Gantt indicates the Panthers should bring in Carr
Bear Hands replied to TheMaulClaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
Seems like the Rodgers decision is the first domino needing to fall. -
I hope this happens sooner than later. Bozeman could be a NC treasure in the making. He's seems like a gentleman goofball with a heart of gold but an absolute madman on the field. Let's get it done Fit. The only absolute wish this FA period.

I will say in thinking about this, it made me remember we have Shenault here (2020 2nd rounder) who did flash at times. Do wonder how the new staff will view him in respect to the future. Still 2 years left on his rookie deal.
-
One of those 2nds is gone for sure. It's why I gave ranges.
-
He got injured last year but still had 10 games (750 yards), that was coming off a previous 5 in a row full seasons averaging 1100 and 6 tds. Not bad. Early career was a bit more injury buggy.

The fun nonsensical would hit if you posted ridiculous offense. Why are people turretsing defense? This thread is pretty simple. Edmunds, Bates, David, lol…it’s not that complicated you dinguses.
-
I honestly don't pay attention to cap anymore after what teams have done the past 3ish years. The game has changed. Cap shmap, it is what it is. If we want a FA and they like our fit, we'll figure it out.
-
More a thing to just get the juices flowing haha. Mix of an inclination, personal preference, and having the liberty to be a bit unrealistic with the thread
-
Chark could definitely be one to keep tabs on. In could see him being a pretty strong fit in what we're trying to run.

Good.

Figured this would be fun thing. The gist--from FA to draft, let's see what your fantastical Panthers offseason looks like. And I'll give some flexibility to be a bit greedy, you don't need to be analyzing the cap super hard or anything. It's evolving for me, but here's where I'm at below--I won't shy away from my faves; I'd prefer things to feel as different on the field as they feel with the staff: Could be a cool thing to look back on and see how of the mark we were ha! QB CJ Stroud (R1) OSU Mike White (FA) Jacob Eason *Corral traded, future 4th-ish (Sorry folks ) RB D'Onta Foreman (FA) Tyjae Spears (R3-5) Tulane Chubba Hubbard WR DJ Moore Keenan Allen (FA) Michael Wilson (R2-4) Stanford Terrace Marshall Jr Laviska Shenault Shi Smith TE/FB Dalton Kincaid (R2) Utah Robert Tonyan (FA) Tommy Tremble OL (L to R) Ekwonu-Christensen-Bozeman (FA)-Corbett-Moton *add ~(2) swing T/G/C bc of injuries and whatnot. Cade Mays is stickied.

Todd McShay seems to really like Anthony Richardson

I'm really digging Duce Staley & Thomas Brown. I have a really good feeling about this entire staff. Really exciting stuff. Duce's presser was AWESOME
-
Yeah, doesn't leave the best taste in the mouth but he looked pretty quality when thrown in this past year. Again, def wanna draft.
-
Yeah, the crapper teams are evolving. Next year, the bottomfeeders could be a different sight: WAS, TB, NO, TEN are all primed for a nice crash. May throw NE in that as well.

The idea of trading for Love for like a 4th-5th is really not a bad one in the slightest. I wouldn't bank on that being a QB solidifying move, but he could be worthy of a shot. Still though, want Stroud or Young.

Ditto Snow

I don't think we should or need to overspend $10 mil+ on one of the top TEs with the rookie class at hand. Could do a combo type package like draft Musgrave/Kincaid & Tonyan in FA
-
Yeah I wouldn't overpay but it'd be a homecoming to a familiar offense and coach. I quite like the fit. He's also a really funny and solid dude. Him and Okereke would be my two top targets, nothing too cray
-
I know Brissett v. Darnold is all the talk, but I'm personally taking Mike White or Taylor Heinicke. I think both have shown to be more capable of winning games than other league backups available. Darnold's inability to read the middle of the field in that Saints game soured me on pretending he can be our long term backup. Sorry QUEBUS fans.
-
Ditto on Okereke This may not be popular, but a potential casualty is Keenan Allen and he's a dude I'd target. A young QB could really benefit in having him. Reich has a history with from SD and had his best seasons in a Reich offense. On the lesser expensive WR end, Allen Lazard could be one to take a swing on. LB, WR, maybe S or DL would be spots to watch out for.

Panthers met with Hooker per report
Bear Hands replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I like Hendon's patience in the pocket. It's one of his better traits, but to understand where he's at outside the TEN offense is not necessarily an unknown. We shouldn't forget Hooker learned 2 different offenses in college. VT's had RPO and designed runs, but was a zone run scheme, had TE usage, and he faired well. I'll never forget them blanking Pickett/Pitt 28-0. Didn't put up gaudy stats, but I think his VT tape is important to understand where he's at and capable of. And that was earlier in his development. I will also point to the Corral point made. Ole Miss's offense is just, if not more simplistic with the whole partial-read RPO type setup and many seem to be okay with letting Corral get in there. I think Hooker is a lot less gimmicky than is let on. -

As a sidebar, it is pretty sweet how well tied our younger staff is to the good McVay regime. Blending that with Fangio mentees & Reich's tree that stems through SD/Indy/Philly, we've got some wicked good minds in the house. -

I genuinely want to like him as a prospect. I want to see more than flashes of anticipation and touch with his type of ability. I mean, his release is lightning and if you plug him in, he's a top-10 arm talent in the league. But in comparison, if you watch Josh Allen in school, it's night and day. He came out of nowhere and for 2 years was recklessly bombing balls left and right, leading guys downfield, creating, even if he was inaccurate and raw as hell. 6'5 230+, running like Cam and a mad man launching balls at recess. Levis was mid-tier recruit used as a short yardage running-QB. He wasn't even PSU's starting QB but they rammed him in 130+ times in 2 years at a 3.5 YPC. Then transfers after not winning the starting job, has a McVay guy to implement a pro-offense at UK. He does pretty well in 2021. Then, said OC leaves after 21 and the production plummets, he regresses, and is banged up. So you get a hint of him looking pretty good in 2021, and he has a few near elite traits. @Mr. Scot Put it well. We have 2 coaches in Evero & Thomas Brown who likely have Liam Coen on speed dial. Coen knows what he brings so that connection is a huge game breaker for the fit. -
If we weren't in need of a QB so badly, I would have a hard time being sold on many, if not all of these guys. This is the thinnest top tier I've seen in forever. It's Anderson, Carter, Stroud, Young....and a cliff Murphy, Wilson, the OTs & CB classes don't do much for me at all. I'm digging the potential of many late-1st type talent and think that group has a large chunk that extends far into day 2, but there's just no top talent.
