  1. I’m fairly certain we’re allowed one official takesie-backsie with Chicago. It would in effect change next years 1st given up to our 3rd rounder and we can swap Burns and Moore. It was in the fine print, also on the front office’s “all-22” footage from Tepper’s asshole…I mean Reich’s chapel..I mean, Fitt’s office.
  2. It's not far fetched to think he very quietly asked out near the start of last season. You could tell Rhule never knew how to use him or how to build an offense around him. That was a monumental failure. The vibe check was just never right post-Rivera and we could have built something cool. Just didn't work out due to the ownership change timing and the Rhule hire. By the time we would have figured it out, it would've been a waste. My biggest problem was not getting a known commodity in the trade, not just draft picks. It is all very frustrating. Makes me very IDGAF regarding the franchise.
  3. Higgins has a different minor injury that he plays through every few weeks. I don't find him appealing in the least for what we apparently are looking for. I don't mind the idea of Marquise Brown. He's much more in line with what we need right now as we need someone who can turn short throws into TDs and have gamebreaking speed/plays. My hope is one thing - just don't give up another first.
  4. Seems like the Panthers biggest fans come from 49ers, Skins, Eagles, Bears or Patriots families. They moved in the 80s/90s to QC and their kids first hometown team was the Panthers. We (many of those kids) are the biggest contingent of diehards. 96 and 03 were special for us at young ages and have grown into a decently sized fan base now with our own kids as fans. Tepper is spitting in all of our faces with his horrible operation.
  5. Reasonable observations. I don’t entirely understand why we’re not wanting to open this up even a little bit more and am also concerned to the “why”. This was the Vikings and they gave us drive after drive to do something, anything in that second half. Bryce was advertised above the likes of Baker and Kyler from a mentality and NFL acumen standpoint but Reich & Co don’t seem willing to diversify even within a limited playbook for him. It’s so constricting, defenses barely have to do anything. What this staff is implementing just doesn’t add up to what you implement for a #1 overall pick. Maybe if this was us putting in a third rounder in too soon that was meant to be developmental I’d get it. Something is amiss at all levels right now.
  6. He's exactly the type of gamebreaking playmaker we've been wanting and could very well be in that sweet spot at the top of round 2. A playmaker is the clear need and he's got my eye
  7. The last time we were in the playoffs, I was single, starting fresh in my career, in Southern Cal, world ahead of me. Long hair, had a surfboard, thought I'd be a beach-bum urban designer based in Laguna. I've since had a long term relationship, beat cancer, moved away/split for a promising gig, met a new gal, we eventually got a dog, she became my wife, made another big career move, now near Minny these days. I MISS WINNING But alas, life goes on.
  8. Brees didn't play much at all his rookie year. Allen is an aberration with some eyepopping moments. Peyton averaged like 240 ypg and slung over 25 tds and that was 1998. A #1 pick that we were willing to put THIS much pressure on, mortgage our future for, better look a hell of a lot more special than even other #1 picks. This whole situation is just not good, and Bryce isn't looking good for what we spent on him. It's okay to admit it.
  9. He has not. Doesn't mean he doesn't have the ability or had a nice moment or two, but he simply has not.
  10. Mims, Downs, Wilson, Dell, Reed, Rice, Palmer, Nacua, FML
  11. Split zone run left, 1-3 yards. Rinse, repeat
  12. I've argued this before-- From my perspective, I felt like Tepper tried to be the more composed, patient owner. Didn't immediately fire Rivera, Hurney. Wanted to appear to see things through. Then once Ron was gone, he wanted to seem like the guy to gamble on the high upside college guy. He stressed throughout Rhule's tenure he was willing to give it time. From his end, I think he feels like he's been patient and now finally went with what was supposed to be a sound, high-floor situation with the coaching staff rather than the Steichen or Moore route, and now that has blown up in his face. I think he's honestly done being patient. Fitt's picks aren't working out, the stars that were here upon arrival have gone or fizzled, and now, the new FO seems to be failing. I doubt he's interested in continuing the current trajectory. We've got hell ahead. But if we come out and get worked by Stroud or AR, then be prepared folks.
  13. We can dissect each individual playcall and situational problems as much as we want, but this is not what you want to see out of a #1 overall pick. #1 OVERALL. Just stop. We've passed the point of pointing out 1-3 moments PER GAME where he leads a guy for at most a 15 yard gain. There's just not many more excuses left. Sure, he has some okay moments with some pretty 10-15 yarders in the second half but you're lying to yourself if you're not admitting how shaky he looks. He looks jittery, he looks nervous, he looks shaky. Am I going crazy? Or are we just not wanting to admit what's in front of us? Stats be damned, just watch the kid. A "calm demeanor" on the sidelines and in pressers does not equate to poise. You have to step up, make plays, and manufacturer TDs at some point. Yes, the personnel is crap, but this is inexcusable for what we were sold. I feel awful for the kid, awful for the fans, awful for everyone. It's not over for Bryce. The kid has skills, but he is simply not showing anything that can elevate a team right now.
  14. This is not typically how I roll. But re: the title--it really isn't too early. He seems like a good dude, he had his success, SB win as an OC...but his hire had the same weirdness that rehiring Hurney and the Hornets rehiring Clifford did. I gave it some consideration as he built the staff, seemed super promising. We heard the players who came to praise the crew we brought together, we heard talking heads hype this coaching situation. It has just been an unmitigated disaster thus far and we're about to play a league top Lions team and then Miami.. 0-6 is coming folks. Things still feel directionless. They don't trust Bryce. Bryce doesn't trust himself, the playcalling is awful, the OL is depleted, the whole team seems to be in a tailspin. They sold us a few things: Playoffs were in the cards We built the defense first, offense second, and then had the opportunity to give up assets bc we just needed a QB to insert They were setting things up as if we were ready for takeoff. Then it doesn't quite happen out the gate. Okay, that's understandable. But, thing is, even in loses, you want to see SOMETHING. Some type of WR stepping up, some chunk plays busting out here and there, some nice moments from a guy we spent huge capital to get. We have gotten nothing. Zilch, zero. Nada. This is one of the most embarrassing things I've witnessed as a fan of the Panthers, Blackhawks, Braves, and Hornets. I've just never seen such flatness, such uninspiring play. Poor team construction, a QB that seems entirely frazzled. This entire situation seems awful. Rhule was at least a dud that you could say was a dud, bad hire, not NFL caliber. Reich is this "regarded" figure that is absolutely failing right now. And the constant talking heads saying Bryce has his moments, or Reich just needs time are looking more silly by the day. Talk me back into this please.
  15. Yeah I notice his posts. Same with LG. But honestly, it's understandable, reactionary stuff, but nothing that requires heavy defense. It's just a bad situation right now for the team. It's easy to pick on Bryce but the more apparent issue is who's attempting to lead him into playing in the NFL. This "rockstar" staff is failing the entire offense. The lack of speed and gamebreaking ability is also a huge problem.
  16. It's not necessarily the money. I can see the argument it's not a team constricting financial situation, however, what we did pay him positioned Miles to be our 80% running snap RB. That's just a poor decision.
  17. I'm not seeing a single person saying Bryce was the reason we lost. Reich is far and away getting the most fruit hurled at him post-play.
  18. Kyle Allen coming in for Cam starting 5-0 still appears to be our brightest moment at QB post-Cam. Let that soak in.
  19. I'm trying my best. Try to balance being too reactionary but it's getting really hard. What's the NFL draft refund policy? /s
  20. Vikings gave us about 5 drives in a row to take over this game. Their offense did NOTHIING.
