  1. Im simply working from the two most common definitions of the required qualities and in both cases that detachable magazine is pivotal. If pulling that feature gets us a step forward and closer together on reform Ill take it. Any carbine without a detachable magazine is simply not by definition an AR as we currently define them. If that becomes the law of the land and then people want to take on folding stocks, pistol grips. forward grips, Picatinny rails, et. al. Ill fight those fights that make sense when I have to.
  2. At which point is ceases to meat the definition of an AR. Retrofit any AR and bingo-bango no more AR We are actually agreeing even if you cant bring yourself to say it.
  3. Yep and we have banned ARs by all common definitions.
  4. That's all I'm focused on. The detachable magazine. Its universally listed as a (not the, but a) defining characteristic of an AR. If its a 5 round fixed magazine regardless of the recoil mechanism, the size or power of the round, the length of the barrel, the shroud, any rails, and a threaded barrel it ceases to be an AR by any of the standard definitions.
  5. But if its not an Assault Rifle without that one attribute, if you take that away it ceases to be an AR. Therefore banning that aspect is a de-facto ban on the weapon classification.
  6. Wouldn't that mean you support an Assault Rifle ban since one of the defining characteristics of an Assault Rifle is a detachable box magazine? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_rifle#Definition https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_weapon#Definitions_and_usage Yeah they are just a couple of Wikipedia citations but the footnotes are in place
  7. I know its going to bust up the tried and true scary gun narrative but AR style carbines are no more scary looking than any other gun when they are hanging on a wall. A Barret M82, that's fuging scary even hanging on a wall. But you dont see people going nuts at the mall or the local school with large frame high caliber rifles. ARs are simply weapons designed for maximum damage in a close quarter combat situations. Compact style, short barrels, Picatinny rails for all sorts of sighting attachments to increase their time on target. You want to know whats scary? 3D printed auto sears for Glock pistols. But nobody is ready to talk about banning one of the most popular handgun brands in America because their design is flawed (so easily modified to full auto)
  8. I would enter them all into a national registry, surrender any gun I own that was designated as a mil-spec weapon, and gladly get insurance for them individually. Id even store them at a gun club although at that point Id prob sell the vast majority if them. You're not a gun nut because of what you dont own so much as the fact that you dont seem to support any sort of gun reform.
  9. Id give it a grade of "Choice or better". Not good enough to be Prime but better than your run of the mill Choice.
  10. We keep a Mossburg 500 12ga 18.5" barrel & pistol grip loaded with #4 steel shot for the offhand chance we need to use it in doors under a stressful situation. For some unknown reason my wife really likes her Taurus 851 .38+P revolver. Thing kicks like it wants to be a .357
  11. In before the TB On topic: I have quite a few handguns, a number of shot guns, and a couple of small caliber rifles (think Ruger 10/22). Current fav is a Berretta 92F if I carry its my Sig P232
  12. This thread has opened my eyes to what sellers agent do so this is by no means a slight... But buyers agents earn every fuging penny. Every one we have ever had made us feel like we were their only client and ultimately got us in to the right home that we needed, at the right price, with the right concessions from the sellers, for that point in our lives.
  13. I haven't been to WDW that wasn't for a conference since '09 so everything I know is second hand or skewed by the deep discounts conference attendees get but my daughter, her husband, and 2 friends just went for a week. They stayed on property and did everything they wanted (light sabers, all the parks, every ride, etc) and ate in all the places they wanted and didnt spend but about 7k per couple. Turn that into a family of 4 and a weeks vacation with The Mouse for under 15k doesnt seem crazy to me.
  14. That's good info. Ill look into the legality thing 'cause I'm not looking to be one of those guys. I just want to reward our listing agent for a job well done but don't want to just fork over an excess of money if we get a full price offer on day one and the agent did the barest minimum to get the house in MLS.
  15. No that was our idea. I want to respect that if we agree to list at a fair price and he busts his hump to pit buyers against each other and get the price up he gets compensated. Fortunately for us we live in a community that has 4 or 5 different home plans so there are many homes with our exact floor plans and I cant count on both hands the number of them that have sold in the last year so comps are pretty straight forward.
  16. Talking to a guy who seems to be open to a flat fee with bonuses. Like 10% of anything above list, +cash for each additional offer he has to manage, and additional cash if we dont have a deal (not a closing but a deal) in 3 weeks. Fortunately my part of the world is still very much a sellers market with high desirability and low inventory. Homes in my surrounding area often go under contract in a week to ten days and dont often come back on the market.
  17. da fug are you talking about? I just said I love Bill. But time and the game have passed him by.
  18. As a pre-Panthers Giants fan who once thought Bill Parcels was the greatest head coach of all time... Bill needs to go back to his jigsaw puzzles and 4 o'clock dinners.
  19. Yeah but get Pro sports playing year round and think what that does to the vacation market. Come to Vegas, hit the casinos, catch a pro sports game (or two), see the show girls, hire a hooker... The marketing people will go wild
  20. My in-laws filled one in and later admitted it was one of the worst mistakes they made when it came to the house.
  21. This is the answer Ive been hoping to get. Thank you. Im going to hire a listing agent. That goes without question. I just wanted to be better informed about the costs they incur to justify a percentage as opposed to an hourly rate so that when I do sit down with the 4 or 5 agents my wife has lined up I neither got taken for a ride or insulted them.
  22. Gambling capital of the US and you wonder why they are accumulating pro sports teams...
  23. If they give you the run around @d-dave DM me. I just swapped out an ASUS ROG Thor 850 for a 1k PSU. Reading your posts have made it worth the cost of shipping it to you.
  24. 11k dollars worth lighting and photoshopping?
