This makes absolute perfect sense because just the other day I was asking myself how in the hell do you get a completely new QB with a brand new OC, brand new O line and the offense still look IDENTICAL to the last three years, what are the odds of that? I mean it looks so identical that if I was living under a rock abc didn’t even know we signed Baker, I would have never guessed in a million years that it wasn’t Sam playing this year and we got a new QB. It blows my mind how much the offense is the same despite the top down change from the QB to the OC to the O line. How does that even happen?!

It makes too much sense to trade him to the Bulls for a 1st, considering they will be picking anywhere between 28-32, that would be a steal for them and make them unstoppable. Before you say I’m crazy and they would never do that, what player can you draft between picks 28-32 with as much upside as CMC, especially considering his age. -
Your daily Laughing coaching staff press conference (9/22)
panthersgreenville replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
In hindsight sure but I know for a fact that Ron was in his 3rd year, his seat was very hot and people were saying the same exact thing during that 0-2 start as they are saying now. In fact, even after we beat the Giants that year to improve to 1-3, we then got blown out the following week by the Cardinals and we were sitting at 1-3 before going on a 11-1 run. Now I will say that yes, us going on a similar run is VERY unlikely and Rhule isn’t half the coach Rivera is, but precedent is precedent. -

So in case any of you want SOMETHING to cling to.. Fun little fact.. In 2013 when we started 0-2 and ended up 12-4, our first two losses were by a combined 5 pts.. This year our first two losses are by a combined 5 pts. Just a neat little bit of info I researched and found today. -
Sean Payton to coach in 2023 for the right team
panthersgreenville replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
I literally can’t think of a single other retread HC other than Andy Reid that went on to have success with another team. Fox and the Broncos don’t count considering he had Peyton Manning and a prime Von Miller.. I could have coached that team to a SB -
If (when) we lose to the saints, bet anything he is starting the following Sunday.
-
Not quite but compare Sam’s first two games last season Baker’s this season and the difference is vast.
-
Also another note, there is just something about baker that seems like he doesn’t care or really doesn’t want to be here. He has this lackadaisical and apathetic body language and demeanor, no fire or grit at all
-
I want Sam back.. No I’m not joking or being sarcastic. He has more extensive knowledge of the playbook and we have a healthy cmc and slightly better O line than last year. Bet anything Sam will be starting next Sunday

Well obviously if a new team came to charlotte I would pull for them, but what would the likelihood be of that happening
-
I would stay a Panthers fan, I mean it makes the most sense when you think about it. Either A. Stop following the nfl all together or B. Pick another team you have absolutely no passion about or ties to or C. Just stuck with the panthers despite the move, I mean you have a history and story there.

I just realized that none of the CA, FL or NY teams are going to be in the market for a new HC. This is a big deal because those are the most desired landing spots for potential head coaches to want to live.. Dolphins, Raiders, Chargers, Rams, Giants, Jets, Bills, Bucs and Jags.. None of those teams are looking to not be in search of a new head coach, the only “desirable” team that MIGHT be looking is Dallas, but besides them? What other team is set to fire their head coach? Most of the bad teams this year are first time head coaches, and with the exception of the Cardinals, I don’t see any big time markets looking.

Hypothetical: What Happens Next?

Interesting, I wonder how you can prove a team is tanking though -
Wow that actually happened?! Lol, sounds like a miracle
-
I mean the Browns just got beat by the Jets
-
Sam can at least win against bad teams and didn’t choke against his former team. More than I can say for Baker.
-
Hate on Sam all you want but there is a real possibility we would be 2-0 right now with Darnold. Before you think I’m crazy, there is at least precedent that Darnold can beat the bad teams when everyone including CMC is healthy as evidenced by our 3-0 start last season. The Giants and the Browns are the same level quality of the first three teams we played last season. Also, it’s a indisputable fact that Darnold looked miles better than Baker when you compare the first two games of the season, both stats and film prove this. And this might be a cheap shot, but Darnold didn’t at least choke against his former team the Jets like Baker did against the Browns. Sorry not sorry

Say what you will about Sam, but at the very least there is precedent of him winning against bad teams given our 3-0 start last year, another thing for certain is compare Sam’s first two games last season to Baker’s first two games this season and Sam looked miles better than Baker has and the stats as well as the wins back that up. And I would say the Giants and especially the browns are on par of our first two opponents from last year (the browns just lost to the jets btw) And, also.. Sam didn’t at least choke when playing his former team unlike Mayfield.
