  1. It does. Watching DJ go off for his best career game and Bears 2nd best game ever and seeing them mention the pro bowl and then showing a CMC snippet of him setting 49ers TD record and mentioning pro bowl again just hurt. Watching Fields seem to come into his own now and saying that he’s doing it because he finally has his elite WR like Brown and Hill just hurts as well. My joke hot take that Frank would make us miss Rhule appears to be happening and that really stings.
  2. And pick 9 this year and a 1st next year and a 2nd this year and a second in 2025.
  3. Unlike CMC, I think Horn will come back because TBH, I think Fitterer is going to do as much as he can to not finish worst. If we traded Caleb Williams, DJ Moore, CMC and a 2025 2nd for Young (oh and the immortal DJ Johnson) after we have a dismal season, Fitterer likely believes he’s fired and he’s likely correct.
  4. I agree and I worry as well. I know people say not to worry about the height, but if you look at the interceptions he threw week 1, Bozeman was engaged with a DL right between Young and the WR. I think it was the first one but it made me feel like he couldn’t see abates at all. If his view is a problem and he doesn’t have a cannon, that could be a big issue. The cannon would allow him a fraction of extra time to get the ball where it needs to be while seeing more. You are also not the first talking about his footwork. He might not be able throw a 35 yard dot without his feet being properly positioned.
  5. We gave up a bit more value for Darnold and heck we almost gave up as much value for CJ Henderson. Darnold was our higher 2nd round pick (38 and a higher 4th/6th) and Henderson was a high 3rd round pick (70). The 49ers gave us late round picks which totaled a mid round 2nd pick (best pick was 61). We basically got CJ and Darnold for twice the value we got back for CMC. Here’s the funnier part. We basically used up the same cap space for CJ and Darnold as we would have for 2 years of CMC. SMH, we are stupid.
  6. Agree. People are missing the anticipation, i.e. throwing a WR open or getting rid of the ball before the WR is finished with the route/turns. If you wait until Theilen is deep in the end zone it’s way too late. The other thing that disturbs me as much is the throw at the end of the play. The DL knocks it away out of bounds but Thielen is blanketed at this point running to the corner and Young tries to throw it at this point when no one is open. That ball should be thrown out of bounds at this point so you avoid the sack and the interception. He doesn’t throw it anticipating Thielen’s route but he does throw it in desperation. Just an FYI, I don’t believe this was 4th down, where forcing a throw doesn’t matter as much. Pretty sure we got sacked on 4th to end the game.
  7. In every year of what should have been a rebuild starting in 2020 after Cam, Luke and others were gone, we have spent to the limit. We still haven’t done anything with Burns aside from dismissing a team changing bounty. We don’t have next year’s 1st or the year after’s 2nd. Going 0-17 would be the worst, albeit really ironic and almost funny. Nothing to do but realize we’d hit rock bottom and it was time to start fresh after starting half fresh 4 years in a row. We’ve had Teddy, Sam, PJ, Baker, Dalton and Young all start in 3 years and 4 games and we traded up for Corral. Remember those Browns fans’ shirts with the list of QBs they ran through? We’re making our way.
  8. Not having a pick where we could get one of the top rookie QBs in a strong class would 150% be a kick in the nuts. We’ve traded away 1 1st, 3 2nds, 1 3rd, 3 4ths, 1 5th and 1 6th in the past two drafts (and future) trying to build instead of rebuild. We look like a bunch of morons for not trading Burns and maybe not extending him and now for possibly trading away the top pick in the draft.
  9. Since Cam’s arm officially fell off, we are 23-55. That’s an average of 5-12 for almost 6 full years and we are missing a 1st and 2nd round pick in the next two drafts while we state we don’t even have a real weapon for our rookie QB. Our OL has taken a step back and the best offensive player is Adam Theilen by a mile. That’s why we are frustrated with this 0-4, likely 0-6 start.
  10. Almost like we saved them from the Trey Lance embarrassment.
  11. SF was probably ecstatic to get a weapon like that for what ended up as 1 mid 2nd round pick value. They knew they’d be picking late after getting a healthy CMC and they were right. SF is 16-1 including playoffs since CMC was their starting RB with the only loss being Philly in the NFC championship when CMC almost had to play QB. I think they are happy with the results of the trade.
  12. According to CMC he didn’t ask for a trade. I don’t recall any articles or tweets from him saying he asked for a trade. We just heard that he was on the block and his mom’s comments came after we already had gotten an offer from the Rams and CMC was already on the block.
  13. The other reason some of us and maybe you were OK with the CMC trade is that we thought we were rebuilding so we’d sacrifice near term play for draft capital. Unfortunately, the team couldn’t figure out what they wanted and didn’t trade Burns. We also decided to go all in on a QB, possibly the wrong one, and not realize that CMC and Moore were far more important to that QB’s development than Burns. Seeing us say we need to trade for a WR1 while DJ Moore is on pace for his best year ever (1200+ and 8TDs+) with a QB that isn’t a huge passer, really does hit you in the nuts again. It’s the same Rhule start where we should have rebuilt the right way and decided we were good enough to compete. Newsflash, we weren’t then and we aren’t now 4 years later.
