  1. Media wanted a "tipping point" moment to write about. Tepper didn't want to give them one.
  2. Yes, but I don't know if the 'Aints will trade him to a division rival ... or if we should be spending our already limited draft capital on a HC.
  3. Defense was playing well. Have to think this is by choice.
  4. Just imagine if the NFL protected Cam like they do Brady. Cam would be in the prime of his career right now ... sigh
  5. The team decides when a player comes off of IR. This might be the 5-week type of high ankle sprain
  6. I'd want to see it at least once as well. I'm not expecting miracles.
  7. Expected. No way was the team going to pay a 4th rounder for a lost season of Baker Mayfield.
  8. I'd prefer to keep most of the roster in-tact. It's largely talented and cheap. Robbie, Shaq, CMC are your big ticket items that I'd entertain trades for. Guys on expiring contracts can also go for the right price (e.g. Erving, Bozeman, Elflein) I also strongly suspect that the team will find a way to sit Baker so they don't have to pay the 4th round escalator.
  9. There are several downsides: Wasted cap space/rollover Further tarnish Cam's legacy by not putting him in a position to succeed
  10. The writing was on the wall for him to be let go this season. I am slightly surprised it was this early into the season. I hope Rhule finds success at his next stop. I think he will.

  12. This team is a QB away from regular playoff appearances. The defense is ready. The O-line is good enough. The rushing attack is one of the better ones in the league.
  13. Right now this offense is producing outputs (run/pass ratio, expected points per run/pass, turnover rate, penalty rate) most similar to the 2021 Cleveland Browns ... I doubt they are the same schematically though; we know they use different terminology.
  14. I'm not sure the intended outcome of this thread. Do Huddlers want actual optimism or is this a means to drive traffic via bickering and name-calling? I'll assume the former. Reasons for optimism: Defense is still good Redzone defense seems to be improved; a focus from the offseason Tackling and run defense, a point of emphasis from week 1, seemed to have been remedied in week 2 Interior OL holding up well vs the pass rush; Icky is taking his lumps but should get better as the season goes along. Baker seems like an improvement at QB. When he gets time the offense looks decent. Fumbled snaps (an issue from week 1) seem to have been resolved in week 2 The team has had the lead in the 4th quarter of both games; they are competitive but need to finish In-game decision making (via the HC) seems decent I liked the "jump the snap" penalty on Ioannidis. Better odds of getting the ball back from 1st and 10 vs 2nd and 4. This team will go as far as the offense will take it. The defense is good enough. The hope is that the offense will grow in comfort and execution over the course of the season; I realize the schedule is daunting and the record is already in a 2 game hole.
  15. Absent some Gruden type emails, the "RED HOT" phase where a firing is imminent won't happen until the team has been eliminated from the playoffs. More than likely Rhule is coaching the entire season regardless.
  16. I don't particularly think Baker is over organized. But maybe that's just me. /s
  17. Do not want. He is benefiting immensely from having the GOAT. It feels a lot like Gase "coaching" Manning to me.
  18. I like it. A practice squad QB with upside. I wonder if Fitterer reach out to anyone with Seattle before bringing the kid in.
  19. Agree. I figured we would claim 1 or 2 players. Didn't see a whole lot of "cut-able" guys to make room for more.
  20. I generally like the way the Eagles handle the QB position. They are currency in todays NFL. Book will likely serve as a cheap backup or be flipped for a mid to late round pick in the future.
  21. Looking at the claims from teams with higher waiver priority, the only guys I think the team may have tried to claim: K, Riley Patterson (doubtful since the Pinero signing was announced earlier this morning) LB, Ty Summers DT, Benito Jones
  22. Ricci is the FB but gets listed at TE. IIRC, we kept 5 TE early last season.
  23. To bring some of the K's that were cut today I would assume.
