  1. I don't mind the decision itself if it had been made initially, and not when things became inconvenient for owners. The problem is that he was quiet and fine with playing Greg Hardy until the league started taking hits to it's public image, then suddenly it was all unacceptable and he's all tearful at a press conference. Meanwhile our football team was getting blown out in 6 games by the mid point of the season. I didn't see any crocodile tears about that. Overall it looked pretty hypocritical.
  2. Is SCMunnerlyn the one who had a complete meltdown a month or two ago and talked about how much he hated Cam Newton because of petty poo in college?
  3. At one point Dex was barely a half step above the likes of CharlottePanther, Carolina Chuck, and SuperJ. Fortunately, he has slowly worked his way back to being a respectable contributor.
  4. In reality the list should basically begin and end with Lola and the rest of our female huddlers. The rest of you should just go ahead and start practicing peeing while sitting down. Better luck next year.
  5. You made it that far? The dropped game winning touchdown in Cincinnati sealed it for me.
  6. I'm not against drafting Gurley or an RB in general. But if it's in the first round, just on instinct I'm probably going to turn into that "not this sh*t again" meme for a brief moment.
  7. I remember after the big season Hardy had in 2013, there were a number of people questioning his consistency, saying that many of those sacks happened in a few games instead of a span of the season. Which was a valid question, and I wondered myself at the time. However, when you fast forward to the 2014 season, specifically when we were getting blown out 6 times in a 10 game stretch, you can't help but ask yourself how much of a role his absence played in that. I can't downplay the loss this will be for our D. The division title and playoff victory kind of took the sting out of how truly awful our defense was at one point last season. Luckily however, Ealy showed promise as the season progressed, and CJ finally had a chance to get healthy. We have obvious needs on offense, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gettleman drafts another DE.
  8. Hell no, I'll burn this motherfugger down. Luke is retiring a Panther. Period.
  9. Kind of a trivial point to argue out of all that, no? Main thing is we took a chance with the offense last year and it backfired. We learned from it and have the opportunity to upgrade this year, we should do all we can to do so. The ultimate goal is to compete for a Super Bowl, and we have to go through Seattle to do so.
  10. Not sure if "great" is the proper word.
  11. I'm fine with building a strong defense. But if you're going to clear out Newton's entire WR core and make his #1 WR a rookie in the same offseason that he had ankle surgery, all while heading into a contract year, you can only blame him so much for the circumstances you put him in. Yeah we ended up winning the division and a playoff game, but those blowout losses should not be so quickly forgotten. One of the main reasons for those losses was the lack of firepower we had on offense. That's okay if your defense is picking up the slack, but that wasn't happening early on. Even in the playoffs when our defense had returned to form somewhat we still allowed Wilson a near perfect passer rating on 3rd down. Again our offense did not have the firepower to keep up. If our goal is to win the Super Bowl, which it obviously should be, we need to do all we can to keep improving our offense. The "well all we have to do is replace this number on yards and we're good" approach was laughable then, and it was even more laughable when we were getting shithoused by teams like the Vikings last year. Yeah signing Ginn is a start, but we definitely need another receiving threat, and it looks like it will have to be through the draft.
  12. I'd say it's a wash really. Indy has taken a different approach anyway.
  13. I don't think he's ever used the word "rebuilding". I could be wrong though. Mostly it's been about salary cap restraints. Yeah man I'm happy with another division title and a playoff win too. But I'm not going to lie to myself, we had luck with that and we were also surrounded by a crumbling division. That isn't going to happen every year though, other teams improve too.
  14. It's Chuck, that's pretty much expected. He's trying to make a point, just not doing so well at it. In reality though, how many QB's have you ever heard of who while heading into a contract year, having offseason ankle surgery, had their entire WR core cleared out, and on top of all this, had a rookie as his #1 WR. I can't think of any off the top of my head. We pour a lot of resources into our defense, and I'm okay with that. Problem is though, our defense was fairly atrocious at certain points last season. We paid the price for our offseason approach to the offense early on last season, we were blown out 6 times. Things got better as the season went on, part of that was because our defense improved, but we were still limited in our ability to score points, mainly because the only speed we had was a UDFA WR from Ohio State. We signed Ginn, but there is still room to improve. Ultimately that is what most people here want, to keep improving. If we want to keep up with NFC teams like Seattle and Green Bay, we have to be able to score points. It's that simple, and last season in the playoffs against Seattle it clearly showed that we lacked the firepower to keep up. We don't have to break the bank to do this.
  15. Most here knew Torrey Smith, and Randall Cobb were never a realistic option money wise. Crabtree, Royal, and Nicks could have worked though. Johnson, while an option, likely wasn't going anywhere but Indy though pretty much.
  16. Where all these people screaming for us to go out and blow a billion dollars on free agents? From what I have seen, most are simply saying to weigh our options, and many of them will not require "big money".
  17. You're basically talking like you have literally conversed with Newton about these things. Then you added the comment about Luck supposedly staying in college because he felt he couldn't win here. Where are you getting all this?
  18. Most of that is speculation. Nobody really knows but Gettleman, and Newton.
  19. I think most people realize that he does have "weapons". I wouldn't call the few buffoons running around as a "crowd". Instead of worrying about the fact that people are making these claims, you should ask yourself why. It took the Panthers 4 years (the bulk of Newton's very reasonable rookie deal) to acquire a legit WR through the draft. Of course by sheer coincidence this was the same season he had ankle surgery, and we decided to clear out the entire WR core. Not exactly a recipe for success. I think we have proper enough pieces right now, but we definitely need to look to keep improving if we can.
  20. Brown was already looking pretty damn good before he had a few injuries. With him having a whole offseason to get into shape and bulk up a bit, he and Ginn should definitely make some noise this coming season. I'm just hoping that Cotchery picks his game up and becomes the reliable target that we signed him to be last year. When you add Fozzy to the mix, that's a good bit of speed to work with. I still hope we draft another WR though.
  21. Where have you gotten any indication that Newton does not want to be here? I know you are all in a tizzy over FA, but at least wait until we've had the draft. Gettleman has already said that a deal will get done.