  14. Fitterer got 4 picks in return and traded CMC to SF. I believe we had an offer from the Rams too and a smart GM would have likely realized that CMC in SF was going to help turn SF around and that Stafford started off 2022 hurt and the Rams would likely get worse. Instead our SF picks got worse and worse and the Rams second got better and better. The problem was still that we didn’t evaluate well and make good pics.
  15. The fact that we got rid of CMC for DJ Johnson and the worst pick we threw in on the Young deal is pretty depressing. The draft has been a big bag of poo the past few years with Fitt. We’ve traded away our best players and done very little with that value and then traded away a bunch of picks and gotten very little. Poor Matt Rhule never had a chance with the trades and picks we made, lol!
  16. Yep. If we trade him now and get less than 2 firsts and a 2nd, then we may have the worst FO ever.
  17. It’s his mom and she mentioned the Rams who were interested. That means she was talking after we had already started the trading process. She’s a mom so she’s going to be protective and of course she’s happy if CMC is going to be closer to where they live and frequent (dad and son played at Stanford). If she said that before we already surprised and angered CMC by putting him on the block, then maybe I’d care but it was after so I’ll still believe what came directly out of his mouth.
  18. Due to Covid, his presence at Oregon’s pro day was highlighted. I posted an article above where Detroit was very open to trading back from 3 because Okudah would have been available. They said there was no interest in moving up so their price to move down wasn’t crazy high. If Hurney wanted to force his point and go after Herbert he sure didn’t make a stink about it or even contact Detroit when they made it widely known they were willing to move down.
  19. Ugh, ball’s gotta be out. One guy to shake for a TD. Did Young get sacked here? I hate to say it because I just wanted the top rookie for once. I’m not going to say that I’m a QB whisperer so I would have been happy with any of the three we loved. Personally, I just hated giving up so much. What I hate to say is that I don’t think Young will ever be anything besides just OK if he has great weapons. That’s not the first pick. He’s got a serious fumbling issue. Every time he gets hit or hit hard the ball is out. Three starts and 2 fumble TDs on sacks. We will lose a lot just because of that. He also hasn’t had success deep. He didn’t go deep at all on Sunday and part of that IMHO was because we were in a 1 score game the entire time. When we got behind the first two games the deep balls weren’t accurate. No idea if the WRs were at fault or not but they just didn’t look promising.
  20. Damn, that’s Greg Little level pressures. I recall him having a dozen+ pressures against Atlanta in one of his first few games. At least we didn’t trade up to the 2nd to get him.
  21. I’m worried about stupidity like that as well as locking us into a Burns deal that isn’t good for the long term. I don’t really know what to do with Burns now. We screwed up not taking the trade and now we’ve sort of gotten the upper hand that he’s not that guy but he’s not going to give us a discount. We should have just traded him. A post above has a reporter saying we’ll need to double dip at WR (FA and draft). We’ve taken two second round WRs in the past 3 drafts and signed two FA WRs this year. Fitterer said we were blown away by Mingo pre-draft and yet here we are again. It’s so tough to watch.
  22. I don’t see anyway we win either game on the road. I’m not even optimistic about the rest of the games anymore but 0-6 absolutely seems like a lock.
  23. See the article I posted, doesn’t seem like he was even working on a deal. Rhule is gone as is Hurney, but I’m not going to just add a feather in Hurney’s cap. There was no mention we were even interested and Rhule had the final say but Hurney sure didn’t convince him or Tepper. Tepper was all over Fields and Young so you don’t think proposing Herbert wasn’t even an option? Rhule sure didn’t tell Hurney he couldn’t go to Oregon’s pro-day.
  24. Don’t forget that COVID was causing a lot of NFL folks to not travel. Seattle and NYC were the hot beds. Because Marty was there and a lot of teams were not, it made it seem like he was the most interested. Again, it would have been a simple trade to make to get him since it was pretty obvious that Tua and Herbert were going to Miami and the Chargers. The Chargers sure didn’t act like they were scared that we’d move up and Detroit was more than ready to deal. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2020/04/24/detroit-lions-nfl-draft-trade-down-jeff-okudah-bob-quinn/3017054001/ See the last line: No one else was interested in paying the cost to come up. If Hurney loved Herbert like he loved Greg Little, he would have moved up to 3. The Lions knew they could drop a few and still get Okudah. Giants wanted a tackle and Miami/Chargers were QB. The Lions weren’t looking for a bounty just some value so again, this is a nice story, but I don’t believe that Hurney truly wanted to trade up.
  25. During COVID a lot of scouts didn’t travel much. He made it to their pro-day and since then he supposedly wanted to trade up. There were teams like the Lions and Giants whose picks were announced as available. If he wanted to trade up and get Herbert, he could have pretty easily. We needed a QB badly with Cam gone so if he truly loved Herbert, he’d have been on the team.
