Jason McCourty: Panthers made NFL's biggest offseason move
Gerry Green replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I truly feel sad for those folks who are so afraid of the past, and all the scars associated with it, that they are incapable of allowing the excitement for the future to creep into their fandom. We are supposed to learn from the past, not fear it. The future is bright, whereas the past is dark. Leave the dark behind, and step into the light. With all the negativity over the last few years. You'd think folks would be anxious to grasp on to some excitement and some positivity? -
I know some of you seem to be having a bit of a difficult time dealing with the optimism going around. But man, can we at least wait until the actual games before we get to the negative stuff? I mean, right here, right now. There may be a handful of ppl that can't wait to see how they respond to adversity. The rest of us are just enjoying a process that appears to be working. To me, there are a lot more interesting things to look at. Position battles, who is showing out, who has grown from last year, what does the Offense and Defense look like, and so much more? Wanting to see how they react to get hit the first time? Not high on my list. But hey, everyone's different.

Bryce Young Scouted Frank Reich pre-draft
Gerry Green replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's twue, it's twue. lol As someone who has been on both sides of that fence. I can tell you is it easy to be excited when you're happy, and just as easy to be negative when you're not. Happy trumps not every time. -

You sound exactly like my brother in law. Everything he says is perfectly logical and sensible. Everything other people say, unless they agree with him of course, is irrational or just plain silly. And he, like you, cannot understand why ppl don't automatically agree with him. You cherry pick what you want, but we have been hearing positive things since the day Reich was hired. It's not just ONE sound bite. It's MONTHS of positive sound bites, and they just keep coming. Here's what you oh so reasonable ppl are missing. We are excited because for the first time in years, we have hope. Fans + Hope = Excitement. Now you can poo poo it all you want. But you are not going to get anyone to "Temper their Expectations". There is excitement in Pantherland. And the few of you reasonable ppl trying to temper that, sound arrogant and annoying. This is one of those topics that has no middle ground. You are either with us, or you are missing out. Edit to add; I realize @rayzor has pretty much shown you the door. But your stance is so rigid I couldn't resist throwing more shade at it/you. -
At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?

There are 2 things I hate in this world. Guest Hosts on Johnny Carson, and fans who tell other fans to "Temper their Expectations". You can "Temper your Expectations" til you're blue in the face. Nobody cares. But you can pound sand if you think you can tell me I need to "Manage my Expectations". Ah the interwebz. How entertaining thou art. -

Being controversial and a contrarian does not make you cool. It only makes you annoying, A single soundbite? We've heard nothing but praise from day 1 at Rookie Camp. Where you been? -
My biggest take away from all the videos lately? The lack of drops. I can only recall one so far. The kid just places the ball so well. The more I watch the better I feel. Or should I say the more excited I get?

Not to put to fine of a point on this. But...We did accomplish what we set out to do. Get our franchise QB. Chicago has no idea if what they set out to do is actually going to work. Although now that I think about it. We don't know if our franchise QB is going to actually work out either. So...Oh crap. Nevermind. -
Wow, I guess the Sportsball can be entertaining both on and off the field. lol

lol Just because you can think it, does not make it so. Fitty did not make this decision unilaterally. There were plenty of folks in that building that were behind the move. Do you plan on firing everyone that endorsed the trade? I know fan is short for fanatic, but c'mon man. -
Just riding your butt. It was one of those, "I thought it, so I said it" kinda deals. lol Side note, my nephew, and more than a few Huddlerz loves that; if he can think it, it can happen game. Man, he has a wild imagination for a 10 year old.

Soooo...You're not familiar with the WR depth chart. But, you do know we need to upgrade the unit. With a 31 year old WR who has missed half his games the last 2 years. Who wants a check, and won't play with a rook QB. That's a wing and a prayer style team building I tell ya what Edit to add; jk
-
Ah the Huddle. Where folks would rather overpay an almost 31 year old WR who has missed almost half the games the last 2 years. Instead of PFFs 11th rated Edge/ DE who just turned 25. Entertainment, thy name is Huddle.

Nothing concerning about the situation Bryce finds himself. And to call him a Star, yet not believe in his potential IS concerning.

You know it is perfectly acceptable for ppl not to agree with you. Also, why does it seem to bother you that there are fans that have real excitement, and true hope for this years team? One of the best Coaching Staffs in the league, upgraded Offensive weapons, up and coming DC with Dom Capers. AND the best QB in the draft. Seems like enough for fans to get excited over. Especially in our Division.

lol Dude, you take this way too seriously, You must work for Duke Energy. How's their plant doing?
-
You do realize that the way teams tend to play the best Dlineman? Run at him. Dang, I would have thought you of all ppl would know that. Burns has never had a running mate. Yet he is still one of the best Edges in the game. That seems like an accomplishment to me. But I'm a blue goggles wearing Panther fan. So, I don't know nothing.
