Panthers Training Camp Notes and Photos - Day 5
GRWatcher replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
lol I'll bet the Bon Jovi is a cut to the Bills. :) You know Rex Ryan hears it. That 1st preseason game is gonna be bonkers. Good Lord, I can't wait!! -
They also forget who was injured and when. People were not healthy all season. It was at times like musical chairs. Once Benwikere & Boston were healthy, they played. Both lines, defense & offense, were shuffled. Corey Brown was out for awhile, which is how we had Bersin covering punts. All the RB's and Tolbert at some point in the season were injured. When your stud youth goes down, you will be very glad to have a vet available, no change needed to either playbook. Hell, even Cam sat out a couple of games & we didn't miss a beat. I'd also like to point out that for many years we carried 2 FB's on the depth chart. The 2nd one listed was always Nick Goings. I view Brockel as the 2nd coming of Goings & I see nothing wrong with that. ST's, blocking, picking up the blitz, it' all good.

Training Camp Photos and Observations - Day 1
GRWatcher replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Now I know who the coach was that stood watching from the sideline way behind the secondary during the defense v offense drills, Chris Harris. Players like Tillman & Coleman & a few others kept coming up to talk to him after coming off the field & now I know why. Very glad he's here. Good to hear about Colin Jones. He's one of my favorite Panthers. Besides STs, McDermott threw him in on some disguised defenses & would find a way to get him out there when offenses ran no-huddle.- 39 replies

I saw KB helping with a QB-focused drill while the other WR's were going through separate drills of their own. Which tells me that Coach Proehl sees absolutely no problems with Kelvin. None. Good enough for me.

I started out watching the big fellas, really wanted to see how both lines were doing. But realized that until they can truly tackle, it's not showing us much at all. Then I started watching the WR's & secondary. But IMO Ohr won that battle, keeping Alexander engaged & not letting him escape the block. Moving the DE sideways is always better than letting him move you backwards. Always. Besides, the play probably would've been over in half that time, before Ohr grabbed the shoulder of the jersey. Thanks, Jeremy, for the vine! Appreciate it! :)

And yet they don't give us his rating.

I have to take into consideration the top of the organization first when evaluating any team. They set the tone & they acquire the talent. And Atlanta's ownership & FO are true disaster areas. There will be bright spots now & then, like fireflies: blink on, blink off. But nothing will last in Atlanta, too many of the wrong fingers in the pie. I also think Quinn will struggle with the players he has & without Carroll's help.

Thank you, MHS831, for posting that video. Congratulations to both Roman & Heather. I remember seeing all the wedding photos posted on twitter in April. Roman seems to be the type of person that is all in with whatever he does. You can't help but like & appreciate a person like that. Honestly, it feels like he's in a better, more positive place here than he was in New Orleans.

Maybe .... just maybe .... where they're lining up Bene has more to say about Tillman than about Benwikere. Like, 2 things to say. Rivera & McDermott: Let's see what Peanut has left in the tank. Wilks to all DB's on the sideline: All eyes on Tillman & learn, men, learn!

Last 3 according to the AP. Just more to get the defense fired up, thank you. Despite all their, "I just focus on what I can control & being the best player I can be & doing whatever helps the team win" rhetoric, you know this bs bothers them & gets them fired up. Is it September yet?????

Carolina Panthers Offensive Line Depth Chart
GRWatcher replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
We had quite a few injuries on the o-line last year which lead us to have our best formation of the year in the playoffs. That, I'd say, was pure luck with some Gettleman goodness & Matsko coaching sprinkled in. I don't want to go through that again and I doubt the Panthers do either. Which is why, IMO, we have so much more competition this year & that's a good thing. I'm hoping Ohr steps up at LT too. The rest of the line will work itself out. The right side with Turner & Remmers did pretty darn well at the end of the year. And we can sign Norwell for life at LG. What we have to be sure about is good talent at backup for all 5 positions and even good talent for the backups to the backups. That is how deep we had to go last year. **gets chills from the horror of it all** We were damn lucky Norwell & Remmers are the type of men they are to fit in so well so quickly. So get every hopeful player reps & one on one coaching & stash them on the practice squad (not IR, please football gods) if you have to. We will be better prepared this year, I feel it.- 29 replies

"NFL will eventually take kicking out of the game" -Matt Prater
GRWatcher replied to JawnyBlaze's topic in Carolina Panthers
Eliminating kicks would take the joy out of watching games at Heinz Field or Soldier Field. And bad weather games wouldn't be fun anymore either. Games would be shorter but with less time available for commercials. No need for small flags at the top of the goal posts. No special kicking footballs needed. But wait. There's more. No more running onto the field to pick up the kicking tee by a specially chosen youngster. OMG! Not the kids! -
Panthers Wide Receiver Depth Chart - OTA Week 2
GRWatcher replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because he got his hair cut? You know, for the kids. Hair cut info here idk. All this "debating" about the 4/5 WR seems pointless. Better people than me will make that decision and that's why they get the big bucks.- 107 replies
