  1. Not that many good TEs in the NFL currently. I struggle to name a top 10 without looking at a chart.
  2. He's got a defender within a fingers graps of his face and he's rolling out to the right towards the sideline. If he throws the ball anymore inside he'd be throwing across his body while on the run with a defender in his face. Where exactly is he supposed to put that ball aside from the perfect spot he threw it to on the sideline? If Mingo didn't overrun/adjust his body in a weird angle that should be an easy pitch and catch
  3. Just for the lolz but let's say Young turns it around and becomes the unquestioned Franchise QB this team desperately needs. What color jersey you buying white, blue, or black?
  4. Where do you recall seeing those stats?
  5. Wonnum had 38 pressures. Maybe you're thinking of QB hits? The real question is how many times did Wonnum let a TE make him look like a complete b****? Burns was at least double digits in that category
  6. If Evero wanted him he'd still be here. Best of luck
  7. Then you should grab WRs who excel at YAC and stretching the defense. Not a WR who excels at 50/50 balls.
  8. Evero pushed for us to sign him. I wonder if Evero had any say in the others we let go on defense
  9. Sure having more picks would be awesome and ideal but what if that trade kept Fitt/Reich in place to use those assets then what good would that have done? Vs. what actually happened, we gave our new HC/GM combo some more ammunition to build this team in their vision.
  10. Okay well the Raiders didn't get fleeced and still managed to be the Raiders (haven't won a playoff game since 2002) so in the end it didn't matter. Who cares if you pick 1st or 34th in the draft if you make the wrong pick you make the wrong pick. If you have the wrong coaches and people in place you are going to suck no matter how many draft picks you have. Our only hope is that Canales and Morgan are the men for the job and if they aren't it wouldn't matter if we received 5 1st round picks for Burns. A good coach/GM will turn the picks and players we do have into a productive nucleus that will set us up to be a good team in a couple years.
  11. Eh I haven't commented much today I've got a few posts left in me
  12. Turning a weakness into a strength. Just pray these guys can stay healthy and we'll be good to go. Still need some solid depth behind them. It also gives Zavala two really good players at the position to hopefully learn from.
  13. What does that have to do with these two trades that you made out to be the exact same scenario? So why not look at the success (or lack thereof) that move made for each of those teams? In the end it didn't matter one way or the other and the people who are upset about the Burns compensation should be thanking their lucky stars this regime was at least smart enough not to cave to Burns demands and still got something for him while not paying him a single cent more. This was a win for the Panthers
  14. And how many playoff games did the Bears win after that trade. And the Raiders? I rest my case. The only way we screw ourselves is paying Burns what the Giants gave him. He won't be making it to the end of that contract I'd almost be willing to bet money on that
  15. The people responsible for those moves are no longer here. Thinking we needed to lock up the core of a 2-15 team was also NOT the move. Would have been nice to have more ammo for this draft but we don't. We are finally doing what we should have done the year they cut Cam Newton. Tear it all down. The only thing that still bothers me is that the Teppers still have not learned their lesson to stfu and let the people they hired do their jobs without them chiming in with their wonderful football IQ. I pray they stay the fug out of the draft and let the coaches/scouts do their jobs. We can't afford a shitty draft after all of these moves we just made
  16. Burns will not see the end of that contract
  17. The Giants are paying Burns all that money to get dominated by a TE multiple times a game in the run/pass game. This is exactly what this team needed. For Brian Burns not to be on the roster when TC begins AND we got 2 picks out of the deal. Burns is the Giants problem now and good riddance.
  18. Doesn't really fit what we need on offense. We need speed and YAC. He's more of a 50-50 ball/possession type guy. His speed isn't bad but he's not really a tackle breaker or someone who's going to out run coverage consistently.
  19. At this point I'd be happy if we traded him for a Ham Sandwich. Still being able to get a 2nd and something else would be amazing.
  20. The people responsible for this situation have already been fired. The mistake was not taking the Rams offer. I would not hold these people accountable if they thought the best way out of this situation is to let Burns walk for nothing. I know that sounds crazy but he is not worth what he is demanding, not even close no matter how his stat sheet looks. We've seen the way he impacts games and it is no where near the price tag he is demanding. Forcing this current regime to tie up a portion of the cap on a player they don't believe in does not sound like a recipe of success to me.
  21. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Smitty counted that first catch as a body catch with the way he traps the ball to his body. He does a great job of tracking the ball and I don't have a particular issue with how he "caught" it but he definitely pins it into his body like most body catches. Still a great play regardless though.
  22. The only L would be signing him to a long term deal. As long as Burns is not on the roster by TC its a huge win for the Panthers.
  23. Yea but he's also a large part of the reason they are even in the SB to begin with. Wilks on the other hand is not
  24. You again aren't wrong but I can definitely see why he chose to fire Wilks. That unit honestly under performed for most of the year and the defensive play calling during that GW drive will probably haunt them for awhile. It was pretty bad.
  25. I get that but Wilks blinked in the biggest moment of his career. They had the KC offense on its heels after MVS caught that ball and ran 3 yards backwards passed the LOS. He then ran a prevent defense and allowed KC to nickle and dime them up and down the field. Shanahan even called a TO after they converted because I'm guessing he was pissed off at the defense his DC just called and rightly so. This move all but affirms that.
