  1. Some reactions today are just strange in general. The staff is being upfront and explaining their decisions. Saw someone elsewhere claiming a Chinn is our backup “SS”, like wtf? I think many are still used to the 4-3 prototypes that had some hybrid looks and aren’t seeing the 3-4 sub packages that have 5 & 6 DB looks (w/2 NB) that Denver & SF have run. Frank clearly said we have 4 specific types at EDGE to fill. Burns is A, Haynes is being mad overlooked as B, DJ Johnson likely C and YGM battling Barno for D.
  2. I mean that’s straight out of the mouth of Scott and Reich
  3. At the end of the day, it’s the character that’s more questionable than the talent. That’s what doesn’t seem to fit with our org but whatevs; maybe he’s grown and can ball. We’ll see
  4. Barno is a speed rusher with work needed against the run, this is a bull style power rusher strong in run defense. Very different.
  5. 2 really great picks today. Robinson was one of the unquestioned leaders for FSU the last 2 seasons. He's fun to watch, definitely has starter potential mid-career and has the NB fit for sub packages where we have 6 DBs.
  6. Rowe, Chinn, & Robinson can all play NB which is critical for Evero's scheme. Particularly because I imagine we'll have plenty of dime looks.

  8. Not only a really solid depth signing, he knows how to play alongside Icky. Awesome choice and can play pretty immediately if needed. Between him and Mays, OL is looking mighty strong for Bryce.
  9. Awesome pick with Jammie Robinson He is super fun to watch
  10. That is a great shout out. That dude is a mad man on the field. Love his personality.
  11. Thanks for this. TFG has been a great watch this draft process and even has had former GMs on the show. His descriptor and our presser really puts it into perspective. We didn't need more speedy edge rushers like Burns, Haynes & Barno. We needed a run defender & bull rusher. That's exactly what this guy is. Big for the run defense which we all agree was the big area of need.
  12. Our WR room is looking pretty diverse. We're a lot taller than we're used to which is nice. Name (Age) Height | 40 time Adam Thielen (32) 6'2 | ~4.5 (guesstimate) Terrace Marshall Jr. (22) 6'2 | 4.38 DJ Chark (26) 6'4 | 4.34 Jonathan Mingo (22) 6'2 | 4.46 Laviska Shenault (24) 6'1 | 4.58 Shi Smith (24) 5'10 | 4.43 Damiere Byrd (30) 5'9 | ~4.4 (was 4.28 as a rookie)
  13. He had so many top-30s...scouts and fans online were all about him. He was on many draft wishlists within other fanbases. We never get those guys!! Finally landed one haha.
  14. Yeah, definitely curious if we're staying at 114 or trying to gain multiple picks out of that.
  15. I mean, I'm used to it at this point. We did it with Corral. We did it with Christensen. And we've done the inverse where we gain multiple picks, and that turned into guys like Tremble and Shi. So it's a choose your own adventure, there's ways to gain capital back.
  16. Yeah we just gotta get over our crushes. I mean, I was ALL about Adebawore, thought he was going higher. Brugler had him mocked to the Eagles at 30. Really surprised he's still out there who is a bit like Tuli but mega-athletic. Can similarly play anywhere from 3-Tech hands in dirt, to standing at the EDGE. Both of those guys are just very unique with massive potential. We clearly wanted an edge setter, no tweeners. Agree on Foskey and White though, they may be more suited having their hands in the dirt. Looking forward, I wouldn't look past us adding a OL & DL today instead of skill spots. Would love Adebawore, Abanikanda or Whyle but I won't be pissing and moaning if it doesn't happen.
  17. There's always a mammoth of perceived "reaches" in the 2nd-3rd. That's where team scouts vs. online rankings always diverge like crazy. No matter the rumors or who we heard likes who. It is never what it seems, these scouting rooms have their own world separate from the web. I.E. -- Tyler Scott is still on the board who was supposedly rocketing up team boards and impressing a lot. Scruggs G/C went 62 overall who many had pegged as a late rounder. Strange went ahead of Tucker Kraft. Reed was WR6 head of Hyatt, Tillman, Rice, Downs. Torrence fell to the late 50s. We picked a guy who was projected on more than a few sites as a 3rd-4th rounder so DJ doesn't seem like a reach. I think people are a bit underwhelmed bc he's older and has some stuff to work out, but you gotta consider ceiling with EDGE rushers. And last but not least, we had to meet our 'guys named DJ' quota.
  18. I see what you're saying. I'm not mad about it just trying to assess. Ojulari doesn't have good burst, but his bend, lateral movement and pursuit is top level. I can see why team's viewed him fringe 1st/early 2nd. Once TEN's Byron Young went, I think the remaining EDGE's we liked were thinning out. I mean, there were a TON that went in 2-3. Hall, BJ, Foskey, Tuli, White flew off the board after the Mingo pick. That was a risk we took with landing a fave offensive weapon instead of one of them first. Seems like we definitely had a positional fill in mind over BPA here, which, I guess is fine. There were some really solid DBs & RBs available but I won't fret. Have to think we had DJ Johnson in a tier above McGuire, Henry, etc. that made him worthy of the trade up. YaYa Diaby was taken right after who is old as well, but a bit more explosive IMO. He's on the team now so all we can do is hope for the best!
  19. Abanikanda would be fun at 114. With the WR room pretty much set, I want someone with afterburners on offense. Darius Rush, Kelee Ringo, Jay Ward, Trice, all potential CBs The guard and tackle class is about to come back into the picture this draft as well. We may be going that route to protect Bryce. Josh Whyle & Zach Kuntz are still viable TEs that could beat out Thomas and/or Tremble for TE2. Could be a future starter.
  20. My only questioning is what sets DJ apart from Isaiah McGuire, Hampton, or KJ Henry at EDGE. They must see something specific in him that set him apart to trade up for.
  21. Are we suddenly not trusting this staff bc of disparities between online rankings and the scouting dept? Cmon people, we pretend to be all rah-rah and then bc it’s an unexpected get bent out of shape? They obviously see something. Let them prove themselves
  22. Long EDGE and even NFL.com had him pegged as a 3rd-4th rounder. Not really a reach, just a dude not many looked at, myself included. 6'4 260 4.49, I mean if this mad-dog of a defensive staff likes him, let's see what's up.
