  1. The Instagram post was posted on Twitter but then deleted.
  2. Despite it changing the game, I'm glad the NFL and NFLPA are finally doing something about head injuries and CTE in particular. They should've done something in 2012 when Junior Seau committed suicide and it was obvious why. They need to do more. It's a damn shame Lamar isn't in the Hall of Fame too.
  3. Reading this brought back so many good memories of a bright, shiny new NFL team, of Carolina fans learning how to watch live football (there were many articles about that), of the great players we had in the 90's, of the general, always there, excitement no matter what. Lamar Lathon is one of my favorites from that era. https://sports.yahoo.com/whatever-happened-former-panthers-star-110000049.html?src=rss

  5. I'll ask this board again. What makes you so definitely and emphatically think we'd lose the wildcard HOME game? And don't give me the flaccid and limp "do you watch football". Yeah, I do which is why I always think we have a shot to win even in the playoffs. Gawd sometimes this board pisses me off.
  6. I have liked Frank Reich since he was drafted by the Bills. (Don't ask me about Jim Kelly. He was a douche but karma has taken its toll on him.) I was ecstatic when the Panthers picked him up off the expansion draft. Thanks, Bill Polian! He was the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles when they won their first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl LII in 2017 so he has a Super Bowl ring and plenty of Super Bowl experience (with Bills and Eagles). His Charlotte roots include serving as president of RTS' Charlotte campus from 2003 to 2006 and a pastor at Ballantyne Presbyterian until he moved to Indianapolis in 2018. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Reich As smart a man as you will ever find. He needed the right weapons and support in Indianapolis which Isray didn't give him. I would not mind him as our head coach at all. Any head coach hired (offensive, defensive-hey how about special teams like Belichick) will need the right weapons on the team. That's a no brainer.
  7. I clearly remember that, when the stadium was first designed and built, it was said to be built in such a manner that later a dome could be added. I don't know if that's still feasible because of the years of renovations.
  8. FYI Hurney is not GM in Washington. Martin Mayhew is. Hurney is executive vice president of football/player personnel.
  9. He's another XFL QB. So we're at least consistent.
  10. We cut Eason. Apparently found a better candidate for a high ankle sprain.
  11. lol Hold on there. I'm not predicting anything. Do I think they should tank? Absolutely not. All I'm saying is that if anyone starts talking about the future they better consider all the possibilities not just the one they prefer. Don't take it personally because it was not meant that way.
  12. What if we don't lose the first round in the playoffs? What if we surprise everyone and win a playoff game or two? All this talk and no one is considering this possibility. If people are becoming prophets and predicting the future, all possibilities must be considered. There's too much nitpicking on this board to try and support huddlers' viewpoints.
  13. We don't want Mac Jones. History doesn't repeat but it often rhymes. Drew Bledsoe was traded to the Bills after being replaced by Brady. Was there for 3 forgettable years which he obviously hated, always whining and complaining. Went to Dallas, was average at best, and retired in 2007 when replaced with Romo. Teams should pay attention to Belichick when it comes to QBs.
  14. Count Jackson in that group of needed players. He kept Stafford to only half the field in the 1st half and he paid when he didn't. Then came the 2nd half. Henderson out, Jackson out. Hartsfield, Hayes, Franklin, Woods. None held up, Stafford ate them alive. Wilks knew we couldn't blitz because the DBs wouldn't hold up. Disaster all around.
  15. IIRC everyone said that it was pressure from Joe Brady that brought Teddy to Carolina. I fault Hurney for that contract not Rhule. He had a passion for overpaying bad talent. lol OMG that's a lesson the Pegula's learned fast. Loud mouth does not equal good coach. I hope that's a lesson Tepper will skip.
  16. I was hoping Testaverde was coming out of retirement.
  17. It's a two-way street. Corbett knows Donald's tendencies too. But it will be fun. I don't want to hear it. Bosa had ZERO sacks last game and he's supposed to be a sack machine. Even with him leaving the game early everyone thought he'd get to Baker. Nada, zilch. Ickey played to a 92.1 rating. Don't discount our o-line.
  18. He's not too bad when rushing the QB either.
  19. Yeah, Newton is a douche. But don't take things out of context. Wilks added that he was kidding; he and Newton go way back. Wilks has a subtle sense of humor for sure. That was an honest-to-god human being, man-on-the-street vibes, giving that press conference, not a college coach preacher's son. And it felt good to watch it. He accepts that he's an example for the old cliché, that hard work and following your dream pays off. I have a feeling that we won't see Chubba on the field much.
