  1. SMH, could you make a worse comparison? Being an owner of a football team and questioning an 0-5 all star coach is not the same as getting a heart transplant. I’m sorry man, but your coach and GM are just not good. One day you might admit it and not keep trying to find excuses for them.
  2. Yep. He’s the root of the problem because the guys in charge are his decisions. Still can’t believe people are blaming him as if he’s running the show. He’s the new Rhule. The problem IMHO is squarely on Frank and Scott but there’s an active movement in here to make Frank and Scott look not so bad anymore as if they had no choice. SMH, are these people watching the games or do they think Tepper’s calling plays too?
  3. As mentioned above, of course it’s challenging. Reich was talking playoffs and now we are going to be 0-6 and likely 4 games out of first and already behind on 2 of 3 tiebreakers. Any boss would want some answers at that point and it should be challenging.
  4. It’s still amazing to me that you guys actually think Tepper thought up the point guard mentality for Young meaning that he didn’t need Moore. That IMHO is coming straight from the football guys trying to explain to their boss why DJ Moore is a throw in on a trade up when we had an offer of a 1st for him last season. The CYA being done by people, who thought Frank and his staff were all-stars (after getting fired from Indy) and the people who still think Fitterer did a good job, is truly astounding. Frank’s done a terrible job and our Fitterer has plundered our talent. I don’t care if Tepper is involved and wants to see Frank because he keeps losing. Tepper made egregious mistakes by hiring Rhule and likely Frank and keeping bad GMs, but Frank and Fitt would suck even with a hands off owner.
  5. I’m not happy with Tepper because he kept Marty who gave us Rhule and Fitterer who gave us Frank and is a bad GM, but man this is scapegoating IMHO. Feels like media is trying to turn Tepper into Dan Snyder since there’s a void now of a terrible meddling owner. I watch Frank’s presser and see an owner who wants his head coach, who promised playoffs, to explain why we are about to be 0-6. That seems reasonable to me. Instead that simple presser has turned into Frank wanted Stroud, which seems complete BS since other people told us he wanted AR and Tepper shoved Young down his throat. Seems like Frank and Fitt’s buddies are trying to save their asses. It is funny though to now see hurdlers saying Frank wanted Stroud since he’s doing the best when all along the draft everything was Young and that the staff liked AR second.
  6. Brady erased a lot of the bad decisions. BB’s one draft plus is that he did find a bunch of good OL and D (secondary, DL and LB). I think he probably drafted better than most think at less visible positions. NE’s secondary has had pro-bowl caliber guys every year since Brady was a rookie. He did seem good at getting good FAs like Moss and Welker for peanuts. As you said he was also very good about getting rid of guys who were in line for huge paydays so he could keep the his core guys.
  7. Yep. Most rebuilding teams* will trade away expensive vets for draft picks, won’t make FA signings that lose you a 3rd and 5th compensation and don’t try to win so they can get the marquee talent including elite QBs. We wasted 3 years trying to compete and are at a pick deficit still and have been for multiple years such that we have a shell of a team around a rookie QB and pissed away what’s likely our best draft position since Cam. * To the folks who are still in denial on that, we lost Cam, Luke, Bradberry, Olsen and a bunch more going into the 2020 season. We had a huge talent drain and Marty 2.0 did not have good drafts in 2018-2020. We were absolutely rebuilding as Tepper’s be patient letter to PSL owners said.
  8. God that hurts right now. We could have gotten a solid TE with pick 36 or even traded up to try and get Kincaid or LaPorta who went just before. I love where it mentions we have multiple offers for DJ and Burns but weren’t trading either. SMH, could have come away with 3 firsts and pick 36 in the past draft. Instead DJ is a throw in so we only owe a 2025 2nd instead of a 1st and we can’t really add many weapons due to key draft pick deficits.
  9. I don’t want to make you feel worse but Miami made a lot of vet trades for picks. They traded for Hill because they got rid of Fitzpatrick for a 1st and Tunsil for a couple 1sts and a 2nd (sound familiar?). One of those firsts ended up being the pick the 49ers traded 3 firsts for and the pick we should have had if Rivera hadn’t started Haskins for a week only to release him. Anyway, while we are minus all the picks for Young, Miami used their tank pick on Tua and then used all the picks received in trades to rebuild their team and make trades like Hill. We are in the same spot except we traded away a bunch of picks and our offensive stars and didn’t trade our defensive guy for the bounty.
  10. Just watch Survivor. I thought their casting had changed recently to cast train wrecks for the ratings. Now, I’m thinking that’s just how it is now. They ousted a nerd (not derogatory, I watch Survivor and Sci-fi/fantasy), who loved Survivor. Dude said he was good at puzzles and he was terrible. His physical ability was 0.0 and he made it to week 2 because a therapist couldn’t hack it on day 1. It is sad to watch.
  11. I don’t want it and personally, I hope we pull off a bunch of wins even if they are all luck and bounces. I just don’t want to see the Bears using our top pick to turn their franchise around. I would still laugh though because it would means we would have been better off with Rhule. The irony alone would make some heads explode in here.
