  1. This is an excerpt from a greater piece but this just sounds weird and doesn’t seem like anyone is truly in control of the play calls. Some weird indecisiveness going on. Sounds like the entire staff is fumbling around— https://theathletic.com/5057587/2023/11/14/nfl-week-10-best-worst-coaching-decisions-nguyen/ Regarding wasting the timeout on the final drive: “We had a call that we liked, but we also had talked about another call,” Reich said after the game. “And as we broke the huddle, we just together decided let’s go with this other call. Is it worth taking a timeout? And thought it was important enough because it’s third-and-10, that’s a tough conversion. But we’re at the 40-yard line. So if we get five yards, we’re in easy field goal range. Not easy, but we’re in legit field goal range.” wat
  2. It's all a matter of internal workings and league circles. He was also McVay's AHC, is well-liked around the league, coaching and players alike. And don't forget he already interviewed for the Dolphins job when they went with McDaniel. Some guys have gone on to great success after being on bad staffs...truly a league of inner circles. Also--Reich's mentioned the playbook was a collaborative process, not any one person. And given the architecture, it is 100% a Reich one in its framework. Problem is he may have brought in a guy from Snohetta to help design a Wendy's. So that being said, I don't see why TB can't still have success, he's young. And he's with a lot of different minds/coaching types than he started his career with. It's honestly a good experience for a guy his age to go through this type of growing pains as a coach. Panthers wise--Sure wish we weren't this coaching farm for a bunch of guys who aren't ready yet. It's like we're a mix of that and over the hill oldies.
  3. Not that he’s been showing any effectiveness—but it wouldn’t surprise me if Thomas Brown was back in touch with McVay about returning to LA in 2024 (via text at the least) ”Yo man, yeah it’s a mess here”
  4. To be fair, I think he is a legit WR. He led CFB (along w/Rashee Rice) in most metrics. Although I see your angle—Doesn’t change the fact no one expected the Texans WR room to amount to much with a rookie QB, rookie OC, banged up OL and rookie HC. The narrative was that they had one of the worst offenses talent wise in the league.
  5. Let’s be honest, we all mostly drank the koolaid. We wanted Steichen or Ben Johnson, and once it didn’t happen, talked ourselves into trusting this Reich All-Star staff narrative. Do wonder what type of year it would be if we took a gamble on Kellen Moore. He didn’t have the experience but could’ve been better than what we’re getting.
  6. Interesting, agree they'd be better off dishing Deebo. Aiyuk would be a big one. He's one of the best route runners and separators in the game. There would be no more excuses.
  7. I doubt Aiyuk is going to be on the trade block. He’s one of the best pure receivers in the league and has emerged this year in SF as their 1. Would love it though, one of my fave players in the league.
  8. The lack of YAC guys is what’s probably the most infuriating thing that mostly everyone could see going into the year. We have 2 guys that have some YAC ability in Chark and Shenault and it’s like we refuse to even scheme them open. I mean, let’s run some simple concepts to get them space, shallow cross them for Bryce. Serve them something in the move. Otherwise, I mean, what’s Shi Smith up to? Still on TEN’s PS? Might as well scan the FAs right now and see if there’s better options for Bryce.
  9. Watch the vid -- it doesn't insinuate "biggest". From an urban planning perspective, Charlotte has one of the worst examples of sprawl gone wrong but they've been correcting. Vid title is a bit click-baity.
  10. The Corral trade up is honestly worse than others even being a 3rd rounder. Spent 2 thirds. The dude is already out of the league and it's been 1 season lol
  11. I'm not seeing it. Not a single post in here says Bryce is a bust. Your own post: That's exactly what I said that you were responding to. But then you had to add on the CJ fan bashing stuff so it seems you want to really draw that line. Have at it.
  12. It's honestly worse than Hackett the other season. One of the worst HC-ing jobs in the modern era. He's made just as bad in-game calls as Hack. And honestly, Fitt/Reich have made worse personnel moves compared to any of the recent 1 and dones. We can barely manage a scoring drive with a #1 overall pick. It's egregious. Totally fireable after the Boys game.
  13. A quick caution--Y'all chill it before taking it too personally. We're in a tough spot folks, but you can independently enjoy what Stroud is doing without getting into the CJ v Bryce thing.
  14. But he has no help at guard and is only in second year. Give him time..can't give up just because other 2nd year LTs look really good right now. Wait a tick...
  15. I fulfilled my dog dad duties today. 4 mile walk, brought the fam back breakfast biscuits from the hipster coffee shop, played fetch for like 30 minutes #notahumblebrag #HardforStroudJKIMakeJokes
  16. Some silly sand lines in here. It's okay to admit Stroud is having a generational year. It's also fine to admit Bryce hasn't looked good. It's okay people. It's okay.
  17. I mean, there's Marv, Nabers, Rome, Keon, and Egbuka who are all great and 1st round dudes. I think he's absolutely right in range. And he fits exactly what we're looking for. Quickness, speed, big play threat, decent size, he's improved drastically when it comes to route running this year, YAC stuff is really shifty. If we weren't such idiots with trades, he'd be a perfect guy to secure in that 22-30 range in a trade up. But, we're running out of ammo and have too many holes. I've been hoping he could be our guy since week 1. Have never ID'd a player this early but he really is exactly what we need.
  18. Stroud is on pace for 30+ TDs, 2 INTs, 4,000 yards at 8.0+ YPA...and aiming for a playoff birth. First year coach, rookie WR, a very mid-RB group, an injured OL, and over-peforming WRs. It is absolutely insane what is happening with Houston.
  19. I would just like to repeat again: Troy Franklin
  20. He's doing this with Noah Brown? Dalton Shultz? Devin Singletary? I mean?!?! Crazy It's going beyond the Young vs. Stroud bitterness, he's having one of the best rookie seasons of all time. Unreal to watch.
