Last year we were told Willis might be a top 10 pick. Pickett ended up being the first Qb selected and that was in the 20s then the rest rounds later. Every year people have opinions, then the teams actually make the picks. What college staffers say can be taken with a grain of salt but you have to remember the tape and what they say are how the scouts formulate opinions to share with the NFL teams FO that are weighted pretty heavily in the draft selection process. So I would heed their warnings or their not so popular opinions because they have more time around these guys than the likes of Mel Kiper Jr and the other talking heads.

People are shitting on Corral all because of one preseason game that Rhule had him out there with nobody that even made the team let alone practice squad. Before that there was so much hope he’d be the diamond in the rough. Give the guy a shot before saying anything dumb. Especially when you’ve never even played a down yourself.

How I see it our holes and how we fix them need to align more with the new Offensive and Defensive systems we are about to run. Offense: TE - Reich loves to utilize TEs in so many ways and our current group leaves a lot to be desired. FA has a lot of options and the draft has a pretty solid 4 that look to be future stars. RB - Not only do we run the ball well but in Indy they had a pretty good rushing game also. I can see a few new faces in the RB room this year. IOL - The line did very well last year. There were some growing pains but outside of that I feel we are pretty solid minus depth and Christensen's growth/ Corbett's injury. Some movement here would be nice to see late 2nd or after and in FA. WR - We look pretty good here potential-wise but on paper we leave a lot to be desired, TMJ is the biggest question mark. If he performs to his potential we might have a pretty good 1-2 punch. I still feel we are missing that deep threat that has to make the opposing Defense stay honest. I wouldn't mind a Nathaniel "Tank" Dell for a nice speed WR that can also be a ST threat. He will most likely not last past our second pick in the 2nd round so that is a tough decision for me to make in need vs want. QB - The elephant in the room the biggest need. One of the many reasons we did not make the turn after Wilks took over and to become a playoff team. I am so torn with this decision. I would love trafe up for the guy we want, but is it worth the price? I would also love one of the top 4 to be there at 9 but then I also like the idea of trading down and getting more holes filled. I don't hate the idea of a FA but then deja vu will kick in and it will feel almost like we are going down the same path of the past few years. Whatever we do I am at least confident Reich will be more successful this coming season than our last 4. Defense EDGE - Man would it have been nice to see YGM blossom into the player the draft pundits made us think he would be. He is not horrible but for a 2nd rounder that was deemed a 1st round talent he really leaves a lot to be desired. I think the Switch to 3-4 could really help us determine if he can become a solid contributor or an easy to stomach decision once his contract is up. I like a lot of the guys coming out this year but with the looming possibility of trading up for a QB I feel we will look into FA options here. LB - This to me is the biggest need outside of QB. A MLB/Mike is the QB/Heart of the defense for most teams and seldom do you see a team successfully contend year after year without having an anchor overseeing the defense or a very deep room. The amount of talent in this year's draft is really making it hard for me to see us passing up on one in 2nd-5th I feel there will be 1 if not 2 drafted and or signed. We dont exactly need another Keuchely but we sure do need someone to elevate the defense situationally. Chinn could be the in house answer since he has looked better at LB but it is undeniable our defense has been lacking good LB play for quite a while. DL - This is a hard one to peg. We have a few bodies to throw out there but are severly lacking with what a 3-4 will require. DB would most likely be an EDGE but we dont have a big body anchor to secure the line. I would personally love Mazi Smith or Siaki Ika, they are some big bodies that have shown their ability to translate their talents to the next level. Having someone on like that on the line next to DB would not only create a mismatch nightmare but ensure our ability to stop the run wouldn't falter and honestly open up a chance for Barno, YGM or whoever else is playing opposite them some pass rush opportunities while the opposing OL is using 3-4 bodies to block two large men. S - Outside of Woods who has his own deficiencies this will be the weakest group unless we use Chinn as a Joker/SS and run 3 DBs out there in most packages. Thankfully safeties come cheap and can be found in almost any round. This isnt a concerning need as of now but we still need to ensure that it isnt forgotten about like teams of Ron Rivera past. CB - This is an interesting position group. On paper we have a very solid group but in execution and consistency we feel let down year after year with injuries and CJ Henderson's lack of engagement. I feel it would be best to get a guy in the drafter rather than commit more money to a group that shouldnt need too much help. I feel we have a solid foundation to get over the hump and make it back to the playoffs next year. A few injuries held us back last year from sneaking in but the way we responded to change after Rhule left was more than inspiring. We need to cut ties or restructure Shaq. Move some numbers and bring in some veteran leadership and depth that will be more acclimated with the 3-4 and just kill it in the draft. Whether that be go all in for QB or get BPA in every single round. I love what we are doing so far and April cant come soon enough to get closer to this new chapter in Panthers history. Keep Pounding!

Things are coming together pretty well. Very I trusted to see how the offensive staff is put together. I have a feeling a few current Eagles staffers are coming since no movement with JBC. Maybe even a Chiefs staff member, but this only speculation because of the delay with the SB this weekend. I hope to see an emphasis on TE this year with a new personnel group and intuitive mind coaching them up.

It’s sad but inevitable. He will help the secondary but his lack of blitzing and soft cover zones late leave a lot to be desired.

