Yep that's exactly what I would do. If we stay at #1 take the QB. I have said this the entire time. If Sanders doesn't want to play here listen to whoever wants to trade up and select him. If the offer is great then take the offer.

I have Ward #4 on my prospects list. My top 4 in order are Sanders/Hunter/Tmac/Ward If we have the #2 pick and Sanders is off the board I'm taking Hunter at #2. Do you understand now? Elite WRs don't win you games. Elite WRs are great to have when you have a elite QB. Have you seen Tyreek Hill without Mahomes? He's not been doing anything with his new team. Calvin Johnson might be the best WR of the last 20 years. How did that work out? Cmon bro this is the #1 pick just because you are down on this QB class doesn't mean everyone else is. Look at the Mock Drafts! My goodness man you have to stop just looking at it from your point of view. Others think this class has 2 elite QBs. Once you understand that you will understand why drafting a QB with #1 makes sense. If we want Tmac trade back if not just take the best QB.

I can't answer your question because I can't see us taking a non QB #1. If we talking #2 pick then I could answer your question. You can't make me answer something that I don't believe will happen. But if it makes you feel better I would probably take Hunter #1 over Tmac just because he's higher on my list of prospects.

You can't tell me I view things in a vacuum when you're not willing to accept that others actually view Ward/Sanders as elite QB prospects. Again look in the mirror before you judge others.

I can't be in your shoes because if we have the #1 pick and you saying we can't trade back in definitely taking the best QB prospect. I get you are down on Sanders and Ward as QB prospects, but that doesn't mean other teams are. I'm confident those 2 will likely go in the top 5. Not sure how you can't understand QBs will always get the benefit of the doubt just because the position is most valuable and most important. Have you thought about if we take Tmac #1 and if Sanders or Ward go on to have a successful rookie season like Daniels or Stroud. Do you know how bad that would make us look as a franchise? Passing on a franchise QB for a WR is just crazy. You can believe what you want. I just don't agree with it.

Because you control the draft with the #1 pick. Everyone has all eyes on you to take the best prospect in the draft. Taking a WR with the #1 pick is dumb unless you have a QB already in place. We don't have a QB! The #2 pick is fair game because that likely means either Sanders or Ward are off the board. If Ward goes #1 and Sanders doesn't want to play here you go for the next best prospect. Tmac is in my top 5 list of prospects. I never said we should take him #2 overall, but I could accept it if that was the case.

I was wrong on Bryce I admitted that a long time ago bud. Did you remember me saying Jayden Daniels should be the #1 pick before the draft? I was right on that. You win some you lose some, but you live to fight another day. But you saying you would take a WR with the #1 pick just shows you how out of touch with reality you are. Use that #1 pick as leverage to trade back and possibly still get Tmac + picks. That's what a smart GM would do. Taking a WR with the #1 pick when you don't even have a QB would be stupid!

Thank you for making it clear you like Tmac and Hunter and not really high on anyone else. So the next time someone mentions Hunter please don't throw a fit. You said you like Hunter so no need to throw a tantrum just because others like Hunter over Tmac. They both great players.

Nobody is questioning Tmac's talent! Calvin Johnson was a unicorn and he had a QB the Lions sucked for most of his career. The problem is WR impact aren't as valuable as the QB. With the #1 pick you have to take that into consideration. Most of the great WRs today are on bad teams Adams/Chase/Lambo/Hill. This game will always value the QB over a WR. The fact that you're seriously all in on Tmac a WR with the #1 pick is wild to me.

Do you have any other prospects you like besides Tmac? I haven't seen you mention anyone besides him as the pick. I get that's your guy, but you have to be open to other prospects as well.

So because he's a projected top 5 pick he's should be the guy we draft. Yet you say the other 2 QBs who are projected top 5 picks are not worth it because you think they aren't that good. That's my problem with you. You just seem to only care about Tmac. I have yet to see you suggest anyone outside of Tmac. At least I'm open to other prospects.

100% agree. Daniels and Stroud came out balling from the jump. Then you have Nix/Caleb who started out slow, but now they are balling. Then you have guys like Bryce/Levis who just don't have the skills or IQ to be successful. Then again they could just be in bad situations with bad franchises. Baker/Darnold left us and got better. So then you can look at the development part and who's coaching these guys. I can see both sides there is no right or wrong answer here because both the coaches and QB's have to meet halfway.

What FA's are you looking at realistically?

We are awful on defense. The offense is fine when Bryce isn't the QB. We have weapons on offense and a decent Oline. Defense is where we need to improve the most. Tmac can help, but is WR really our biggest weakness right now? I just don't agree with taking a WR with the #1 pick. It rarely happens for a reason.
