I'd say there's a distinct tier, I'm counting 7 clear cut tier 1s: (3) DL: Carter, Anderson, Murphy (1) QB: Bryce (2) WR: Addison & Johnson (1) OL: Skoronski (1) CB: Cam Smith *Bresee, Stroud, Mayer, & Ringo have arguments for it but see a bit of a shift looking at them and readiness+impact combo.

Will we get an additoinal draft pick for hiring Wilks full time?
Bear Hands replied to 45catfan's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
2020 RESOLUTION JC-2A Whereas, the member clubs believe that policies designed to promote equal employment opportunity and a diverse and inclusive workforce advance significant league interests, including improved decision making, enhanced business performance, and representing the NFL as an employer of choice that hires and promotes based on merit; and Whereas, the member clubs have adopted policies extending over several decades in furtherance of these goals, including policies designed to permit upward mobility and advancement of club employees, particularly those in coaching and football operations roles; and Whereas, the member clubs believe that it is appropriate to take additional steps to enhance opportunities for employment and advancement of minorities and women in key positions, including leadership roles in coaching, personnel, and football operations, Be it Resolved, that the League Policy on Equal Employment and Workplace Diversity will be amended as follows: (i) The employer-club of a minority employee who has been hired by another club as its Head Coach or Primary Football Executive (General Manager) shall receive Draft choice compensation in the form of a compensatory Draft pick in the third round in each of the next two Drafts for an employee hired as either a Head Coach or Primary Football Executive, or for the next three Drafts if it has two employees hired for both positions. The reference to the hiring of employees into “both positions” could be by the same club or different clubs. The following will apply to the Draft choice compensation: a. Any compensatory Draft picks awarded pursuant to this Policy will be at the end of the third round following all compensatory Draft picks awarded to clubs pursuant to Appendix V of the NFL-NFLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement. b. If multiple clubs are awarded compensatory Draft picks pursuant to this Policy, then the order of those picks at the end of the third round will follow the original selection order for that Draft established prior to any trades or other adjustments. (ii) The employer-club shall be eligible to receive this Draft choice compensation if: a. The minority employee hired as a Head Coach or Primary Football Executive has been employed by the employer-club for a minimum of two full seasons; and b. The minority employee is not the Head Coach or Primary Football Executive of the employer-club and is hired into the same position with the new club. There can be no break in employment between clubs. Submitted by Workplace Diversity Committee Effect: Establishes a system that rewards clubs for developing minority employees who move to the position of Primary Football Executive or Head Coach with other clubs. Reason: Supports development opportunities for minority employees to advance goals of diversity, equity and inclusion. -
What DJ Moore did was FLAG WORTHY but this WASN'T?????
Bear Hands replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. That's the one we have to eat as it led to the Rhule/Baker collapse. But Falcons, oh wee mayne. Could be 6-7, tied for first, and playing Mitch next week for the outright lead. -

I totally do! Was at that game, happened catty corner from my section but it was ridiculous. He did like a shoulder huge type-thing to chat with a ref (like half of QBs do these days) and was ejected. Remember that being such a sensitive ejection on the refs part. It's a pick and choose for these guys. The helmet rule is one that should just be scrapped if they aren't going to call it 90%+ of the time. -

One of the biggest changes I've seen, regardless of QB, is Bozeman calling out protections, and effectively. He is leaps and bounds better than most centers in the league and Rhule's choice of Elflein is probably the worst eval he had in the NFL. DTs aren't collapsing the pocket which has been such a major problem since Kalil retired. Because of this, Corbett and Brady are able to adjust quickly and those three have been doing a very good job together communicating and pushing the pile forward. We need to find a QB pronto because this OL is a really good one. The defense is great.

Can Tepper find anyone better than Wilks?
Bear Hands replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only thing that would concern me is falling into a trap IF we land a great OC, they leave for a HC gig shortly after. So maybe the approach is paying a guy like Reich a lot & giving him an AHC title. Doing what we need to for landing & keeping a solid OC for a few years. But then stepping back, I honestly think that makes more sense for Wilks as a DC/AHC with a guy like Steichen or B. Johnson leading the charge. It would just be in our benefit to find a guy with a juggernaut offense vision long term but totally see it's in our benefit to keep Wilks in the building. Could be a unique situation either way. -
So CAR is now 1 GAME behind the division lead?

That damn Falcons game pisses me off. -
Are you In favor of bring back Laviska Shenault next season?
Bear Hands replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe, but I don't want to make assumptions with our WR unit. We need to keep bringing in more dudes. Really want to get a O with high firepower. Don't want to rest thinking TMJ and Love Shack are good enough with DJ. -

Bear Hands replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's a solid WR4 gadget dude. Can always use those. We're missing another top receiving threat, but the depth of our WRs has promise with TMJ and Shenault. -
Well they lost
-
That's a legit possibility pending Darnold going full dingleberry in the remaining games.
-
It has been and still is QB. Been that way since 2018.
-
Here's a fun stat: If Wilks manages 1 more win out of our final 4, he will have matched Rhule's best win total with 5 less games to do so.

Bozeman and Brady are killing it today.

Earth... Wind and Fire 2.0??(Former Giants running game)
Bear Hands replied to Lurk21's topic in Carolina Panthers
We have a very good OL. Don't overrate our RBs. But yes, they are all looking pretty solid. -
Nice solid start

Well with the metric provided, it's one team that has a RB that consistently gets 10+ yard runs (Chubb) and 3 teams with the top running QBs (Bears, Eagles, Ravens). Would like to see this with some adjustments. It's all about how it's qualified. I'd personally love the team to be able to make big plays at will, it helps with scoring TDs which I hear are important.

The re-hype train for Levis is...inevitable

He played very much like we've seen from him until that last drive. That big sideline pass and game winner were both better than anything he's done here. He never did anything toxic here other than being very bad at football so whatevs, he gone.

Who has been the best post-Cam Panthers QB?
Bear Hands replied to TNPanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why are so many picking Heinicke? He played like one end of year game for us. He's proving to be good NOW, but that doesn't compute with el questione. It's Allen & Bridgwater. Bridgewater was a dull manager who was the most risk-averse, non-aggressive QB I've ever seen. Allen had a hot streak and teased potential before settling into his current iteration.
