Regardless how he is doing it 400 yards + 4 (probably 5) passing TDs is just insane for a rookie QB. Gotta give Stroud props he is far and away the better rookie QB right now playing in a better offense. That doesn't mean he will remain better than Bryce through their respective careers but through the first 7-8 games of their rookie seasons you really can't argue with what Stroud has done so far vs Bryce. I don't believe he'd be doing the same with Reich and the boys but he would undoubtedly still had been a good player for us. Hats off to Stroud. Hopefully Bryce can have himself a good game today as well.

What if the "known asset" you're referring to plays like an imaginary player over 50% of the time anyways? I'd take a ham sandwich for Burns at this point if it meant not screwing this franchise with his "show up when I feel like it" play for the next 5+ years. Fitterer needs to be fired. That's all there is to it.

Burns draft classmate (edge rusher) inks new deal
Mr Mojo Risin replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
You're damn right he isn't our best player and whoever believes that is a fool. We even switched schemes and put him at OLB where he was supposed to be "even better" and its literally the same poo year after year with Burns. He's good enough to make his stats look pretty but when it comes down to actually impacting the game he's useless. $30 million a year for that? Hell no. Out of all the mistakes Fitterer has made so far this has been and will be undoubtedly the worst one once he finally gets that massive deal. And unfortunately this will have the most impact on our future as well. That's a lot of money to have tied up in a player that only shows up half of the time, if that. -
I'd wager he has more garbage time sacks vs sacks where we are still in the game that actually matter. He is not a difference maker. He is not a cornerstone piece. He is hardly better than a rotational pass rusher piece ala Mario Addison. When has Burns completely wrecked an offensive series for the opposing team? He doesn't collapse pockets consistently. All of our previous DEs had stellar games in which they took over drives. Charles Johnson, Hardy, Peppers, Reddick, and I'd even throw Addison in as well. I don't even notice Burns on the field half the time. He is not an imposing precense whatsoever and I doubt there is a single DC in the league that loses sleep when having to game plan for him. He just simply is not an elite player. He's a solid to good pass rusher and that is literally it and that's not good enough to command $30 million a year on this team when we need to surround our young QB with playmakers a running game and an oline that can pass block. He is a luxury we can't afford

At this rate I'd almost be fine letting Burns walk in FA for nothing. That will hurt us a lot less in the long run vs handing him a deal he doesn't deserve
-
To be fair last year we weren't a top pass blocking unit, we were a top run blocking unit. The run game scheme change doesn't play to the strengths that we had with these guys last year and they are getting exposed in both the passing and running game because of it. Now we also have had revolving doors at both OG spots and only recently have we had serviceable play at those spots. Combine that with Icky and his mental lapses that continue to put him in bad situations during pass plays and yea it's not hard to see why they've underwhelmed so far. For as much as BC is overlooked not every piece on the line has to be pro bowl material, just serviceable and BC gives us that when he's healthy. Same with AC. These other guys....not so much but Throckmotton has been improving these last few games...I think.

The guy covering him fell down which is why he was so wide open lol. Usually when a guy has touched the ball a handful of times like he has for us you can tell if they have "it" so far he doesn't look like he does. Blackshear on the other hand needs to have more touches/passes go his way he definitely looks like he could develop into a very solid chance of pace back to compliment Chuba.

Ickey is fuging garbage - the official threadâ„¢
Mr Mojo Risin replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yea I'm kind of on the fence with this. He's had some REALLY bad reps this season and even in the preseason he just did not look good in pass pro. He has some solid reps sometimes though and is still a pretty good run blocker. He's very young still like a lot of guys on our team. This is a season of learning and growing as a young football team. I just hope it doesn't land Young on IR while they continue to fight through it -
Why Trading Burns is the Only Path to Getting a #1 WR in 2024
Mr Mojo Risin replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
We need multiple receivers not just 1 really good one. We need some quick twitch/shiftyness to our offense. Bryce doesn't throw many 50/50 balls or deep bombs for that matter. Not saying he can't or won't develop that part of his game eventually but he's really good at getting the ball to WRs to make plays in space. If we some how had been able to retain DJ Moore along with Thielen we'd honestly be set. DJs skill set is perfect for the type of QB Bryce is. -
Question for the Burns pocket watchers...
Mr Mojo Risin replied to CamWhoaaCam's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd rather use that money on the offensive side of the ball. Even with Burns we aren't a top defense. It's time to have a top offense and not let history repeat itself by thinking you can spend money and have both. You can't. Use that money to protect young and surround him with playmakers while getting high energy guys who are hungry to fill out the defense. Burns is a solid player but he disappears far too often to command that sizeable % of our cap. -
Burns draft classmate (edge rusher) inks new deal
Mr Mojo Risin replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Please trade him fuging christ. The future outlook of this team is already on shaky grounds. Handing a player like Burns a massive contract like that just so he can disappear even further sounds like a death sentence. -
Sanders made his best play of the season when he decided to not touch that ball thrown on 4th down. Not good.

I hold my tounge a lot considering the amount of trash I read from week to week on this board (no surprise we were 0-6, now 1-6). I'm just enjoying my 24 hour grace period gotta rub the Stroud huggers face in it during that time, it's only right because had we lost don't act like they wouldn't be doing the same to Bryce
-
Yet he's 0-1 against our guy. The better QB won today and that's all that matters
-
We have to read the regurgitated bullpoo you and the rest of the Stroud huggers have been spewing all season yet your boy couldn't show up for you against a 0-6 team and only put up 13 points against a defense that is bottom 3 in the NFL in points given up. Not a good look honestly
-
Yea Stroud really showed that off today didn't he
-
Bump
-
You and the rest of the Stroud nut huggers had it coming after all the poo you have talked

I would fire Reich at 0-7
Mr Mojo Risin replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
You are so obsessed with Stroud and blinded by your own emotions lol. Who gives a poo if Stroud has the better rookie year? Who honestly gives a poo if he wins a few more games than Bryce this season and what does that have to do with how they do over the rest of their careers? Bryce has gotten out to a slower start than CJ and you act like the entire story has already been written. It's 7 games in into their rookie years nothing is definitive no matter how many words you want type in caps lock. There are QBs that have had worse stats than Bryce this year and they have won games. That tells you it's not all on the rookie QB to win games. Every team deals with turnovers at inoppurtune times but only a few teams get scored on as much as we do, does Bryce play defense? That first game and second game of Bryces career where he had nowhere to go with the football in 1 out of 3 drop backs? You want him to go run the routes too? What about a rookie OG giving up over 30 pressures in 2 games (a historic number btw never has been done before). You want Bryce to go out there and pass block? How about the highest paid RB in FA avging under 2 YPC. You want Bryce to play RB? Christ. Gotta love Panthers fans. You'd think after Cam Newton Panthers fans out of all other NFL Fandoms would understand it takes a team to win football games and be successful in the NFL. Doesn't matter how talented your QB is on an individual level unless you've got a Mahomes type but even then he needs help too. -
I butted in on a conversation I wasn't ever apart of I just saw your comment and it rubbed me the wrong way. I had a feeling it might have been a troll but I took the bait anyways. 0-6 teams don't usually get bandwagon fans to begin with lol
