  1. First, I’ll add that I’ve never preferred Young and it was obvious in week 1 against Atlanta last year that he was going to have problems. He’s cemented this in the rest of his career. Second, I’d enjoy Dalton starting because people in here actually think he’ll give us a chance. This team is poo with the worst QB ever. Dalton hasn’t been a winning QB in almost a decade and he’s not saving us this year.
  2. CJ Stroud changed Houston. Daniels and Williams may do the same. Tons of top QBs bring winning cultures. Winning cultures are typically due to winning, amazingly enough. I can guarantee you that Andy Dalton will not change the culture of this team. We have been the worst team in the league for years and we are clearly there now. You can’t say that we’ll have a worse culture if we leave Young in and go for the #1 pick because our culture is already poo. You basically admitted that we are losers and we are. The only way we ever get back to anything good is if we have a legitimate QB who brings optimism and can win a game with his play.
  3. Let’s get real here guys. What kind of culture have we had the last few years? We aren’t losing any culture even if Young loses the team by continuing to play. I don’t think Dalton does anything. Dude’s record is 33-52-1 since 2015 on better teams. This team is lost and it doesn’t really matter. What matters is what QB we get at the top of the 1st next draft. If we finally get the right one, the future culture will be fine.
  4. It’s amazing that it took 1 week of play for Young to lose the support of posters wanting to give him a chance this year. I agree that I’d let him play out the year. Dalton isn’t the answer and honestly his winning % is poo since 2015. We just need to get to our new QB in ASAP. I guess the only problem is the development of Leggette and Sanders. Mingo’s route running looked so bad on Sullivan’s video of Young that I’m not worried about him and Johnson is a vet so we kind of already know him. It’s a balancing act of getting the top pick and advancing the young guys. I’m leaning towards the pick because we’ve already passed up Stroud, AR, Williams, Daniels and Maye. The last thing we need is the top QB in 2025 to go one pick before us.
  5. Welcome to Panthers football the last 7 years (including 2024). While winning 5 or 7 games made draft discussion start a little later, the draft is all we have this year. Last year draft discussion would have been huge if we hadn’t traded pick #1. This year is like last year but with our top pick so draft talk starts early, well the top pick and that 47-10 ass kicking.
  6. Fitterer was the king of this. Look at his drafts. It’s amazing how many guys fit in that try to be the smartest guy and find guys who no one else likes that we can look smart when they succeed. None of them did and thus you look like the worst GM in NFL history.
  7. I like Ewers and think this is the season where he needs to show his next level. Two things I like about him is going into Alabama last year and playing fantastic/winning and going into Michigan this year and doing the same. Hostile environments against teams with a lot of NFL talent on D. He’s not perfect but last year was a big leap over 2022 so I like him a lot if he’s able to make another jump up in play. He’s also big enough with a solid arm.
  8. Damn, your optimism in the preseason got dashed on the rocks of week 1. I hear you though, been down on Young since last preseason/season and down on our talent level when we allowed Fitterer full control after firing Rhule. I couldn’t stand Fitterer and never got why he should get a chance. Lots of people (some huge posters) were so blinded by Rhule like Tepper that they didn’t see the poo results from Fitterer and here we are. Being a fan of a team that you know is the worst in the league sucks balls, especially when you trade away so much including pick #1 in 2024 and pick #33 in 2025. Hard to have a 2-3 year turn around when you don’t have all the picks. We are talking a good decade of 2-5 wins with two 7 win seasons. 2018-2027. We already know 2024 is in the shitter and most likely 2025. Will we get 8-9 wins in 2026/2027?
  9. It always has. We just pulled a fitter and picked the wrong guy.
  10. I know what you are saying but I wouldn’t say it’s nothing. We went 2-15 last year and there was some hope that Young might get it. 47-10 later and we need to map out a real rebuild and determine who’s worth saving. I think it’s important (as an owner, I would think this) to trust that my HC isn’t sugar coating and has a plan to develop young guys while looking at 2025 QBs. We know where most people in here will go (meddling, forcing Canales to start Young) but I think this could be a key first meeting to make sure the football guys are on the right path and not trying to put lipstick on a pig. I don’t want Tepper deciding who to draft but after that humiliation, I’d want to sit back and listen to my coach to see what he thinks of where we are now.
