  1. 1 in 3 drop backs he has no where to go with the football. My money is on it not being that difficult.
  2. That's true except we're talking about a players first 2 games. Everyone wanted Bryce to come out and light it up much like Cam or even Stroud did, but unfortunately the offensive system and skill players we have in place make it almost impossible for that to happen. Maybe we chose Bryce because we knew he was the one to best handle this situation we currently find ourselves in with the offense. Hopefully they felt confident dropping an undersized rookie QB into a less than ideal situation, to learn from it knowing it wouldn't destroy his confidence like it would have AR/Stroud if they were brought into this system. There are going to be growing pains. Hopefully Bryce can learn and become better, same with our coaches and scheme.
  3. Then let's dumb it down. Bryce was brought in to be the PG of this offense. How can he be the PG when 1 in 3 drop backs features Z E R O open targets and Z E R O targetable windows? That to me combined with a few rookie mistakes is a scheme problem and the reason our offense and Bryce don't look very good, but by all means blame Bryce for not having virtually anywhere to go with the ball on over 35% of his drop backs (most in the NFL).
  4. Chances are Bryce could also have a pretty good game vs that Colts defense too. Falcons/Saints had a higher ranked defense last year and obviously are ranked higher this year so far than the Colts as well. When was the last time they actually had a good defense? The Dwight Freeny Robert Mathis days? You guys are grasping at straws trying to draw conclusions after 2 regular season games lol. Stroud might not throw for another 300 yards all season. I get being disappointed with the offense but they played two very formidable defenses very early in the season. Need to relax.
  5. That's true to a point. How niche is Taysom Hill? The Saints rode him to victory against us. I get Laviska isn't a threat to pass the ball but if he's killing it out of the backfield why not keep giving him the ball? He also doesn't get an opportunity to run many routes at all and he's probably our most explosive player. It's just weird he doesn't get more play time throughout the game
  6. Honestly the person who needs the ball more on offense is Laviska. Just like the last coaching staff he gets 1-2 plays in the first quarter and is never heard from again. Pretty crazy since it seems like he gets at least a 1st down every time he touches the ball
  7. My post didnt have much to do with Stroud at all really. I think comparing rookie QBs especially this early in the process is comical. No two situations are ever the same. Sure you can have your opinions and draw your conclusions on how their careers are going to end up after 2 games, which is also silly but we are on the Carolina Huddle of all places so I wouldn't expect anything less.
  8. Inexperienced compared to who? The core of the Falcons team and the schemes they run have been in place for a few seasons already and since when do the Huddlers opinions of current events ever work out? Every opinion around here is so emotionally charged all the time. How many Huddlers cheered when Rhule was hired? When Newton was cut? When we traded for Darnold? The people here don't know anything more than your average couch potato. Bryce Young has played in 2 career games as a pro and you've got people running around here like chickens with their heads cut off. Even if Bryce came out and lit the world on fire his first 2 games as a pro that still doesn't mean he would be successful in his career here. But people would be cheering and the narrative around here would be a lot different even though it would still be very much an unknown at how his career is going to go. It wasn't that long ago Sam Darnold was looking like our future franchise QB and we were headed to the super bowl after his early season heroics. Look how that turned out
  9. So that excuse is okay for Stroud but not for Bryce?
  10. At this point seeing how the offense has struggled I'm back on the we should have traded him bandwagon. We need to do everything we can to surround Bryce with a star studded offensive cast of players. Similar to what Burrow has in Cinci. If that comes down to sacrificing players on defense or even the OLine then so be it. Bryce is not Cam. He's not going to win with Ted Ginn Jr., Philly Brown, Jerricho Cotchery, Brandon LaFell and etcetc. He needs top of the line talent on offense and I think that might partially be why we haven't resigned Burns yet.
  11. West side crip gang Makes me wonder if this whole thing was gang related
  12. The offense still looks lethargic even compared to the other offenses around the NFL that are also starting rookie QBs. Baker Mayfield even looks like NFL starter material with the Buccs. For whatever reason it's taking us longer to find our way. I do not believe it is all on Bryce. He has shown at times he is capable of making plays and moving the chains. He changed the play on a 3rd down early in the game and converted. He has done some positives, he just needs to do them more consistently and I believe with more time and experience he will. He has overthrown some deep passes, that to me is way better than underthrowing them constantly. He at least has the arm strength to stretch the field he just needs to get that timing down with his WRs more consistently (and maybe scheme up more than just 1 or 2 a game) I do not agree with taking him out of the game for Andy Dalton, however. If Andy was our own version of Taysom Hill then sure I could understand. But that to me looked incredibly weak that we are going to have our #1 overall pick who is supposed to be the PG of the offense on the sidelines for the most important down of the drive in favor of Andy Dalton. Jury is still out. This whole thing might blow up in our faces and it definitely isn't an encouraging feeling right now but this is what we have and no one is coming to save us. Just have to hope that the next level processing and intelligence that was supposed to make Young excel in the NFL is what helps him learn from his mistakes and enables him to continue to improve to a level expectant of a #1 overall pick.
  13. We wear white 90% of the time nothing new. And I absolutely hate it.
  14. That's pretty impressive to see and glad to finally be on the other end of it for once. Usually that's our olineman getting rag dolled (before our current group of course)
  15. He is in a good situation just not a perfect situation. Even if he is the most "pro ready" That doesn't mean he's going to come into the NFL and throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs. That means he's the most mentally equipped to handle the NFL game which means making mistakes and learning from them to grow into a good QB. Most rookies struggle their first year. They make bad mistakes, they are learning on the job. That kind of thing is going to happen unless you're Pat Mahomes which is more of an exception not the rule. Regardless logic isn't going to stop people from freaking out and having melt downs during Year 1 of the Young/Reich Era. Remember we only won 6 games in Cams rookie season and he had one of the best rookie seasons for a QB in NFL history. Just gotta give Young some time to grow. There are going to be a lot of ups and downs this year
  16. Using Mahomes as the example in which you are holding our 22 year old rookie QB too might have been why you've been getting so much s*** lately. A lot of you guys need to go read that QB Debut thread and read through some of the names and stats of the those players in their first games. I'm sure I could find a dozen more who struggled. Not every team situation is the same, our entire team underwent heavy scheme and personnel changes. Bryce is not an uber athletically gifted QB so he doesn't have that to rely on when the play breaks down. Anyone who thought he was going to come in and start carving up NFL secondaries was just fooling yourselves. Just need to relax and let the kid play. If he works hard at his craft which I think he will he is going to be just fine. Gotta give him some time to learn though.
  17. We aren't the niners where we can plug essentially an UDFA in at QB and have him do well. We don't have that type of team or structure yet. Bryce will be good depending on how hard he works at his craft. He's going to take some lumps. He's going to make mistakes. He will lose games. And most of all he will not be perfect but that doesn't mean he won't eventually be a really good player capable of taking this team deep into the playoffs. He definitely can be and I think he will eventually get there. He just needs time and to continue to work at it.
  18. We definitely need a return man with some experience. He would give us that + some.
  19. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-news-roundup-latest-league-updates-from-monday-sept-11 You can read through this list and see how many injuries there were and how many of them were announced and had at least some news to offer. Ours is the only one "still being evaluated" and it seems like that is always the case
  20. Cameron Heyward of the Steelers and JK Dobbins of the Ravens are two that come to mind without looking anything up
  21. It's just weird to see other teams report their injuries especially when significant versus p**** footing around it like our organization does
  22. So still no update on the severity of the injury?...why does it seem like our team takes so long to report these things where other teams provide updates almost right away? Does this mean it's not a severe injury?
