  1. Cam hasn't had a legit opportunity to prove his value to a team as a starting Qb. He needs a FULL OFFSEASON with his teammates and coaches going into the year. The last 2 stops he's had to learn the playbook on the fly while playing in A W F U L offenses, like legit some of the worst offenses in NFL history not even looking at the QB. How can anyone say with a straight face either places have been a good measuring stick for Cam Newton's ability to continue to be a starting Qb in the NFL. Sure, he can't do it all like before and needs to be surrounded by a solid offensive line, TEs, and Wrs. It isn't much to ask for to not have Damiere fuging Byrd as your #1 WR. It isn't much to ask for to not to have your two offensive guards both score a 0.0 blocking grade for the day. If Cam got a full offseason to learn a playbook and his teammates and then came out and played like sh*t I'd agree with you morons. But that's not the case. A team's #1 job is to make their Qb feel comfortable so he can go out and execute at a high level. Tell me, how has Cam or any other QB for that matter supposed to feel comfortable in the situations he's been in the last 2 seasons? Impossible.
  2. I'm convinced we could set up two blocking dummies at each guard spot and they'd be more effective
  3. His "performance" lol what kind of drugs are you on man? Or is it brain damage? Not quite sure
  4. Because he isn't the problem. How can a guy who's been here for a month be the reason for our offense and defense sucking for the last 2 seasons? Explain that to me.
  5. Because of the incredible drive and work ethic that a player like that possesses. If you think any regular Joe Schmo can come into the NFL and have a career like Cam has had you are sadly mistaken.
  6. And how many of those players had to learn their playbook and teammates on the fly? Remember he joined NE 5 weeks before the season started. No other starting QB has had to do that. Then he comes here and has to play behind this god awful fuging oline. He has put together great drives in every game he has played for us these last few weeks. The oline ends up getting man handled and it fugs everything up as the game goes on it really isn't that hard to see.
  7. How many other Qbs were signed off the street during the middle of the season to start for a franchise this year? None other than Cam Newton. Last year? None. That is some terrible logic you just used. When Cam became available the last TWO offseasons every other team already had their plan settled at QB. He wasn't even available this offseason. The Pats waited until after preseason game #3 to make the decision to release him. Teams don't wait until after TC to figure out who their starter is at the QB position. It's funny people want to judge how good of a QB Cam is but the dude hasn't had an offseason full of OTAs, mini camp and training camp with a team since before the 2019 season. He's had to learn the playbook on the fly and adjust to the chemistry w/ his teammates DURING THE SEASON. No other QB has had to do that
  8. People really don't understand the game of football and how important it is that your quarterback has time within the offense he's playing in to learn the playbook and get the timing down within the scheme with motions, progressions and overall chemistry with his teammates. Cam hasn't been afforded that opportunity yet. With the Patriots or the Panthers. He had 5 weeks to learn the Patriots offense and playbook. He had a whole 1.5 weeks to learn ours before he started a game. What can you honestly expect him to do? He has not had a full offseason with a team since the 2019 season when he got hurt in the preseason. Hopefully he comes back next year but I doubt it.
  9. When he first got here he said he didn't believe in firing coordinators or assistant coaches
  10. Henderson must be over a 100 passer rating when targeted since he's not on this list
  11. Cam was on the roster for less than 3 weeks. He's the last one to blame for Sundays loss some of you are literally brain dead or just plain dislike Cam. Idk, but whatever it is it's very weird
  12. Need to resign Cam to a 1 year deal and have him and Darnold battle it out in camp. Give Cam a legitimate shot to prove he can still lead a franchise. The dude has had to learn the playbook on the fly his last 2 seasons in the NFL w/ no offseason with his teammates...QB is the most important position when establishing timing and comfort level within the scheme anyone expecting Cam to play lights out on such short notice is asking quite a lot especially with this offensive line and an injured CMC. ALL of our resources this offseason need to go into the O-Line. Even if its at the expense of resigning some of our defensive FA's. I'd much rather have O-Line help than Reddick, Gilmore, and Jackson (Would love to resign Reddick if we can manage it though) Rhule gets a 3rd season to prove this team can be trending in the right direction. Bringing in a new HC and FO with the draft picks we have and the cap situation next year is not a smart move. Give Rhule a 3rd season and if he fails we likely end up with a top 5-10 pick and that's when you make the move to hire a new regime
  13. I feel the Carolina Panthers best solution is to continue to grind out the season and maybe get to 7 or 8 wins by years end if we're lucky. Let the team continue to learn together through trial by fire. Rhule gets a 3rd and final year to show real improvement in the team which I feel is fair. We've added a lot of new players in a short amount of time, give them the rest of the year and an entire offseason to grow and learn together. Bring Cam back for at least 1 more year and let him, Darnold, and PJ battle it out in TC. We have no draft picks. There are no Qbs worth tanking for in this draft, worst case scenario we suck even worse next year, fire Rhule, secure a top pick with a new HC that has a full draft at his disposal. Bringing in a new HC this offseason would do nothing productive. Let Rhule try and focus on the O-line, let Donte go in FA, resign Reddick, bring in some O-lineman and d-lineman and see if we can make a run at the playoffs next year.
