  1. Let's say we do win out and go 9-8, with a Division Title. Playing the style of football we play, we are not going to be an easy out. Teams have been put on notice that the Panthers come to play, and you had better put your big boy pants on, We are playing the type of games that playoff games always come down to. Who can instill their will upon the other. Pretty good D with a punishing O. Sounds like Playoff Football to me.
  2. Wilks does not have a losing record since taking over. C'mon man. If you truly don't see the difference in the teams play since Wilks took over? You are missing a good time. We may very well be standing on ground zero of something truly big. Who knows?
  3. The Panthers are on the verge of establishing a winning culture. With Sam Darnald, and a coaching staff that is still learning to work together. We may not be world beaters yet, but man, with some luck this team will just continue to get better. Winning begets winning and losing begets losing. Right now, we are trending towards winning. I can live with that.
  4. I was literally just going to post this. This team actually looks like a real NFL team. Who'd a thunk it.
  5. He's filled in admirably lately. Don't get me wrong, Woods is better. But Hartfield is having a pretty good year for himself.
  6. Man, there is a whole lot of petty in here. You would hope that the Christmas spirit would calm some of this down. I guess Message Boards are immune.
  7. The Packers have had 2 HOF QBs over the last 26yrs. And have a whopping 2 SB wins. Talent alone can't do diddly.
  8. You leave Goff alone. He's fine right where he is. lol
  9. I see 2 scenarios for how this alll unfolds. 1. Sam balls out and we go 4-1. Both Sam and Wilks return. 2. Sam continues to struggle, and we go 2-3. Neither Sam nor Wilks return. I like option 1, because you can build off a strong finish. But we'd still have Sam and Wilks. However, you have to start a winning culture somewhere. I like option 2 for the future. But I hate losing games. It makes building a winning culture so much more difficult.
  10. Another insult. Boy o Boy you are something ain't cha? How about you raise your level of posting above the gutter, and we'll play it from there?
  11. Nice, another insult. It goes well with all the poo you throw.
  12. I agree. Stats can be a useful tool when forming an argument. But on their own, they are a curse. lol
  13. It wasn't about Ickey. I was about you telling others to, how'd you say it? "stop caring about popularity awards." Not sure if you know it, but that's not your call to make. I didn't say anything about Ickey. You might want to brush up on your comprehension skills.
  14. There are 2 teams with a realistic shot at the SuperB owl. Buf, and KC. both their QBs were taken right around where we will be sitting. You play to win, take what you get, and do the best you can with it. Edit to add; Or Hurts in the 2nd, and Prescott in the 4th. It may be nice to have a top pick. But if you play it right. You don't need it.
  15. I get really confused about stat usage around here. Stats are good if you want to make a point. Stats are bad when you want to make a counterpoint. However, stats, I've been told, are for losers. I guess I'll continue to use them when I think I need them, and lol at them when others use them? Is there a handbook for this sort of thing? lol
  16. IMO, the CBA is the reason there is so much bad football. Not enough practice time. I get that you can only get so much out of practice. That nothing beats actual playing time. But practice is the only time some of these guys have to impress the coaches.
  17. lol You may not care about our players getting recognition. However, there are a lot of us who truly enjoy it when our players win awards. It shows that we really do have some good players. So, I suppose you don't care that in Pro Bowl voting Hekker is leading his position. Or that Burns is 4th among DE? I mean, what's the use of rooting for a player, if you don't enjoy the little things that go along with that?
  18. Good point. In a perfect world, every QB would get a fair shot. Unfortunately, that's not how things go. The CBA doesn't allow for enough practice time for this to be a possibility. Man, the scouting gurus on here would go nuts having to actually learn more than just a few top names. Imagine the research that would go into picking a QB in the later rounds? Imagine the arguments over which 5th rounder has the most upside. It could be epic.
  19. Be interesting to see how far this Baker thread goes. Asking for a friend.
  20. Not gonna lie. It got off to a rocky start in Detroit. Campell was calling plays, and Goff was struggling. Then Campell gave the reins to Johnson. And boom, the light came on. The only people who are not high on Goff, are the ones that haven't watched him play.
  21. Using stats to evaluate is only part of the equation. You can make stats say whatever you want. The fact is. Detroit is 5th in scoring. (319) But their D has given up even more. (324) Tough to win when you score 30+ and lose. But hey, you still got that Payoff jinx to cling to.
  22. \ Don't believe everything you read. Goff is in no way in danger of his job. He and Johnson have been clicking since late last year.
  23. C'mon man. Goff has been playing well since Campell turned over playcalling to Johnson late last year. They finished last year on a 3 game winning streak. They were hoping to continue that this year, but the Defense let em down. Now the D is starting to step up. This ain't your daddy's Lions.
