I have no idea why people think we will sit any QB that is drafted #1 overall. This is not 1990 anymore. These #1 pick rookie QB's play from day 1. That's the only way they will learn. The days of sitting 3 years behind a vet are over especially for the #1 pick.

It wasn't bad in that he cleared up rumors about him not wanting to be a backup. The problem Shannon and a lot of people have is why give a specific list of QB's you would back up? He would have been fine just saying I would accept a backup role for any team. That's how you get more teams interested. He basically just shut off half the league by not mentioning other teams.lol

My man we are not in the meetings. None of us know what's being talked about. He did have a quote before the combine about how the league is now more of a athletic QB that can beat you with his legs or arms comment I remember somebody posting about it. He very well could favor AR. He could also be favoring Young who can also throw and run.

Shannon Sharpe just destroyed Cam on Nat'l tv. Sad to say he was right. Cam making a list of QB's he's willing to backup makes no sense when you been out of the league for 2 years. Sad how Cam is going out.

The sad part is people like this call themselves Panthers fans. Imagine leaving a team because they draft a player you don't like.

I usually agree with safe picks. But we have the #1 overall pick! If Bryce has a higher ceiling you have to take him even with the durability/size concerns. Last thing we want is for Bryce Young to look like a stud for the Texans and we just average with a safe QB. The pressure is all on us. We have our pick of any QB. But we can only pick one and if it isn't the right one we will receive a lot of heat for not getting it right. I like you was Stroud all offseason. For some reason I get this feeling Young is simply the best QB in this draft. Im judging him off what I see on the field. He is the only QB who has the "it factor" imo. He can't make something out of nothing. Those are usually the QB's you need. Stroud is the safe pick no doubt but will he be better than Bryce is where I start questioning the pick. Tough decision...

Good point. We all assumed from his personality he would never take such role. He at least cleared up those rumors. Still giving a list of specific QB's you would back up doesn't make sense. Just say im willing to be a backup in the NFL.

Seems like he's humbled enough. From "there aren't 32 QB's better than me" to "Here's a list of QB's I would backup".

He mentioned Buffalo specifically because of Sean and Dorsey and how they are already familiar with him as a QB.

I think he put the list in preference. Im assuming Howell and the Commanders would be a worst case scenario for him. What I got from that video is he wants to backup Deshaun Watson if it were his choice. I think he is close with Watson or a mentor or something like that.

Seems like Cam is serious about still playing football. Maybe putting this out there from his mouth that he is willing to be a backup will make teams be more comfortable signing him. Of that list Miami seems like the best option for Cam. Tua is injury prone so it will be easy for Cam to come in and back up him up. They also have the best roster of all the teams he mentioned. I wish him the best in whatever happens.