  11. OMG, relax people. Canales reports to one person and Tepper’s not stupid enough to not realize Canales didn’t build this team. I’m actually hopeful that Canales can take the lead and get the franchise backing to say we need competition for Young. That’s what we all hope happens this year, an answer on whether or not Young is the guy. I know my thoughts but that was an expensive trade up with disastrous results. If I’m the owner, I want my coach to give it to me straight. If Young isn’t the guy, how do we develop the young skilled guys like Leggette and Sanders and Brooks. Do we trade anyone (lol, I know, is there anyone to trade?)? No more sugar coating, one guy away, everything is fine poo. Time to be real and decide what our future is.
  12. WTF? Did you even read the OP’s post? He was saying it was money well spent and that the new Guards played well. SMH.
  13. He’s not. Hint, Franks and Boone aren’t OL and there’s one OL missing from that list.
  14. Honestly, it did make Sunday more fun. I knew Young sucked and we’d suck this year so I was prepared for the dazzling display we got. It was almost funny/comical to watch and I wasn’t as angry as you clearly appear to be. I’m just going to relax and watch some football, maybe Panthers and watch college games to see who might be worth our top pick. It’s actually interesting now that we actually have a 1st rounder.
  15. He only was really hurt in 2020. In 2021, he missed a few games, came back and then we shelved him after Miami beat us down and we were out of it and Rhule was trying to save his job. CMC had 118 touches in 6 games before he was traded in 2022, which was almost the same pace as his SF touches in 2022. He also said he never asked for a trade. I know he’s not on the team and we like to bash those players, but I don’t believe he ever didn’t play hard every time for us. He already had the bag from us, so it’s not like Burns protecting himself before his 2nd contract.
  16. If only some smart people in the huddle were our GM, we saw the talent drain happening back in 2020 with Teddy and we laughed at the one player away comments including Fitterer’s aside from maybe 1 or 2 positions we’re a better team in 2023. As soon as Rhule was let go, we should have canned Fitterer as well and gone for the tank and got everything we could in picks for Burns, Moore (GB offered pick 15 or 16), CMC and anyone else. Pile up the picks and select BPA and draft the QB who doesn’t look like a leprechaun whenever it fits so we don’t have to trade up.
  17. I was just making a joke that the guys we traded are healthy. Technically, CMC has been fine for his extension because his injury years were the last years of the rookie contract including the 5th year.
  18. Definitely planning to try and get JK Dobbins for week 2.
  19. My youngest (HS senior, gets home early) just told me the news and he basically said this is our Browns era. He said Fitterer really screwed us lol.
  20. I would bet that wasn’t the case. I’d bet what was more likely is that the “condition” was that we needed to get people to decide if Young can be the guy. I don’t think Tepper meddles as much as some think and I don’t think he’s stupid enough to keep Young around when we get embarrassed like this. Tepper has certainly not waited a long time to try and fix the GM/coach. I dont think he’d be against picking a QB in 2025 if we get what we saw today the rest of the year.
  21. That’s not what I heard. I don’t have a constant sources but have talked to a very key person who I met through friends. The word was that there wasn’t interference this offseason. That only came up because of all the talk that Tepper was meddling.
  22. It did but there are too many you aren’t an NFL GM so you could never be better and you have to be rah rah or you aren’t a fan. I was big on canning Fitterer with Rhule but the same people said to give him a chance because it was all Rhule’s fault and the same people said Morgan is a great hire because he’s a dawg and maybe he didn’t agree with Fitterer. When we didn’t like Rhule anymore, we needed to get rid of the GM he wanted and start fresh but we didn’t and we suffered and then we got rid of Reich but basically kept Fitterer’s right hand man because he needed a chance. Cost us an extra 5 years minimum because we were stupid and felt some sort of weird loyalty instead of just looking at the terrible results.
  23. Why? After finishing 2018 1-7 and having 5 wins in 2019, 2020 and 2021 followed by 7-10 and 2-15, people will now stop coming because Andy Dalton isn’t starting? Dalton is 33-52-1 with more talent since 2015. He’s not going to put any more asses in the seats.