  14. I'm surprised the OP has enough brain cells to login to the internet and actually post this drivel....sheesh
  15. I'm the emotional one that needs to grow up? But you are the one that is "reporting, blocking, and ignoring" me. LOL. Keep living in your "fantasy world" little guy
  16. By progression you are talking about seasons 2011 -> 2012 correct? The years in which we went 6-10 and then 7-9? Well if Rhule manages to win 2 more games this year that puts us at a 7-10 record. The 2012 Carolina Panthers were 3-8 during Rivera's 2nd season as HC before closing out the season with a 5-1 record. Was that clear progression evident when the 2012 team was 2-8 during the first 10 weeks of that season? No, it wasn't it looked a lot like regression from 2011. I imagine these forums then looked a lot like they do right now.
  17. 5-11 -> 7-10 is technically an improvement no matter how ugly it looked at times. Like I've been saying you don't go after a "program builder" sign him to a 7 year deal to fire him after 2 seasons especially since its the first HC you ever hired. Has nothing to do with money
  18. Oh no you're going to block/ignore me? :((((((( You have no idea how sad that is going to make me
  19. Sure you can assume that it would be easy for anyone to assume that about a team thats played like this one has the last 2 weeks
  20. I don't care either way maybe adjust your reading glasses or something? Let me summarize my last 5 posts to help you understand. I. Was. Against. The. Matt. Rhule. Coaching. Hire. And. He. Signed. A. 7. Year. Contract. As. A. Program. Builder. So. We. Are. Likely. Going. To. See. Him. Get. At. Least. 3. Seasons. As. Coach. Of. The. Carolina. Panthers. Did that help you understand? Let me know I can try crayon next
  21. This is the NFL nothing ever works out 100% the way it's supposed to. Bottom line Rhule is highly likely to see a 3rd season as much as you people who have suddenly turned on him don't want that to be true
  22. Regardless of where this team is at currently it was going to take longer than two seasons. That was a known fact when he was hired, go back and read the thread at all of the people that were okay with it and "in it for the long haul" well this is what that looks like.
  23. No one here has access or knows anyone with direct access to that locker room and has no idea what is going on behind closed doors. Is it possible? Maybe. Definitive? Absolutely not
  24. Jackass I've been one of the few that was against the Rhule hire when it happened, even got banned off the main forum for a bit for voicing my displeasures but nontheless he was hired to a 7 year contract and is a PROGRAM BUILDER meaning he rarely has had success in the first year or two at the places he's been. I would assume he'd get at least 3 years before he was fired whether your whine and cheese ass wants to believe it or not it is likely to happen
  25. Rivera got 3 years to start winning and I'm sure Matt Rhule with his 7 year contract will get at least 1 more year as well. Rivera was 6-10 and 7-9 and a lot of people were saying the same thing about him not being HC material...he then won 2 COY awards. Rhule is a program builder which means it was going to take time to see winning results. A lot of you, like 99% of you were on board with this hire when it happened and even said you'd be willing to give him 3-4 seasons before you expected a playoff team, well it's only year 2. Lots of cap room next year to fix the oline and retool the defense, Cam should be brought back on another 1 year deal this time with a full offseason w/ the team under his belt in a make or break it year and then go from there. No young QBs to grab in next years draft so if we suck again next year we'll at least be in position to grab a young QB with a new HC the next year if it doesnt workout.
