Ealy, Oher, Funchess.

Considering all the hits he took last year. I can't blame him. You've got to protect your QB no matter who is behind center, or you aren't going to win many games. Which we saw firsthand last year while our QB was getting pummeled into the ground while we were getting blown out. I'm glad he is being vocal, all our players need to expect the best from one another. If you can't trust your teammate to do his job, it affects yours. Our franchise as a whole needs to up it's standards, mediocre is not acceptable. We are slowly changing that, but we've still got more to do.

So how likely is it that Lee Ward makes the roster? With Oher being a question mark, we're gonna need all the help we can get.

At one point, Byron Bell was also regarded as serviceable. Might be time to up our standards.

I'm not sure which is more concerning, the fact that our starter Oher is struggling, or the fact that his backup at this point is Nate Chandler.

It's easy to preach patience in August, but if our QB is being relentlessly sacked into the turf again come October, pretty much everyone will be losing their poo. Give Oher a proper chance, but do not forget how awful that stretch of losses was last year, impacted substantially by our lack of adequate OL talent.

It's the first day in pads, so I'm not going to be too hard on Oher, but after the Byron Bell fiasco, I'm not going to take things for granted either. If this trend continues, we need to go out and get ourselves some more tackle depth asap. We cannot make the same mistake as last year. We need as much time as possible for our starting OL to gel.

I'm simply happy with the fact that Oher didn't just let him blow right by him, then proceed to stand there pretending to block no one hoping that the coaches don't notice.

His comment and elaboration about Newton coming into this situation with only 1 year of D1 football echo what others have been saying to the impatient buffoons here for years. It's been a tough 4 years for Cam. But it has made him a better quarterback. To think, at one point some fans actually entertained the possibility that Gettleman was going to trade him, lol.

Most of the people here were just kids when MJ was in his prime playing for the Bulls. I grew up with the Hornets, but was definitely a fan of Jordan's game, what kid wasn't? Personally, I think there is a big difference between a kid idolizing one of the greatest athletes ever, and a grown adult shamelessly bandwagoning. I don't see anything wrong with being a fan of LeBron's game in general. But that doesn't mean you have to bandwagon, and act like you've been a fan of that team all along.

No strawman. Simply pointing out that our team as a whole was simply not ready to beat the Seahawks, they all need to step it up this year. I definitely don't think that Cam played "amazing". But not many quarterbacks do so against the Seattle defense. Even Aaron Rodgers struggled. Basic point is, Newton knows that he has things to improve on, he forced a few passes, not the end of the world. He'll learn from it.

Meh, didn't expect much if anything from him anyway. I am however again concerned about our depth at tackle. We're already practically hinging our season on Oher, Gettleman has his work cut out for him.

I don't know about that, the huge influx of new Heat fans that came and went when he signed with Miami, and all the new Cavs fans popping up again can't exactly be shrugged off. Sure there are still some people who hate him. Plenty of people absolutely despised Kobe Bryant, and still do. It isn't just James.

I'm not implying that people are still upset about that, I was merely pointing out, that in regards to much of the "hate" he has received over the years, that was a substantial factor. Not even going to bother comparing rosters of previous generations. Jordan always gets dragged into this, let LeBron's legacy stand on it's own.

You can't expect a team to walk into the defending Super Bowl champions house in the playoffs with a completely gutted WR core, paired with an injury riddled OL, and expect some chances not to be taken, and some mistakes not to be made. Our offense last year was not built to score points all that quickly, let alone keep up with an opposing offense that our defense allowed a ridiculous stat line for on third down. Luckily we have added some needed pieces to our offense since then.

LeBron is responsible himself for a large amount of the disdain he receives. The whole decision fiasco with Miami in leaving Cleveland to go team up with Wade and Bosh instead of building a winner with the Cavs originally is where that stems from, and only James himself is to blame for that. Let's just be completely clear about that. James made the correct choice in going back to Cleveland to right the wrongs. I commend him for that. But you really don't need to drag Jordan into this to paint LeBron in a better light. It wasn't Jordan who ditched the Bulls when things got tough.

Those numbers aren't any less cherry picked than the ones posted by the people who don't like LeBron. Look, we know the Cavs had injuries. Regardless, the Warriors were the better team. Give them credit. Are you going to attempt to make these same excuses for the finals against the Spurs the year before? They can improve, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend like the Cavs have a squad of bums around James, especially as weak as the East has been.

If you as a fan have to argue all the time that a guy is the greatest, how great is he really? If a player literally has to boast that he is the best in the game (as LeBron did in the finals this year), is he really? When the team wins, and LeBron's supporting cast are dropping 3's, nobody says poo. When he misses shots, and the team loses, suddenly everybody but him sucks, and he's got one of the worst supporting casts in the NBA. Let his play speak for itself.

LeBron would be the logical choice, but he isn't the only option. Regardless, they should probably just leave that movie alone, and not potentially ruin anyone's childhood.
