Money, market, and QB was the reason he went there. Can’t blame him. We still have good choices. I’d prefer either Brian Johnson or Duce Staley. Both are not going to be required to call plays but can really improve on something we need a kick start in. RB for whoever we bring in to lead the backfield since Hubbard is best as a complementary piece or QB to add an extra layer of development.

Burns should only be traded if the ask for his contract is astronomical and doesn’t make sense for our future and leverage in the terrible NFCS in the near future. If they do in fact trade him it will be for picks either predominantly in this draft and or next. I’m not for or against it. I just feel the value and cap have to align to even want to do it. Now if they can get a first this year and some pieces fall in place getting Tyree Wilson or Myles Murphy and still having a top 25 first to match would be more than ideal.

We will not trade up for a QB. Depending on price we will possibly look to get Carr and see what kind of potential Corral has. We will trade down in the draft or stand Pat and get Mayer. If we do not get him we will target a trade down to get more picks and sign Schultz. Reich loves TEs we have a blocking on locked up Tremble is a make or break year. We need a a stud and there’s 3-4 in the draft.

Biggest needs that can be satisfied in the draft are WR LB and RB. Young talent at those positions are deep this year and way cheaper than signing in FA. If a QB falls in our lap Reich and Fitt like so be it. If not get BPA while trying to fill needs simultaneously. I for one wouldn’t mind another bad season if it meant a shot at Caleb Williams next year or a surprise trade for Burns during this draft to get sexier this year and next. If we did trade him Luke Van Ness or Andre Carter ll would be awesome to get to supplant if this scenario played out.

Tanner McKee come on down.

I’m ok with either Reich or Wilks as long as the OC and DC are young and or innovative. Keeping Campen and Tabor are borderline musts also. Wildcard that would make me elated is adding Luke to the staff and stealing Brian Griese from the 9ers.

A system QB in a good system is better than a QB with all the tangibles and talent in the world in a solid to mediocre one. Ask Herbert and Allen how their talent has equated to a conference championship appearance.

This aged well, lmao.

Cut Shaq and Elfein to save 17 million. Restructure and or extend Burns, Luvu, Jackson, Thomas, Ioannidis, Moore. Free up about 35-40 million. FA Wish List: Jessie Bates lll Josh Jacobs Dalton Schultz Zach Allen TJ Edwards Ben Powers Mike Gesicki Tony Pollard Dalton Risner Evan Engram Any combination of these guys will fill holes and give us the best chance at BPA in the early rounds of the draft.

Watching Jalen Hurts sort of hurts.....
TJKJ23xx replied to YourLastThought's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly Hurts and Fields don't do it for me. They are more Mike Vick than Cam Newton. If anything Lamar Jackson is the one I wish we took a flier on. The Offense John Harbaugh runs doesn't do him justice let alone the personnel they have. Imagine LJ with at least one competent WR and consistent running game that isn't continually mired in injuries. Hurts has been good don't get me wrong but Jackson is a tier above. -
Extremely knowledgeable and unbiased. Hope he has a long successful career and can call a Panthers SB one day.

If Young or Levis aren't there at 9 I say BPA based on value or need. Mayer or Bijan Robinson are growing on me and I feel the combine will only boost their stock. Don't get me wrong QB is the most prominent need but none jump off the page to me in this draft, if only Caleb Williams was available this year then I would say to hell with it sell the farm for him.

Every mock draft I have done I have been looking at one of but not limited to Zach Charbonnet, Jamyr Gibbs,Devon Achane, Dewayne McBride and Tankg Gibson. I really hope we draft someone with fresh legs to pair with Chuba. I like D'Onta don't get me wrong but he's 27 and we need to manage the cap we have stringently while still maintaning our core and identity.

I hope we take a shot at Lamar Jackson, Derek Carr, etc. If none of those guys work out giving Corral a shot to develop while taking BPA early and depth needs later could either set us up to take advantage of a weak division next year. If not at least we know what we have in Corral and can draft accordingly next year. Which in turn would equate to a shot at Caleb Williams and I would not mind trading the farm for him at all.

I wouldn't trade up for any of these QB's tbh.

I'm 100% ok with Reich because of his consistency in finding solid young coordinators. The empathetic human in me wants Wilks for a feel good SB but I cant really fathom that happening unless he strikes gold with his coordinators. Unfortunately he has the similar mindset Rivera had and that's what kept us from getting over the hump. Now if he throws a curveball and says he wouldn't promote Holcomb to DC, then we might have a more favorable scenario and I cant see that happening.
