lol It's posts like this that keep me reupping my subscription every year.

Yeah, that one kinda confused me as well. Although, I do find that confusing me is so much easier than it used to be. So, I really wasn't too sure in the first place. lol

You know what's cool about living in the past as you do? You are never wrong. You know what's cool about living in the present? The uncertainty of what is to come. You have a choice. Continue driving yourself miserable by being afraid the past is going to repeat itself. OR...you can join the present and enjoy watching what the future may hold. But we already know which path you will take don't we?
-
You know, screw it. If you can't see the direction this team is headed. Then by all means carry on. Let the past dictate your thinking. We have a Coaching staff most teams would love to have. We have a FO that is forward thinking, and not afraid to take chances. We have an owner that has learned to let his football people run his team. And we have a Franchise QB. Join up, or get back, because there is whole lot of Panther fans who are excited as all get out over the future of this franchise.
-
So...after all that? How you calling it? Panthers (If Bryce plays well. If he falters? Well things can change can't they?) NO Atl TB Call it my way too early to call it prediction.
-
It's late, and it really doesn't matter. But I wanted to say; Well said. For the first time in long time, we are set up for success. Who in their right mind wouldn't want that? Owner and GM on the same page? Yup. GM and Head Coach on the same page? Yup. Head Coach and Coaching Staff on the same page? Yup. Franchise QB? If it works out like folks believe. Mediocrity will soon be a thing of the past. And C'mon man. Who doesn't want that? And for the time being. It is an actual possibility.
-
Part of me is going to be a little scared at responding to you, cuz you tend to scare me. If, and it's a big if, that D, and that QB can get their crap together? They just may be an interesting team.
-
See, that's the thing. Nobody knows? We got guys we wanted. The Lions are in the same boat. They got the guys they wanted. It just cost more that pundits thought they were worth. I love being a fan. And this place has been a God Send. When the Observer crashed in what 08? This place was the only place worthy. And for the most part, it still is. I love this place. And I am so happy things are trending upwards. But hey, that could be just me.

IMO, there are 2 ways this is going to go. 1. Bryce is Bryce, and we are a competitive team from the get go. 2. Um... I don't really see a 2. This team is set up for success. Divisional Champs, Roty, Coach of the Year. If this isn't the time of year to see that? Edit to add; If, by chance, Bryce fails. Well, I guess we start all over again eh?
-
Yeah, It looks like if any rook is going to succeed, Bryce has the best shot. Fingers crossed.
-
Yeah, this franchise, for maybe the first time ever, is set up like a successful franchise should be. A mix of youth with some elder statesmen thrown in. Lots of experience. The window is defiantly wide azz open right now.
-
I mean to be fair, that was 2 whole pages ago. lol
-
Hey, you don't have to sell me. I'm a huge Caleb fan. I'm just saying, as much as I believe in Bryce, if he does struggle? It could get very interesting up in here. Edit to add; I have no fear that this staff will get the best out of Bryce. I truly believe we have our guy.
-
Man, if Bryce struggles, you know we are going to get those "We shoulda waited a year to grab out QB" threads. lol
-
I truly believe that most folks just can't let go of the past. Their fear of the past is stronger than their hope for the future. Also, there are those that just have to be realists. But that's a whole different animal. lol
-
There are plenty of ways to try to reach your potential as a QB. I'll take the QB that lives in the film room every time.
-
There is really only 1 positive to come out of tanking. A lower draft pick. (And we all know it's a crap shoot at best anyway.) Whereas, there are a whole lot of negatives if you get caught. It just doesn't seem like something a smart franchise would/should do.
-
Nobody disrespects the Panthers better than some of their own fans. Fear of the past is strong in some of these people.

Bryce Young Speaks With Panthers Legend Jake Delhomme
Gerry Green replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is a very large contingent of Panther fans who absolutely LOVE Cam. And almost all of them would welcome him home when his playing days are over. But there are a few hard core Cam fans who just know he still has something in the tank, and needs to come home to finish his career where it started. It seems Hero's have a tough time of it. -
Contrary to popular belief I really do like a lively debate. But the one thing I hate more than guest hosts on Johnny Carson? People arguing the past, patting themselves on the back, and getting upset over supposedly bad draft/FA picks. Take a couple of days to get it out, and then let's move on. It's over, bring on the future. Fan is short for fanatic. And we have our share up in here I tell ya what.
-
LOL for the record. Is this going on my Permanent Record? The most important part of this is the fact that I said if Bryce was the target, I would get on board. And I did, Who cares what is said during the draft process? I didn't want him, and I made fun of him. How dare me? He is now a Panther and I will defend and support him. Is that what you wanted to hear?
-
Dang.. I guess we made a huge mistake?

We've been trying for like 2 days to talk him down from the edge. He is coming around, albeit rather slowly. But he is defiantly less frantic than he was yesterday. I don't get how ANYONE that has been a Panther fan for any length of time cannot see that this staff kills. C'mon folks. You are supposed to learn from the past. Not live there.- 85 replies

Cam is the Past. Sure, he was a glorious part of that past, but his time here has come to an end as a player. Now if Cam is done playing. I'm sure, just like Luke, Jake, and Smitty he would be welcomed home. It seems, at least as of right now anyway, that Cam still has that drive to play. That just won't be here. At least not this year what with Dalton, Bryce, Matt, and Eason all under contract. Wishing Cam the best, until he decides to hang em up. Then part 2 of the Cam story can commence. And there sure are a lot of us who would welcome him back home. I tell ya what. -
I'm sure that all makes perfect sense. But I ain't reading all that just to learn there is a time and place to tank. Guess what? There is no proper place, nor is there a proper time. Tanking is basically fan fiction. Armchair GMs are never wrong, hindsight is always 20-20, and woulda-coulda-shoulda is a fools errand, I just wish folks would stop living in fear of the past. Cuz the future is looking pretty good from where I'm sitting.
