GB/HOU and DET/MIN both pretty fun games.

Finding the guys in that good tier that just need a bit of tapping into is key. No matter the position, we haven’t been able to land the Tuli, Brents, Byron Young, Kobie Turner, T Stevenson’s of the world. We keep just missing in that and zeroing in on certain types at that lovely WR spot. That BC kid Donavan Ez-something is another in that mold who could be blooming.

Problem is I don’t think this EDGE class has anyone top-15 worthy. The higher touted guys have been banged up and underperforming. Makes me hope we can crank out some wins and develop our young guys a bit. If you put this edge group with last few years, I don’t think any touch Verse/Latu/Turner as prospects. They kind of fall into that Chop Robinson/Will McDonald type tier. None of the guys are that well rounded and none are real pass disrupters. if we don’t go QB, IDL or DB may be our best bet in considering the talent at the top of this class.

Panthers in the Market for a QB (again): 2025 Draft
Bear Hands replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
That is one generous list. I think there's three tops 1st round talents at QB in this class and that's being kind - Sanders, Nuss, & Ward (maybe) Then the rest are mid round talents that are simply teasing at times like a lot of these kids do every year. People think they'll be higher draft picks and they settle into 4th-UDFA. I think McCord & Rourke are interesting. Allar has room to grow/I see returning. Milroe, Ewers and Beck aren't that good - I just don't see much. Honestly, it's not a good class at the top for any position. This is one of the least exciting draft classes in forever. OL and DL talent are lacking true impact guys, DBs are aight...it's really the 2 WRs, Graham, & a few others. -
Are we being reactive again?

I’ll admit - totally mixed, Nixed, him up with another from the 2023 evals. Rescinded.

Panthers Draft Pick Status (Week 7)
Bear Hands replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
I honestly think we could still crank out a few wins. Gut tells me we end up highest 4, lowest 7ish. Browns, Raiders, Titans, & dare I say the Saints look set up for death spirals meanwhile we’re still playing tough. And the Jags and Pats aren’t too hot. -
I mean they’re down let’s see…their QB, WR1, WR2, OT, C, G, it’s a bit of a disaster.

Stop the obsession with the QB position
Bear Hands replied to TheMaulClaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
If there is a guy available in that potential perennial all-pro tier at his position, you probably take him… but I’m game for another roll of the dice at QB looking at this overall class. The draft isn’t the most impressive on the lines unfortunately. Some good WRs, but it’s a mixed bag of high firsts. So yeah, if it makes sense, why not. But agree that the focus is on building a team without mortgaging any future assets. Either land a guy you want (at any position) or accrue assets via trade. -
Broncos D is strong - that Zach Allen kid is going wild this year. And Nix…gotta say he’s looking more comfortable by the week. And it’s not like they’ve been some super running team. Dual threat, monster arm, he’s just being smart after his shaky start this season. Really like what I’m seeing. If they can continue to figure out this offense, could be a promising squad next year. Heck, could end up a WC.

I honestly forgot he was gone - thought he was just inactive or hiding behind Coker and Mingo.

Oof

I love the Cooper fit in Buffalo. He’s going to eat for Allen and help Coleman out.
-
We shouldn’t expect a lot from him, but DJ Wonnum will be welcomed when he can finally play. We signed him knowing he was in recovery, so he needs to heal up and get in there. 2 years 12.5 mil — he’s almost missed a quarter of that contract duration already He’s nothing special by any means but a huge improvement over what we’re seeing. Washed up Charles Harris, Tarron Jackson, Thomas Incoom… like WTH are these dudes haha.

Evero is a heavy blitzer historically so him holding off shows you how he thinks of the current state of things with the personnel. We’re not getting pressure without blitzing but we can’t really sacrifice sending too many dudes.. a conundrum with a depleted and low-value unit

What Do You Think About Our Rookies Thus Far?
Bear Hands replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Legette and Wallace looks the part sooner than expected. I’m pleasantly surprised at how well XL has acclimated at times. He’ll have rookie moments but he’s shown well. Brooks is TBD. Sanders is interesting right now because he’s getting valuable playing time. Has had nice moments, has had a few and some not so nice moments, but nothing that’s jumping out telling me he doesn’t belong. Rookie bumps, I’d love to see him continue to ease into things and make week to week improvement. Smith-Wade is getting playing time. Unsure there’s enough to judge. -
Defense is not allowing us to run a balanced attack but it’s nice to see Chuba doing so great. He’s on pace for 1,400 rushing yards, 5.6 YPC, 9 total TDs, 60+ receptions Pretty stellar. He’s playing a tad above the average guys that excel behind good lines. He’s a guy. Makes me wonder how Dan viewed him this past offseason given how they went after Brooks.

Panthers vs Falcons Gameday Thread
Bear Hands replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Excellent drive to end that half. Coker, JT, Legette all contributing. -
His mechanics look pretty crisp to me, release looks solid with a beaut of an arm. But if you're saying more about how long he takes to get through his reads, I can see that. Seems a tad hesitant and plays a bit more mistake averse vs. risk taking/big play throws. I do like that he's gotten comfortable with as needed scrambles. He's not that mobile but he can move around and has the frame to move the pile/isn't some statue. 6'5 235 with a cannon is hard to ignore for me but he needs to get a bit more of an edge/be a field pusher.
-
Allar has a cannon which is nice. Unsure if he's really shown anything extra to make me feel like he could command a pro offense, but he's had nice moments. He doesn't dink/dunk, he throws intermediate and deep more than others. Definitely a guy to keep an eye on.

BREAKING: Marquis Haynes, Ian Thomas added to active roster
Bear Hands replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
One thing this season made me realize - Chaisson must be like really really super bad. -
I don’t even know where to start. 1 rule - gain capital, with how bad our drafts are, get a huge pool and maybe some hit. Biggest targets: Trenches (always target, even if a strength), Edge rusher, QB, & WR Actual names: I personally like that Mason Graham out of Michigan from the draft. It’s not a very packed class at the top so hope we can win a few more games and our young guys show promise. Maybe snag Malcolm Koonce in FA. Also like that Lions multi-tech kid Levi O. Need a few big pass rush boosts. I dunno, that’s about all the energy I’ve got for this haha

Jayden Daniels utilizing tech to his advantage

If I just say “I’m just kidding bro” every time I make zero sense, I will obviously make all the sense in the world.
