  1. Going to disagree. I was happy to see multiple running plays yesterday that used a power run scheme. I'm pretty sure Olsen commented on it during the broadcast as well. They also put Bryce under center more than I can remember in any other game.
  2. Dang. This tells me that Frank is staring at one-and-done. I thought for sure he'd get at least 2 years.
  3. This breakdown provides a small glimmer of hope; The play calling against the Bears was actually scheming players open!
  4. How is Arthur not on this list? I'd be surprised if he gets a 4th year if the Falcons miss the playoffs.
  5. Frank seems like the type that will fall on the sword for his guys. He basically did that by taking the bullets in the early season and then trying to set TB up for success against the soft part of our schedule (after a bye).
  6. What's the point of firing someone? To send a message? I'm pretty sure everyone in the building knows they need to do better. Firing because you are [insert negative emotion of choice] is the exact thing a caricature of Tepper would do right now. The only reason to fire someone at this point is if they are doing (or not doing) something that is hurting Bryce's development.
  7. Was thinking the same thing. Do what you can to protect Bryce the rest of the season, while still letting him play and get reps. Literally, the only thing that matters is Bryce's development at this point. He will likely outlast the GM and HC that drafted him.
  8. The opportunity to trade Chinn went out the window when he was placed on IR.
  9. Put me down for "won't get traded". Unless some team is offering 2 1sts or similar compensation there is no reason for the Panthers to pull the trigger. They can tag Burns in the offseason with the non-exclusive tag and let him see his worth on the open market; Either he gets his money and the Panthers get their picks or Burns comes back to the table at a more team-friendly rate.
  10. Wonder if this means they are bringing someone else in.
  11. The whole 2021 QB debacle. Trading for Darnold before the draft which led to us having to trade Teddy for peanuts and pass on Fields when he fell to 9. Then following that up by NOT trading the 9th pick to the Bears when they obviously wanted to move up and take Fields. Could have kept the BRIDGEwater QB in place, let Fields develop for a year, and not begin the whole train of throwing away draft picks.
  12. Only signed for this season. Very cheap for the acquiring team, < $1M after proration.
  13. Nice writeup. And I agree 100%. Patience is important here.
  14. What kind of offense are you proposing here? J/K
  15. If y'all fire Fitt at the bye are you willing to fire his replacement in a year or two if the Reich+Young combo doesn't work out? If not we are just perpetuating the trend of staggered HC and GM hires. I'd rather see the GM, HC, and QB tied together for at least two seasons. If it looks like it's not working after next season pull the rip cord on the whole lot.
  16. Oh well. Thought it was worth the risk for that price. Talent is there.
  17. Was always going to be a "ham sandwich" type of deal. I would have preferred the Panthers spend essentially no draft capital for the slight chance that Claypool works out. One of these WRs was just acquired for a ham sandwich the other is supposedly worth a 2nd and a 4th. Can you figure out who to pay extra draft capital for?
  18. Seems to sum up the Panthers season thus far. Competitive games through 3 quarters and then the big letdown late exacerbated by the defense finally breaking.
  19. I expect Brown to take over during the bye week. Frank will fall on the sword these next two weeks (Lions and Dolphins) and give TB a fighting chance for a W against the Texans with 2-weeks to plan.
  20. I'd do Burns for DJ + Chicago's 2nd.
  21. The Bears are literally giving away a guy that would be a WR1 for the Panthers, you could probably swing it for a pick swap or some other ham sandwich type deal. I don't particularly care that he may be an off the field distraction. It gives the offense some juice while sparing the precious little draft capital the team has. That is unless this whole thing is actually a ruse to create a shadow market for Brian Burns.
  22. I didn't realize he was unsigned. Last week at this time the Twitter was saying he had signed. I didn't see that he changed his mind. I'd love to have him back, but he seems to be having some bigger struggles right now than finding a football team.
  23. They are likely just looking to replace Luton on the PS. It seems to me like the team was saving a spot on the PS for Corral. Then last week happened and the team needed a backup QB while Bryce took a week off while Corral simultaneously signed with the Pats practice squad. Both things combined meant it made the most sense to bring in the only other QB that had experience in our system. If anything, this suggests Bryce will be back soon since they would no longer need Luton to be the backup.