PFF Top 100 Free Agents and their projected contract
TJKJ23xx replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Between FA and the draft we need in this order. QB LB DT TE EDGE RB WR OL I would've had RB higher but I'm liking the RB by committee outlook unless we find a gem in day 2 or later of the draft. WR is in a good place if TMJ properly develops, we just need someone to stretch the field a Nathaniel Dell type WR would be great but he will go in the 2-3 most likely. TE is a must and I wouldn't be surprised if we get 2. Thomas is a great blocker and can sneak a few solid catches here and there. I'm not fully sure what we have in Tremble but I haven't given up on him yet but we still need that reliable middle of the field athletic TE. DT and EDGE will be what makes or breaks our new D and I feel we alreayd have some things in mind with the FA coming available soon. I want to see us go hard for a LB or 2 whether it's with one of our 2nds on Jack Campbell or Drew Sanders. Lastly we need to get QB right. Whether thats giving Corral a real shot and giving a 2-3 year contract to a Carr or solid B to give us time to develop or build. Or if we want to go all in on a QB in this draft it better be one of Stroud, Levis or Richardson. I prefer a QB that can move in the pocket to create when the play breaks down, run RPO and bootlegs like Reich was calling during the last Eagles SB run. I would love it to be the likes of Drake Maye or Caleb Williams next year but time is of the essence and tomorrow is never guaranteed. TLDR; Lets win us a fugin SB boys!!! -
I hope he sees that we are better suited for a 3-4 or atleast a hybrid that can adapt to the personnel of the team we are playing. We need to get heavier up front and pair someone with DB so he can unleash his pass rush and not just be a run stuffer. We need to bring in some athletic intelligent LBs and possibly get a new FS and move Chinn to LB/SS.

If we hire Brian Johnson then we will have 3 African Americans as major coordinators, which might be a first in the NFL. Tepper is being a man of his word and giving REAL opportunities to black coaches. The dipshits in the media keep disrespecting us black folk and telling the NFL owners to do some affirmative action bs rather than give us the tools to succeed and perfect our craft. The way we are doing it is the right way take great talent, elevate them and then the coaching gigs will come as they are deserved. Mr. Tepper you are starting to get a little momentum to be looked upon more positively by Panther nation going forward in the near future!

Panthers Request Interview w/ Evero for DC
TJKJ23xx replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Called it! -
This hire not only gives me a raging boner but gives me a major vote of confidence that Reich was the right coach. He knows how to assemble a staff. I was hoping for years we would go to 3-4 and now we have a match made in heaven with the coordinator coming in. Burns, Luvu and Chinn are about to shine. God this is the best off season in recent memory.

Panthers Request Interview w/ Evero for DC
TJKJ23xx replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
We will pay him to come here and even though the Vikings had a better record last year our defense would be better to leave a mark on and be able to get a HC gig from in the future. I think he’s a lock to be announced DC in the next few days. -

Steve Smith on the Wilks vs Reich debate
TJKJ23xx replied to methodtoll's topic in Carolina Panthers
https://deadspin.com/carolina-panthers-david-tepper-frank-reich-steve-wilks-1850070637 After reading this article I have come to the conclusion many people just want to see black HCs just for the sake of it being a bragging right. This is equivalent to affirmative action that was being misused by the companies forced to head to the new rules. Being black and seeing this kind of perspective disgusts me. I want a coach that is good no matter the skin color. Opportunities aren’t as prevalent for black coaches, yes but to search and cause so much fuss over a cut and dry situation with a jaded lense is honestly the main problem with the internet and cancel culture today. If Wilks had shown something that could unquestionably show he could turn this franchise around, I’d have been all on board. He unfortunately played it too safe and missed opportunities to get to the playoffs that were handed to him on a silver platter. We didn’t need another Rivera we need an offensive minded coach that will adapt to the league rather than force feed old school football on each and every opponent. -
Draft Simulator (Lets see What You Got)
TJKJ23xx replied to Daddy_Uncle's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nflmockdraftdatabase has a completely different big board than PFF I wonder which is going to be more accurate come April since a lot of these players are going up to 4 rounds different from the other mock draft site -
I feel very strongly about this... Derek Carr.
TJKJ23xx replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I didn’t say them did I? Don’t assume. Young and Stroud look better but not for the cost to get. I’d rather give Corral a shot and get Carr. -

TJKJ23xx replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Have you seen the tape on Richardson and Levi’s. Corral doesn’t look too bad from his college tape after seeing those break downs from JT. If you are so pressed to get a QB don’t be biased in your evaluation. My opinion is mine to think and to share. Until something happens don’t post a contradicting statement someone can reference back to when your “hot take” looks like hot garbage. -

I’d prefer him over reaching for a QB in this draft. Especially since Corrals tape looks better than most that may be available at our pick. -

I’d be more than ok with this. -
Gotta respect him for that lol

What round would you target a DE and has any names piqued your interest.
-
Hopefully Ejiro Evero is an option. Strange how his name hasn’t come up yet. Whoever they bring in should be fine tbh Reich had solid defenses with the Colts, so I’m not too worried.

Since I can’t message you I will say this publicly. I two of your posts because I did not agree. You in turn get butt hurt and search days back to find posts of mine and do the same to two also. Basically “eye for an eye” mentality. You’re over 50 dude grow up not everyone will like your opinion. What you did was weak. Do better. -
