talent was there, especially on the interior and Williams was 2nd team all-pro in 2017 but unfortunately got hurt in 2018. Lastly part deux, I am again not saying DG was great but OL was actually an area he got a lot of talent but LT is some sort of a trigger word in so people don’t see the rest of the OL.
  23. Umm, even though I know Gettleman made tons of mistakes, the 2013-2017 teams Ron had were very, very talented and had OL talent. Aside from the refs, it was Ron and Don who lost the SB. Again, Gettleman wasn’t good but Andrew Thomas, the guy he got a lot of flak for, is a top LT and he drafted/signed Moton, Norwell, Turner, Williams (was 2nd team all-pro before injury) and Oher (also solid before the concussion) in 5 drafts while already having Ryan as C. One thing Gettleman did was bring in young talented OL. It was Hurney’s call to not resign Norwell and do nothing in the draft OL wise outside of the fantastic swing and miss of Little. In 3 drafts, Hurney 2.0 got Daley and Little, smh.
  24. Yeah, I never understood this “great blocker” phenomenon. I recall it being said to support the contract we signed but I feel like I recall far more failed blocks in clips on here over amazing blocks.
