  1. My opinion: We need "a Bill Polian" to be President to handle the football side. Hire a GM, coach, scouts, etc. Real estate, politics, etc. shouldn't be the job of the life-long football guy.
  2. I'll continue to pound this drum: It doesn't matter as long as Tepper is CEO. He needs to hire a CEO/President who oversees the entire operation; a leader; a visionary; a FOOTBALL man. That person who then put together the plan and HE would hire the GM and then he and the GM would hire the coach. First step, find a Bill Polian type to be your consultant to identify this Leader/Visionary. That person IS out there. You just need someone to help you find him. And when you find him, you make him an offer he can't refuse. First name I have is: John Lynch, 49ers. Hire him as President/CEO.
  3. As I posted last week: I knew we were in trouble when the first thing he did was retain Marty Hurney. That told us that he had NO football contacts. And as we've seen now for five years, he doesn't. He and his wife are apparently making all the decisions on a GM and Coach.
  4. Dave "Daniel Snyder, Ted Stepian, Robert Irsay, Donald Sterling" Tepper.
  5. He continues to make the same mistake over and over and over. That is: HE is the CEO of the organization. On Day 1, he needed to hire a "Bill Polian" to be CEO/President. A football man who would then hire the GM, Coach, Scouts, etc. I don't know who that person is. But if you gave me the consultant job, I can guarantee you I can do the research to find out who that person is. That Leader who is at the top of the food chain. Find that Leader and then make him an offer he can't refuse. When he retained Marty Hurney and didn't clean house immediately, I knew we were in trouble. Why? Because it showed he didn't have his own football people. As long as Tepper is CEO, this franchise is going nowhere. Even worse than before.
  6. Agree 100%. The Panthers are now Washington. Since 2019, there is one common denominator in the Panther's never ending chase for that elusive QB. That is David Tepper. From Bridgewater to Darnold to Mayfield to Young. All Tepper. His impatience has nearly destroyed this franchise. In 2020, just go with who you got and lose. Don't trade draft picks. Just lose. Just about everyone would have understood. Rebuild. Start from scratch. Reboot. And then...they signed Bridgewater. And some of us wondered: Why if this is a rebuild? The Bridgewater signing was the first indication that this owner was never going to rebuild. Which has led to a complete Cluster ----. I have NO DOUBT this franchise would be better off if I was running things. Why? Because I would get the ----out of the way and find a football guy to run things. Not simply a GM. But a President that oversees the entire operation. Bring in someone like Bill Poiian as a consultant in 2019 to put the pieces together...build a front office. Find another hobby folks. This cluster ---- isn't going to get better. Daniel Snyder clone.
  7. It's gonna be even worse in April when Chicago has the first pick in the draft and drafts Williams or Maye.
  8. Gosh. I didn't know that. Seriously, you truly believe putting together a football team is ALL about "developing players." How long have you followed the sport? A year? I guess in your world you could go round up 5 or 6 guys at the rec center and then the coaches will "develop them." In your world, the work the scouts and GM do to find players is a waste of time.
  9. "we could of done a lot with those draft picks." Really? What? I now have zero confidence in the GM. He's proving to be worse than Hurney. Hurney hit home runs in the first round. This guy hits home runs in NO round.
  10. Here is an example of why the GM should be released either now or after the season. Preferably now. Offensive lines are not built with first round draft picks. They are built by personnel people who know what they are doing. A fourth rounder here, a free agent there, a first rounder for your left tackle. Fitt has now had three years to get this right. He hasn't Yes, it takes time to build a team at your SKILL positions. NOT at offensive line. OL development is done by someone who knows what they are doing. Scouts, Coaching and GM. There is NO excuse, after three years, Bryce Young (or Stroud or whomever) should have had to walk in to this mess.
  11. NONE. And most of us saw that last March.
  12. would have been nice to have when Williams and Maye enter the draft in '24.
  13. They are looking at 1-16 or 2-15. And no 1st round pick. That should be it for the GM.
  14. Not familiar with? I'm not surprised. Yes, the general consensus in the winter and spring was there was not a "franchise" QB in the 2023 draft. You either 1) Didn't do ANY research then or 2) you choose to forget. So, please share where you saw that Young, Stroud and Richardson were future "franchise" QBs. I NEVER saw anyone say that. Each had serious question marks. That's all I'll say since you bring nothing to refute my point.
  15. As I said, you don't keep up. Please. Find the quote where someone said there was a Burrow, etc. in the 2023 draft. You won't find it. The evaluation of Young was he "would be" in that category if he were three inches taller. Richardson? Definitely not. Stroud. The evaluation of him was he couldn't improvise. Accurate passer stuck with his primary receiver. NONE of these guys were projected to be great, franchise QBs like Williams or Maye. As I said, keep up. You're just on here talking out your ***. My guess is you have no idea how to do a little research. What I just wrote was readily available last spring for anyone who can read.
  16. You must have been asleep last winter and spring.
  17. This has 1-16 written all over it. Except, no first round pick.
  18. "Like, even in our February meetings, where every scout had the same opinion on this guy." Are these the same scouts who have been evaluating talent for the Panthers for the past 25 years?
  19. Just an opinion but...it didn't really matter who liked who. The experts, for the most part, believed their weren't any franchise QBs in the 2023 draft. Tepper has been trying to find the magic QB since 2020 -- Bridgewater, then Darnold, then Mayfield, now Young. He has continually forced the issue instead of just being patient. Go 2-15, keep the draft picks and build a solid team over several drafts. Young, Stroud, Richardson -- none will be elite.
  20. I posted a month ago: You can't recreate what Bill B has done at New England, etc. How many times have teams hired someone from NE expecting NE results? A lot. Same with Pete Carroll at Seattle. Panthers brought in a Seattle guy expecting Pete Carroll results. IT DON'T HAPPEN.
  21. I said at the time that whoever made the decision to bring in Darnold should be fired immediately. Who made these QB decisions? Rhule? Fitt? We know that Rhule had nothing to do with the trade to get Young. Young likely will be a good NFL QB. But...trade two firsts and your best receiver? No. A mortgage your franchise QB? Again, no.
  22. I have no idea what kind of career Sam Howell will have. That said, anyone who watched Sam Howell play in college AND watched Matt Corral play in college and decided to draft Corral...well, that person should not be involved in any NFL personnel decisions in the future.
  23. I'm not saying that one day Young will be a good NFL QB. But from what I've seen, I don't think he will be good enough that warranted what the Panthers gave up for him. I'm no longer a Fitterer guy. That said, the Young trade was likely not his. That was the owner's decision to continually put together bad deals in a desperate effort to find a QB. The past four years, they've done something stupid in the offseason trying to find the QB messiah. Right now, Fitterer is looking worse than Hurney. At least Hurney made some great first round picks. I have yet to see a great first round pick by Fitterer.
  24. Being objective: He looks like yet another impatient, over reaction by the owner. One panic move after another by the Dave Tepper to find a QB. Bridgewater, Darnold, Mayfield and now Young. Young may be a solid NFL QB. But a franchise QB that you trade Moore, your 2023 1st Round pick and your 2024 1st round pick to get? NO! He's not that. Four years of "trying to win now" instead of just sucking for one season and building from square one. And now, if this is the season they do suck and go 2-15...they have no First Round pick. The experts said last January: There are no franchise QBs in the 2023 draft. But, once again, Tepper had to have his damned QB. To win, you HAVE to be patience, something Tepper will never have.
