Announcer: “His little jump pass is knocked away”
Mr Mojo Risin replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
He some how managed to regress from last year. Probably because the offense is more complicated with all of the motion? Hard to believe because if there was one "strength" he had it was the ability to process an NFL offense? Process what was happening on the field? Process a coloring book? I have no idea at this point but some how he has managed to look worse than last year. There isn't a bigger sign that he just flat out can't play at this level. We will not win a single game if he stays under center all year. That sucks to have to admit but its the truth. -
At this point I'd take Brucey from the Longest Yard over Bryce. This is tough to watch.
-
Pretty much. Once I saw he was still on his tippy toes and jump throwing the ball the worst nightmare for this franchise was all but confirmed. We drafted a bust with the #1 overall pick after trading a massive haul. There is still a small chance, very small chance they can get it turned around by the end of the year but his mechanics and lack of athleticism make it virtually improbable

We had the worst graded OG play in NFL History last year...how many times did Ickey not block his man and completely whiff? Come on now. But yes Bryce was most definitely the problem this past Sunday and it wasnt close. Well maybe it was kind of close the defense gave up 9 scoring drives in a row that's not very good but still. That was probably Bryce's worst performance or close to it since he's been here

Bryce could be a future cautionary tale...

They had more change than just the QB btw. -

I mean the entire Texans organization deserves credit it's not all Stroud. Stroud is a big part of it sure but their success has been the marriage of the front office and football operations all being on the same page and being able to identify players that fit their scheme to put their franchise QB in a place where he can have success. It's what all the good organizations do. We haven't been able to find that recipe and it shows. It isn't all on just 1 person. How many times is Stroud throwing to a wide open receiver? A lot of it does have to do with the scheme they run. Bryce had wide open throws yesterday that he didn't really have year 1 and he missed them and that's the difference. Stroud probably has a good year if he was on our team this year. Last year though? I think he struggles, maybe not as bad as Bryce but he definitely wouldn't have been as good year 1 like he was with the Texans -

Nico Collins and Tank Dell are better than any WR we've had here since DJ Moore. Cool Nico didn't do much before Stroud, that doesn't take away that his skill set fit that offense to a T. Adam Thielen hadn't had a 1,000 yard season in 4 seasons before he played with Bryce. So it doesn't matter. Then they doubled down on that success by adding Mixon and Steffon Diggs which is again way more than the Panthers gave their QBs. That is why I brought up the Texans. -

There's nothing die hard about my support for Bryce. It's a thing called logic. An undersized rookie QB was in an impossible situation last year. He also happened to play for my favorite team. Look around the league and how teams surround their young QBs with playmakers. The Bears, Texans, Bengals, Titans, Jaguars are all examples of how to build around your QB. The Panthers are the only ones to take weapons away from theirs. Also the scheme was old and outdated and changed multiple times. With a better supporting cast and a better scheme there was reason to believe Young could at least be a decent QB. Unfortunately he isn't and now we're all fuged for yet another season if that gets you bozos off then have at it, enjoy your Sundays! -

I mean go ahead and celebrate about being right that Young is dog sh*t and this team is going to suck for yet another season. What an amazing thing to be right about lol. Unfortunately it isn't going to make your Sundays anymore fun, sorry about that. -
Always heard Carolina was a great place to retire. Seems like that's all we do these days. Coaches and players alike
-
Yea unfortunately I'm in the same boat. There's no more excuses after last year. I think he gets a few more games before the rug is pulled out from under him. You have to wonder just how much Canales is tied to Bryce. I'm sure he was hired to "fix" him or at least make him serviceable. I wonder if Canales even has the freedom to bench him. I have a feeling Tepper is still meddling behind the scenes

We've been fortunate to have some great off ball LBers in our day. Morgan, Na'il Diggs, Sam Mills, Witherspoon, Beason, Davis, James Anderson, Kuechly, and Thompson. Shaq definitely belongs in that list albeit more towards the bottom of it

There were people openly questioning whether this team could compete at a college level last season (some still do). The starters looking like they did against NFL back ups should have all of the doubters feeling like a little kid on Christmas morning.

Projecting the Panthers' Offensive Roster
Mr Mojo Risin replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is also what we said last year. Just take a quick peak around the NFL and see how many teams would you rather take our skill position players over theirs (WR, TE, RB). Just as much as the Panthers have yet to find a QB successor to Cam Newton they've also failed to learn how to build around a young QB because I'd trade with just about every team in the league except for maybe a small few. -
REPORT: Panthers changed the offense 3 times last season

I live in Indiana and heard about the same but was hoping they didnt know what they were talking about. Turns out they did! -
REPORT: Panthers changed the offense 3 times last season
Mr Mojo Risin replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is definitely some truth to what you say but Bryce was not the main reason of discord within the offensive coaching staff. Everything was thrown together without a real clue or concrete plan in place including the selection of Young. I think our offense will be better just on the fact that they will be more aligned on what its going to take to be successful on offense with the players we have versus the "throw it at the wall and see if it sticks approach" we had last year. I dont think well be top 10 but at least watchable and in more games than we were last year forsure. -
REPORT: Panthers changed the offense 3 times last season
Mr Mojo Risin replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lmao. What about the fact that NONE of the coaches on offense had any connection between them when they were hired? Despite being an all star staff none of them ever really coached with one another and they all came from different football backgrounds. Could it be they just couldn't all get on the same page as to how to develop a rookie QB? Or what type of offensive philosophy/plays to run? Let's not continue to act like Bryce was in a good situation last year and he let the team down. The only way we were going to be successful on offense last season was if Bryce came in and played like a one man wrecking crew and that was not the type of player he was touted to be coming out of college. Those that think Stroud would have come onto this team with the lack of weapons and a depleted struggling oline with too many "cooks" in the kitchen and had the year he had last year with the Texans are kidding yourselves. -
What is the benefit to benching starters for the preseason?
Mr Mojo Risin replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean you kind of answered yourself. Panthers starters played last preseason and how much difference did it make? Still the worst team in football. Maybe preseason doesn't matter. If you're going to be terrible you're going to be terrible nothing about running vanilla schemes and half ass game plans in the preseason for 20 total plays is going to make any sort of difference -
Prayers up for Mr. Scot hoping everything works out in his favor
-
He was frustrated he fell and didn't get more yardage. Wasn't a celebration.
-
I feel like some of that is just poor communication from the oline overall. Not saying I haven't seen him whiff his share of pass pro but the times he has a guy lined up over him and he chooses to go after someone else tells me the oline isn't communicating the protections properly. They were also very poor at handling stunts

Ian Rapoport on Bryce: "Everyone had Bryce Young #1"
Mr Mojo Risin replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
He beat him in a head to head matchup. I think that would count as something he does better
