  1. We've got cousins in the house (ahem I can't read--Uncle)
  2. Bear Hands

    WRs

Yeah he’s definitely got the talent but he has some limitations—will make it hard to battle against a lot of the better outside CBs. Perfect for a system that clears space in the middle of the field as a higher volume slot guy. Could surprise but I personally only see 3-4 WRs R1, and it’s Addison, Zay, S-N & Johnston. Downs and Dell are in the next tier. Some limitations but will be impactful and depending on the scheme, really damn good. Rice and Iosivas both seem super interesting. Not the best class but I think there’s really good prospects scattered throughout. Quentin and Hyatt make me the most nervous for the higher picks.
  3. Thomas Brown come on down!! Could get the word tomorrow. Exciting.
  4. I agree this is an overall weaker draft. Some of the better RB and TEs groups I've seen in a while. EDGE & DL is good, buuuut the OL, LB, WR, & a few others leave a lot to be desired. Not particularly deep at QB, IOL, OT, WR, LB, 4-3 DEs
  5. I would. This draft is immensely talented at running back and LOADED. Probably the best position group in the draft ahead of TE. There's arguably 10+ potential starters in it: Bijan Robinson Zach Charbonnet Jahmyr Gibbs Devon Achane (This kid is going to be awesome) Tyjae Spears (Probably my favorite prospect overall in the draft) Israel Abanikanda Roschon Johnson Chase Brown Dewayne McBride It's seriously an awesome class. All of those guys are instant impacts.
  6. I'm game to see what Corral has. Especially with a team that has adequate coaching and a solid, modern scheme to learn. He hasn't been asked to take in a lot as a QB (Ole Miss RPO heaven & got quickly shelved by Rhule), so I imagine there's going to be a ton for him to digest within Reich's playbook and learning pro nuances. No one really knows how well he'll mesh and fold into the system so that's the big toss up at this point. I imagine we'll get hints during the summer as the team is coming together and going through camp. I don't think he's going anywhere but I don't think they're banking on him either. Would love to see him at least secure the backup role regardless of the QB that comes in.
  7. I'm sure some people think that given our history at the position but imagine most will fall in line if we wind up with Levis or AR. I honestly can't tell if it's more people wanting Young/Stroud at all costs or simply wanting to avoid Levis/AR at all costs. In my view, avoiding Levis is one of the most consistent themes in the fanbase in addition to the Stroud/Young trade up. Funny thing is picking Levis could be the most likely scenario whether we like it or not. I think a team could play him out of the gate, simply not the case with AR. Elsewhere, Carr is the only non-draft option that's not a single-season stitch (which just doesn't seem to be the angle) I'd bank on our next QB being one of 4 choices: Carr, Young, Stroud, or Levis. Hard seeing anything else, highly doubt Jackson happens. The only other scenario I could see is AR with Brissett/Heinicke/etc to start at first/until he's deemed ready. But that could get messy for a new staff. I also highly doubt Corral is even QB2 on our depth chart, his long shot for that is if we do land Carr. My 2 cents
  8. Well yeah, semantics wise, we can say "taking a shot" is basically using a draft pick. It's commonly being used in the context of taking the risk, grabbing your balls and nose, and jumping two feet in for a crazy trade.
  9. And historically, trades for #1 have happened before draft day. 49ers were a rare case of doing it prior not for the top spot. But I doubt that happens again unless it's another draft with such an obvious locked in top pick & the team at 1 isn't moving (Trevor-JAX).
  10. I don't understand what you're getting at. If it's #1, it's going for the top guy on the board, regardless of fan A, fan B, it's the team's top option.
  11. At #1, you have your choice of whoever, so no matter the opinion, you're getting the top designated option. A trade up to #3 or 5 brings in scenarios, specific players, etc. Within that option lies the hope that someone's top option is available.
  12. The fact that tomorrow is Thomas Brown's interview, it seems likely he is ahead of the Cooter on our list. Hopefully we get the news of the hire tomorrow and the staff is mostly locked up.
  13. I would just trade up with the Bears for our guy. Don’t want the leftover of the top 3, I want the one you think will be a top QB. It would be pricey but it’s time to take a shot. We’ve got the right QB mentors in place.
  14. Base package & scheme aside-- Burns is already used in an EDGE-ish role standing on the strong side a lot, from my more casual eye it seems like he's up more than hands are in the dirt. Chinn can float up to the box in a hybrid role. And then, we have Horn, Jackson, & Woods in place. Same goes for Brown on the line. So..I see three big defensive needs that could be scheme fluid/great versatile adds: An outfielder type S next to Woods (this would be FA) LB - next to Luvu (unless this can become Chinn) DL - 3 Down lineman that plays multi-tech. (285+lbs & large frame type). Can be a 3-4 end, 4-3 end, or 4-3 DT I actually quite like the draft for DL in the mid rounds, so could see the LB & S as the FA adds on defense. Maybe another CB. Okereke at LB is my bet given he's been under both Reich and our LB coach in separate spots. Offensively, we don't have a lot to spend, but there is a vet who I think could come back to his home state and flourish with Reich again: Keenan Allen.
  15. Sneaky team to watch would be Atlanta. Ridder was okay but this would be a notch up and he aligns with a lot of what Arthur Smith likes to do and is similar to what he brought out in Tannehill. They can also offer him a pretty fat contract up front/little finagling needed. I wouldn't mind if the Texans or Colts got him, then it opens the draft up a bit.
  16. I've seen on more than a few spots that Quentin's stock is not as high as people think. Addison is the runaway fave but there may not be a WR taken top-15.
  17. Bucs may be getting Caleb Williams at their current trajectory.
  18. So the Colts officially replace their former HC with his own mentee, from the same team, and same exact coaching tree lol.
  19. I'll own that I really wanted Ben Johnson, but gotta admit-- I HIGHLY doubt we would have been able to pull such a diverse staff from an experience standpoint with some of the other candidates. Reich's staff has such a good blend of up and comer (Staley, Evero, McCown, Hansen) and experience+success (Caldwell, Campen, Capers, Tabor) Add on a promising OC and we've got ourselves one hell of a coaching staff.
  20. So... HC: Frank Reich AHC/RB: Duce Staley OC: TBD O Assistant: Jim Caldwell (Former HC) QBC: Josh McNown OL: James Campen DC: Ejiro Evero D Assistant: Dom Capers (Former HC) LB Coach: Peter Hansen ST: Chris Tabor (Top-5 ST Coach in football) This is beyond promising.
