That was sad. A run and we then couldn’t get a play off in 15-20 seconds so we hit the two minute warning.
-
Way, way, way too many mistakes.
-
Our player evaluating is less good than many in here think. Most teams decided not to pay RBs or just go with draftees. We threw money at a vet who hasn’t looked worth it.
-
Young basically gave up 10 points with the 2 interceptions. D is playing well and we shouldn’t be tied but the two interceptions hurt. Also, haven’t seen him all day but Ian Thomas have the Falcons 15 yards, enough to kick the FG. WTF we paid him is beyond me as well.
-
Horrible throw. Bates never moved until the ball was thrown. How Bryce missed him is beyond me. Hopefully, it wasn’t because he couldn’t see him over the OL/DL right in front of him. Second time on the same play.
-
Horn down again. Sorry, but he’s absolutely injury prone. fug, I know Hill made a good play but our secondary without Horn is just not the same.

We don’t seem prepared well. Timeout to avoid a delay, delay of game and 12 men on D doesn’t scream well prepared.

Man, that first drive feels like forever ago. The momentum swung.

Falcons vs Defense. It's Going to Feel Like Christmas

Hey, still think Robinson was a bad pick and he won’t be able to make up for Mariota? Oh, don’t think I’m happy about losing right now. I’m just not going to think Robinson is a bad pick and somehow he won’t makeup for the loss (lol at calling it a loss) of Mariota. That’s just blind homerism. Robinson will be solid. -
Yeah, we gave them the momentum and they flipped the field so 1st and 20 forces a bad play in the red zone.
-
That 4th and 1 was awful. I don’t get why we never do QB sneaks. I know Jarrett cam inside but on a QB sneak he couldn’t get there in time. Not under center and they have time to clog the middle.
-
He always has. He wasn’t good last year unless he had big holes. He turned his back while trying to go forward. Terrible short yardage RB. Why is Sanders not out there? Please tell me we don’t think Hubbard is on the same level. Oh well, waste of a great start. Not a good call or run at all.

Cam did still have Olsen and CMC that year, both of whom were over 100 receiving in the playoff game. The WRs sucked, especially after trading KB and Funchess getting hurt. Lol, makes me laugh saying that but KB was unfortunately still better than the crap we had at the end of that year. It’s also funny to see you talk about the WRs like that because the optimism was overflowing not that long ago about our WRs this year. I still wish we did the Burns trade because with Kupp starting the year on IR, that 2024 Rams pick has a decent chance of turning into Harrison Jr. Bryce needs serious weapons. Heck, pick 36 could have netted us a TE like La Porta with a small trade up.

Taylor was lined up so completely different on runs and passes, they didn’t run the ball effectively at all.
-
Still helped. Pacheco averaged 2.9 ypc after averaging 4.9 last year. Mahomes had a bad game, well off his paces last year especially 5.8 ypa when his career average is 8.1. Note that KC was held in check by the #30 2022 scoring defense. A team we steamrolled because they played nickel D all day when all we did was run.

@GRWatcher said the same on the previous page and I said that during the game thread. When it was a run he lined up on the LOS. It was crazy obvious.

Falcons vs Defense. It's Going to Feel Like Christmas

Ok? Was anyone really scared of Mariota either? Point was more about someone acting like Robinson couldn’t replace the 438 yards Mariota supplied. Personally, I’d rather play Mariota than Ridder/Robinson, but is either scary? No. Also, it’s truly comical in here about how much poo pooing is being done on the Falcons run game when then Huddle loved our simple run the ball offense last year as we closed in on a playoff spot. We’ll need to stop the run tomorrow because we are going to see a lot of it. -
No. I think he knew Zappe would get through so he was basically taking a free look at Corral. He saw in a week what took us almost 2 years and 2 draft picks.
-
Still unfathomable that we spent a 2nd, a 3rd, two 4ths, one 5th and one 6th to replace our $31M one year investment in Teddy with $24M Sam, Baker and Matt. I mean, if you include losing Bradberry’s 3rd round comp pick (and the 6th we got back), we paid $60M and lost 3 day 2 and 3 day 3 picks for the pleasure of watching that poo for 3 years.

They are very bearable but losing Mariota is not the reason they are. -

Huh? Mariota had 438 yards rushing. The rest of the team had 2280 yards rushing. You don’t think Robinson can replace Mariota’s incredible 438 yards? That’s 17 yards rushing from Robinson and an extra 9 yard pass from Ridder per game. Are you still drunk from last night? I’m hoping our run D steps up but Mariota being replaced by Ridder and Robinson doesn’t make me feel relieved. -
Agreed. This to me is like our drafting sometimes where we didn’t look ahead to future strengths and seem to draft to the weaknesses of a draft instead of the deeper parts to get value. As soon as we knew we were turning down that haul, get the extension done. To me there was no reason to wait. If they needed to see more, you take two 1sts and a 2nd from a team that’s on the last year of their window (shut quickly). If you don’t need to see more and turn down that deal you see Crosby (whose stats are just a bit better) and Chubb getting deals and Bosa needing a deal a year later. You immediately say give him the $23.5M per year that Crosby got and handover a nice bonus to make Burns happy.