  12. The image stuff is crazy. You could already photoshop well enough, but that Google Pixel add showing the instant photo changes makes you wonder if anything you see will be real. It will be pretty sad when a large chunk of the world will be 100% online. We thought the pandemic was bad for mental health, man it could get far worse.
  13. Geez, Tepper is the new Rhule boogeyman. Never mind the horrible GM, coaching and play, Tepper’s making every move now mate as of Rhule. I guess Fitterer and Reich need a few more years to show what they can do without meddling. SMH.
  14. Of course he’s involved. He owns the team. He also wanted Fields over Horn. None of those things happened, so while involved, your examples and mine seem to show that he doesn’t appear to shove moves down his GM’s/coach’s faces. Who gives two shits if he’s involved if he hasn’t made anything happen against the football folks wishes? Of course the team got worse. Hurney and Fitterer have not been good. Our drafts have been awful. Do you think Tepper made all those picks and trades?
  15. Best part, he was picked after DJ Johnson who may get his second tackle before he turns 25.
  16. Also, you are completely jumping to conclusions. Even if the offense looked different with Dalton. That absolutely 100% does not mean that Reich intended to run the offense with Young. Do you think the Raiders took Jamarcus Russell or San Diego took Ryan Leaf or Detroit took Joey Harrington with the intent to not have him start and run the offense? Lack of success <> mean the offense was meant for someone else. The Colts fired Reich because he didn’t work out. Maybe, just maybe Reich and Young hasn’t worked out like they intended.
  17. This is what he said and he even said he didn’t like AR. "I think it's going to be a very, very surprising pick in Carolina," Davis said coyly. "If this pick happens, who I think they are in love with, I'm not a fan of it. I just know there are a couple of guys upstairs that are enamored with the physical ability of Anthony Richardson." Enamored with the physical ability? Every team looking at QBs would be enamored with that including us. The teams that didn’t like Cam were still enamored with his physical ability too. There’s no question at all that AR had the best physical ability of all QBs. I have no doubt that AR was our second choice, but it still doesn’t mean that Tepper forced everyone to take Young or that Reich’s offense favors AR. Reich inherited Luck, but he chose Rivers, Ryan, Wentz, Brissett and even Foles as a backup. Those guys don’t scream AR as a rookie. They scream Dalton/vet QB. Based on all of our evaluations, I’d say a super processor fits that mold better because they assume he sees the field like a vet. At least that’s what they thought and said. The results <> the intention.
  18. Really? Please post the links on that. All I recall hearing is that Reich liked AR as his 2nd best. As @LinvilleGorgeposted above, seems like Stroud was out early. I think we liked the CPU in Bryce and the athleticism of AR and the CPU won out.
  19. SMH. It’s amazing to me the hoops that people go through to convince themselves. Also, even if Frank/Scott made the pick and were happy with it, that doesn’t mean they weren’t wrong or that Frank’s done a poo job. They just came out and said they were simplifying the offense for Young, which means they screwed up for a variety of reasons or that Young isn’t doing the right thing. Dalton is a decade long vet who doesn’t need a skimmed down playbook and that’s why it looked different. Still does not mean Reich didn’t ever want Young.
  20. Ok. You’re just being really stubborn. Do you really think they told Reich to call it like a marriage proposal to make sure people didn’t realize that Tepper told Fitterer that he had to pick Young over Stroud which made Reich sabotage the season? Sometimes the truth is right there out in the open. Panthers didn’t need to spin anything at that point. It was all roses. The spin has been happening since we looked like trash against the Jets.
  21. Those articles were before the draft. What was there to spin at that point? We had top pick and could do exactly what we wanted. At that point the fans and team were excited because our true need was a QB.
  22. Read the article I just posted. It wasn’t just PR spend.
  23. I’m not happy with Tepper because he’s made bad choices but damn it’s getting annoying when people are ignoring stuff like this and saying Tepper forced it. I think Tepper was excited like fans and even regurgitated what he was sold and his pissed that we appear to be way worse than Rhule or Wilks.
  24. Below is not typical PR spin. This is from the second link I posted and has Tepper nowhere near the process. Fitterer said last week he had waited to ask Reich who he preferred at No. 1 so that nothing would cloud either decision-maker’s judgement. But on Monday Fitterer finally walked into Reich’s office and popped the question on who he prefers — and both agreed on the same QB. “It was kind of like a proposal — and I said yes,” Reich joked Tuesday. “But there is consensus and we are excited.”
  25. Technically we weren’t in the room but damn if these threads aren’t ignoring the mountain of articles that Frank and Scott did to laud themselves as collaborators and as go getters that moved up to the top pick. This wasn’t PR spin. Frank and Scott basically said we’ve been watching Young for years and that they all agreed he was the guy. Look at this article: https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nc/charlotte/news/2023/04/25/panthers-reach-consensus-on-who-ll-be-no--1-pick-in-draft#:~:text=1 so that nothing would, consensus and we are excited.” Fans were pretty damn excited that we got the pick because it seemed like we were finally serious about rebuilding around our next Cam (#1 overall pick). Seems like now we have all this spin because Scott and Frank appear to have driven this team into a ditch and both turned around the Chicago Bears and made the 49ers SB contenders.
