Was Rhule Blaming the Defense or Acknowledging Something Else**
GRWatcher replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
He said what he did about the defense to show that it's a team sport. He wasn't going to let the media grab onto the narrative that it was only the play of the offense that lost that game. Because the bottom line is: he doesn't want a divided locker room. He's not to going to say that but that is the reason for spreading the blame around. When you start talking about it is when it happens. And that is the last thing any team needs. Matt Rhule is a very smart man. -
Smitty puts the blame yesterday all on the OL
GRWatcher replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not to be nit-picking but I am. It was Al Wallace that ruptured Simms' spleen. Not Peppers. lol Guess who is the Bills' RG? Darryl Williams. Yeah, that Darryl Williams. -
Who's at LG? Brown?

A critique of Darnold through 4 games
GRWatcher replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good luck to the Jets too. Just beat the Falcons tomorrow. That's all I ask of the Jets. -

lol you're asking me? Let me take a wild guess here. Maybe by the end of the 3rd Brady, Ryan, Darnold & the route runners have figured out the adjustments that were made and made their own adjustments. There's also the luxury of time slipping away. Yes, opposing adjustments need to be better anticipated and accounted for. It will come with experience. There's no doubt about that. But it is a team game and it's not all on Sam. -

Or maybe the opponent's DB's have figured a few things out by the 3rd quarter. They practice too. -
Learning from one of the best, that's where our CB room is. Hey, if he can play to his standards after PUP I'll be ecstatic. But that he's here and can teach our young CB's has me downright giddy. Can we do sentence diagraming next? That'll teach him. Please, please, oh please!

A critique of Darnold through 4 games

So I waited until page 17, skipping over the squabbles (some day soon we'll be seeing old fashioned sentence diagrams enter the debates and I'm all for that. My favorite part of English class.). New words for an old problem, taking too long processing used to be holding the ball too long. That it's happening with a "clean" pocket seems to be the problem. I have questions. Biggest is why is the pocket suddenly clean? Could it be that we are in max protect so there are only 2 route runners? And those route runners just may be well covered with no DB turning their hips and Sam is waiting for one of them to create clear separation? This seemed to be the problem in the 1st half. Or could it be that the rush has backed off to instead blanket our route runners and, again, Sam is waiting for clear separation? This seemed to be the problem in the 4th quarter. Then again, it could just be that Sam isn't seeing the full field each time, doesn't know his WR's tendencies and doesn't fully trust that they are on the same page. Why do I say this plus his waiting for clear separation? Because I haven't seen a throw based on timing, a throw to the point where the route runner will be instead of where he is. YET. He's tried a few that didn't work but those will connect with consistency and trust between Sam and his WR's. -
It's all over Twitter.

The Cowboys offensive line committed zero penalties
GRWatcher replied to Eazy-E's topic in Carolina Panthers
Is there a prize for the number of apology letters from the NFL? Rhule was livid most of the game. Maybe we should ask the Detroit Lions. Apparently holding calls are falling into that "what is a catch" black hole. And NY wasn't paying attention to our game. -
Please, @Captain Morgan post tweets & c&p so we can read them.

Official Panthers at Cowboys Predictions Thread
GRWatcher replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel that we have 2 teams of equal talent playing this game. So it's going to come down to coaching and turnovers. McCarthy vs Rhule. Moore vs Snow. Quinn vs Brady. Fassel vs Blackburn. And I believe we have the edge in coaching. Fans may feel that not coming out at halftime with adjustments is a bad thing but if what we're doing in the 1st half is working (we've been leading in all 3 games at halftime), you don't change it until you see what the other side has changed. This time we make those pinpoint adjustments before the 4th quarter because we're leading at halftime. We win the turnover battle. The Cowboys aren't the Bucs who can overcome 4 turnovers to win. Bold prediction: Cowboys win the coin toss then go 3 and out as they elect to go 1st on offense. Panthers 32 Cowboys 21 -

Charlton questions and ST's needed improvement
GRWatcher replied to RenoCarolina's topic in Carolina Panthers
Coach Blackburn is trying different things to improve. Erickson as PR. Last game they had Tremble as KR. Henderson may be on ST this week, maybe a gunner. We need the speed. -
I think he'll be active and, if nothing else, could be a gunner on ST.

I saw him crack a small, sideways smile/grin a few times. You could tell that he couldn't wait until it was all over lol. Quiet doesn't bother me. Can't wait to see his gametime on-the-field personality. He could be a Kuechly type of guy. Quiet off the field, a monster on the field.

No one remembers Eli Manning/Phillip Rivers/San Diego/NYGiants? Eli flat out stated he would not play for San Diego ever. Trade completed before the draft was over. No, CJ and Eli are nowhere near the same type of person and Eli had more pull but CJ was in the same situation and Jacksonville didn't care.

We have a MLB apparently with the same quiet personality in Jermaine Carter Jr. Rhule had to come to some understandings about quiet but confident players with Carter and how to get the best out of them. I'm fully confident that Rhule has this.
