I don't understand some of the Wilson talk here, yes he has a lot of talent around him, but you cannot deny how good he is himself. With that being said, I don't know how well he would have done here with this coaching staff. That's the biggest factor to me. Pete Carroll is up there with Bill Belichick in terms of football mind. I wish Rivera could get even close to that level.

Not bad actually. I don't much care for how massive the logos are though, a little more subtlety would help.

DGB Considered "Best WR to Come Out since Calvin Johnson."
TheRed replied to nctarheel0619's topic in Carolina Panthers
I guess some people are under the impression that after using the Franchise Tag on Hardy that Gettleman will be very hesitant from here on out, which is certainly plausible obviously, but personally I just don't buy that with what I've seen from DG so far. -

You're welcome. I am just fine with payment in the form of sexual favors. -

I want another OT as well, but I don't think you get desperate to the point that you take one in the first round just to say you got one. -

Did someone say something? I almost heard a little voice but it was too faint. Ohwell, must have just been the wind. I honestly would draft DGB, but I don't know about the first round. I will trust Gettleman if he decides to take him though. -

I understand, and obviously that's a factor. But that horse has already been beaten so badly in other threads (mostly by him) that there is literally nothing left of it. -

Please do not let Mr. Scot poo up another thread with the same tired morality posts over and over. It's the offseason, if you don't like these prospects, don't post in the thread.- 193 replies

Elite or not, really doesn't matter. Contracts for NFL players period are only going up, you can argue all day if they are worth it, but that's for another topic. It's about Newton's importance to the team. He has been carrying our offense on his back since we drafted him. It's kind of silly to be referencing "demands" like you know what Newton or his agent are thinking. The only contract numbers that have floated around are pure speculation. Gettleman has already said a deal will get done, just calm your tits.

MHS isn't a bad guy at all, he is actually very intelligent. Unfortunately there is one matter that turns him into a raging potato, and that is Cam Newton. Anywho, I will not derail your thread any further. My apologies Huddler.

Here is a gem of a thread. This post, lol.

There were an unfortunate number of fans here including him who felt that Gettleman was not "sold" on Cam based on out of context comments made by Dave. Due to that, they openly argued that we should "get what we can for him". Idiocy was running rampant. Of course the Panthers went on a lengthy win streak not long after that and all those folks pretended they never said any of that.
-
The fact that you are still on the leadership angle says more about you than it does anyone else MHS. Can you guys imagine where this team would be if we had traded Newton back in October 2013 like MHS wanted? Yeah, what a great talent evaluator you are, you should totally be a general manager.
-
Please elaborate on how you would like to see him "lead" when the team is "down by 14". I think Newton has made big strides in being a leader for this team. The fact that you keep bringing this up like it's still even a question or we somehow went back in time four years ago is why you are getting blasted. Particularly considering the praise about his leadership straight from the players themselves, like Greg Olsen.

Justin Medlock over Olindo Mare? Bueller?...

Ermagerd there are threads about the Panthers franchise quarterback on a Panthers message board! Oh the humanity!

Still hard to believe at times that Squirrel was a mod. Take it somewhere else bud.

Yes of course he does. You could argue that pretty much every quarterback in the NFL has at least one element within their game that they could improve upon. Even Aaron Rodgers wasn't his usual self in the playoffs against Seattle. These guys are all human. In regards to Cam though, he has said himself that he knows what he needs to work on. There is no reason to believe that he won't. One thing that will help him and the offense substantially is adding much needed speed to our receiving corps in the offseason.

I'm sure the "realists" of this board like Dex can find another thread about Newton to bump and talk poo about him in.

Has Voth changed his opinion of Hardy's future?
TheRed replied to Nick_81's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think that depends heavily on the information that the NFL may or may not get to look at in relation to the dismissal of the case. But I disagree with how you simply lump this in with Peterson and Rice. They were both clearly guilty of what they were accused of. The case for Hardy in general has basically been a he said/she said from the beginning. He may or may not be suspended, who knows, but I wouldn't count on the NFLPA just laying down. -

Do you really not see the obvious differences between Peterson's situation versus that of Hardy? One guy admitted and was indicted for felony child abuse. The other was facing misdemeanor charges in a case that ended up being dismissed altogether. -
If you really don't like a player on your own team just because he beat your favorite college team several years ago, you need help.
