We don't need a QB that's just better than Mayfield, Darnold, Bridgewater. We need a QB that's a franchise QB. Carr is not a franchise QB. So if you sign Carr you better be prepared to stick with him for the next 4 years because we wont be in position to draft the top QB's and we won't be competing for SB's either. There is no in between with Carr. If we want mediocrity just sign Carr and be done with it. If we want a franchise QB then trade up and get him.
-
If you're not willing to trade up for a QB then you simply wont get your QB. Sign Carr we will just enough games to not be able to get WIlliams/Maye next year. So when we want our franchise QB we will have to wait until Tepper is stingy enough to trade for one. You can't expect a franchise QB and not give up assets to get him.
-
Unfortunately this will be the case every year because you are going to be in the same postion next year because the bridge QB won you just enough games to not get the top QB's in the draft. At some point you have to bite the bullet and trade up for your guy. If not we will be signing bridge QB's every year.

Everybody knows that's about money. They already offered him a deal. He just wants more money. Im talking about the non franchise QB's who get cut or traded by their teams. We just tried that with Mayfield and we about to repeat the same mistake with Carr. These guys are getting cut and let go for a reason.
-
We been building a bridge for 3 years. How long does the bridge have to be? We all know Carr is not a franchise QB. So why pay him 30mil a year to take us nowhere? Go draft our franchise QB and stop taking everyone else trash. These teams move from these QB's for a reason. Only Stafford has worked out on a new team and that's because he was traded to a damn superteam. We are not a superteam and Carr is not the answer. Franchise QB is what we need. The bridge is done.

Im seeing a lot of members saying they wouldn't be mad at signing a 32 year old Carr for 30mil a year and using the #9 pick on another position. I don't get why people continue to repeat the same trend as we have for the past 3 years. This franchise has gone downhill ever since Cam got injured. There was a time we had a true franchise star QB Cam Newton. We happened to make it to the Super Bowl and dominated the regular season because we had a true star QB who could take over games. Derek Carr no disrespect but he's a JAG. There is no upside with him. He's not taking us to a SB. I thought the goal was to finally get our franchise QB instead we look to be headed in the same direction as the last 3 years. Taking someone else castoff QB and expecting them to turn our franchise around. Carr literally has 1 playoff appearance in his entire 9 year career. Yet people are totally fine giving him 30 mil a year to take this team nowhere for the next 3-4 years. It's a reason the Raiders are moving on from him. Carr is a trap and we are falling for it again. Just like Mayfield, Darnold, Bridgewater. Why do you guys continue to fall for these vet castoff QB's that become available every offseason?

The goal is to get a franchise QB! What are we talking about. So we pass on a franchise QB to take another aging 32 year old QB who has 1 playoff appearance on his resume? I want another Cam Newton type talent. We actually made a SB with this kind of QB. Who wants to play for mediocrity every year with Derek Carr. I just don't understand why fans are against adding a franchise QB. We been sitting on draft picks for years. If there is a chance to get a true Franchise QB you do it. But I guess all fans don't think like me...
-
Carr has 1 playoff appearance in his entire career. Please don't ever mention him in the same conversation as Lamar Jackson respectfully.
-
I can't believe the amount of people who actually want to sign him. Like what happened to the franchise QB talk for the last 3 years... Im seeing people say they rather have a 32 year old Derek Carr over a 26 year old former MVP candidate Lamar Jackson.lmao
-
Please let him go to the Saints! Nobody is fearing Carr in this division. That's also helps us in the draft the Saints were ahead of us looking for a QB.
-
You can't say "they want to win now" and suggest Derek Carr is the best option.lmao Carr been in the league for 9 years and has 1 playoff appearance. Win now and Carr is out of the picture. If we trying to win now go get the QB's who actually do it aka Lamar/Rodgers.
-
Or how about we just draft a QB? There is no upside with Carr. Good guy but not someone who can be a consistent playoff QB. We need a franchise QB not another castoff QB who happens to be 32 years old!
-
The media has been pushing Carr to us because we aren't a sexy market. Notice how they put all the true franchise QB's like Lamar and Rodgers to the bigger market teams like Las Vegas and NY. Then we get stuck with the mid QB's like Carr and Jimmy G. Just draft our QB for once.
-
That's not my point. Point is Derek Carr would our QB. A 32 year old QB looking for a long term contract and stability and has 1 playoff appearance on his resume. You don't want to be in a situation for the next 3 years we are led by a aging QB with no ceiling. Carr is a JAG! Why are we wasting time entertaining this?
-
Oh my people actually want Derek Carr.lol How about we get him the best WR in football while we're at it. Yeah we going to make noise with Derek Carr and all these weapons around him. Yall fall for it every year. Welp I guess we will be looking for a QB to draft next year again. #RinseRepeat
-
And how does that help us? Dude had the best WR in football and a top 5 TE. Putting weapons around Carr is not going to make us a better team. Stay away from Carr please!

Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?
CamWhoaaCam replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Im assuming Stroud is off the board if they are trading Fields though. -
I didn't like the hire but unlike others who don't like certain coaches im willing to give him a chance to prove himself. Hope he succeeds!

Say the Bears go QB at #1 and trade Justin Fields...
CamWhoaaCam replied to CamWhoaaCam's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Bears have a new GM who according to Cowherd wants to draft his own QB. I think these rumors will heat up closer to the draft the Bears are not going to say publicly they will trade him as that will decrease his trade value. -

They have a new GM who didn't draft Fields. -

I assume you haven't watched him at all. Dude is running for his life every other play. Then he has no WR's or TE's to throw to. Bears are just a bad team overall. Can't really judge him until he actually get some weapons and a Oline. He could throw well at Ohio State. Im willing to bet he would improve on a team with actual good players. -

Hell yes! Fields has explosive ability as a runner. We seen he can throw when he had a Oline at Ohio State. Put Fields behind this Oline and we got something special. He can pass the problem is he has nothing in Chicago to throw to and had a bad Oline. This kid showed flashes even in a bad situation last year.
