  1. Sort of. Penix was 0 for 2 on scoring drives in the 3rd quarter and Cousins was 2 of 4 (both FGs) in the 4th including the send it to OT drive. The OL and skilled guys were all there too. The D played well in both quarters of the second half.
  2. Honestly, it was awesome to watch the win but even during the game it felt like a microcosm of this season. We come back to down 5 and then miss a 2 point conversion that takes some of the oomph out and then Young flubs 4 straight drives with stuff like spins into sacks or thinking he can run through a LB and we get 3 points on those 4 drives where it felt like we could break the game open. Defense played awesome in the second half but still gave up 2 FGs due to bad special teams and turnover on downs. Then we get the drive to take the lead before the bad special teams and the D plays lights out in OT and we drive and win. Also, what’s with not kicking on third down in case of a bad snap? Why would you ever run for a yard at most and risk a fumble just to give yourself 1 shot at a FG in case of a bad snap? We had plenty of timeouts and we gained almost nothing after Tremble’s catch.
  3. I don’t get it either. People may point to Baker, Jones and Darnold but they went 1st, 6th and 3rd overall. Comparing day 3 talent with resurrecting top 6 QB is like comparing taking a chance on a local JUCO pitcher over Paul Skenes after a bad year.
  4. Funny, I think this might not be a bad crop. Yes, the guys who were discussed as first rounders/heisman favorites have honestly poo the bed but maybe you can find a guy early 2nd like a Dart or Love or Lamar or Brees or Favre. You’ll probably still get some first round QBs. Take Sellers. Dude looked really good in his first starting year last year. OC goes to coach App and he gets Mike Shula, yes, that Mike Shula as his OC this year. Remember Cam’s stats in 2018 with Norv before teams realized his arm was shot? I’d love to see Sellers with a good OC/QB whisperer. Maybe, just maybe we’ll get lucky and have a good QB in a bad situation fall to our 2nd.
  5. While all that is true, we have added a Micah Parsons or a Jamar Chase or anyone at that type of level. That means that until we get a good QB, these minor improvements aren’t enough.
  6. It’s just as much a dead horse to keep trying to blame other things over Young. He was absolutely the reason we lost, period. There was no gaming around a D that had zero respect for Young throwing downfield and Young playing right into their hands. The defense had two slip ups but they had us in the game and I can’t blame them for mistakes/getting worn down when your QB has 8 of 9 3 and outs after the opening drive. We have one problem to fix to get us to the point where we can then discuss other issues. Until then, the rest is just verbal diarrhea.
  7. Sorry man, you can try and excuse it but Bryce was awful and absolutely the biggest problem. Not sure what game you had on but if not for penalties on the first drive, he would not have led a single scoring drive. He was atrocious. We can’t do QB sneaks. We can’t do long passes. We had 2 potential scoring drives. First one was extended due to penalties otherwise Bryce throws a pick. Second was a blocked FG. Outside those two drives, we had 28 plays on 8 drives. Basically we averaged a little over 3 and out on 8 of 10 drives. Most of those ended with inaccurate passes or a pick. Refs generously helped us out so we didn’t get shutout by a 1-8 team. Canales hasn’t been amazing but it’s hard to work around the shitty QB play we saw today. We worked around it at GB but we were never behind. Bryce’s interception just made winning last week harder. This week, it just close the door.
  8. Completely agree. It’s a waste of time. I hate that we once again will likely end 5-12 to 7-10 and make no real headway towards being a competitive team.
  9. What an understatement lol. Watching today was just so sad. Even last week his interception against GB almost cost us. He’s so damn afraid to throw more than 5 yards that on 4th and 2, he can’t even get more than a 1 yard completion. He needs to be gone already. We’ve won games despite him or because teams have him a little respect. When the other team forces him to win by actually throwing it 10+ yards, he can’t without flailing. I’m just tired of watching young QBs make plays that our QB cannot physically make and I’m tired of being a team that can’t run a QB sneak or a Hail Mary. How can you possibly make the playoffs when your offense is limited to 60% of normal NFL playbooks.
  10. It seems like every single early QB pick the past two years is better than Bryce. It’s a true fact that we have the worst QB in the division and we spent a poo ton more than all 3 other teams.
  11. Lol. Saving Young some embarrassment by not even trying a Hail Mary. So sad when we have to get into FG position because our QB can’t throw it further than that.
  12. He sucks. It’s really that simple. He’s an anchor on this team.
  13. This is the type of poo we are used to seeing. Another random young QB making us wonder why the fug we gave up so many picks for Young. Until Young is gone, we will never be a good team.
  14. Yep. We killed the talent on this team throwing away 4 first picks, a few 2nds and Moore by keeping Burns one year too long and trading up for Young. We look like an OK team but we are still not close to contending because our pass rush and QB are still bottom of the league.
  15. One day, all the fans in here will realize QB is still absolutely our biggest weakness.
  16. True, OL is huge and style fits and things do change. I mean Hubbard looks a lot different from last year. He was an animal last year and he’s tentative this year.
  17. I completely missed on Dowdle. My fault for assuming a move Dallas made was correct. That said, no one saw Dowdle being a top RB in the NFL with only a few starts and no one predicted Dowdle would push Hubbard to the bench by clearly outplaying him.
  18. Hubbard has always just been OK talent wise but he played hard. For the past two years, just actually giving a poo and trying hard every play made you a fan favorite and a standout. This team was truly just that bad. I don't know if you ever saw the offseason RB drills in CMC’s last year when Chuba was his backup, but CMC made Chuba and the other RBs look bad. It was clear how much more talented CMC was and obviously that’s silly to say but Rico vs. Chuba looks similar right now. Chuba is a JAG who got a lot of touches with a decent run blocking unit. Unless Brooks actually shows something, the best bet might be to sign Rico and see if Chuba is willing to stay as the backup for cheaper. If he’s not, get something for him, sign Rico and draft another RB to compete with Brooks and Etienne.
  19. Exactly what I think. He’s not the guy. This is year 3 and Canales is still coaching around him. With the way the D and Rico played, good QB play wins this game by 2 TDs. I’d love to see this team with a better QB. It’s sad to think we picked the wrong year to go QB hunting and trading away every asset we had. The #1 overall pick we gave away was the QB draft class we should have jumped all over.
  20. The NFC is all over the place this year. The Lions just lost to a QB that’s been out almost all season and are now 5-3. They are also very questionable in their offensive play calling. In no way shape or form should David Montgomery fumble and still get several more touches than Gibbs. That’s Chuba over Rico type stuff and they were supposed to be SB contenders.
  21. I don’t get it. Why are the most important pass plays going to XL?
  22. When I watched the replay I will say that I saw the same thing. He didn’t fight through the contact. I don’t think he could get to it but his lack of football IQ came into play a bit. If he fights inside, he might draw a flag. It was a bad throw by Young, but it looked like the CB on him was not looking back. He’s got to learn how to draw a flag to save his QB because Young does that stuff. Also, that play has worked once and it was likely a lucky perfect pass. Can we stop going to XL on that play? Even on that TD he was well covered. It’s a terrible play that doesn’t work.
  23. I didn’t realize the quick video can pickup a flag. I understand when the refs on the field can pickup a penalty after discussing but I haven’t seen that video review undo other bad penalties. There was no ref huddle on that.
