Wilks has said he has given MacAdoo full control of the Offense. You can't blame Wilks for calls MacAdoo is making. People are too quick to jump to conclusions. Like calling Wilks a Rivera, or a Fox clone. Why? Just because he is a Defensive minded guy? Seems short sighted to me. Let Wilks be Wilks, and let's see where it leads us.

You did forget 1. That win yesterday pretty much put a nail in the tank coffin. But yeah, what we saw yesterday was classic Playoff Football. Been a while since we've seen such good all-around play. Proud of the team, and Wilks. I will add. Penalties. We have got to get those under control.

How good is Brian Burns 2022 campaign?
Gerry Green replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
He can't win with some of these ppl. If he has a good game? It was only 1 game, he needs to bring more. If he has a bad game? He's trash. Some folks wanted those picks so bad they are willing to say anything to soothe their frayed nerves. -
So you are claiming some report is more valid than Christains' word? He said yesterday that he thought he would be a Panther forever. That he never thought he would be traded. I'mma go with Christain. Oh, and @mrcompletely11nuts. Here's another post you can poo. lol

The Huddle is so lucky to have you. What with the draft insights, the shoulds, woulda, couldas', and the fact checking we would surely be lost without you. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

An elite elite QB. Can you describe what that looks like? And how many of them are out there? And how in the bloody hell can we get one? Oh, and it's alright if you poo my posts. It reminds me of playing games with my 9 year old nephew. He's not allowed to swear, so he says poo instead. Kinda like you, but he is an actual child.

Oh noooo. I got Akers, and Ekler mixed up. The shame of it all.
-
And we made them look it.

If you read that post, you should have realized I was responding to a poster who asked what the big deal is about tanking. It was/is not how I look at things.

What happens when teams have to load the box to stop our run? That means man on man. Teams hate doing that. Zone is safer, and easier to disguise. Ti also opens up play action. Lots of good comes from being able to run the ball

I think it all comes down to the higher your pick, the better your chances. Which may be true in principle but is iffy at best in reality. If you like a guy, try and get him. Sooner or later, if you have a competent staff. You'll get your guy.

I've said earlier I believe we may be standing at ground zero for something big. With just a little luck... I really believe we are close. Lot's of interesting things gonna happen in the next 5 or so months.
-
No, probably not. But Defenses hate teams that can just pound you. It takes more out of them than does rushing the passer for instance. Sure, there will be times Sam will be asked to throw the ball. But he threw it 24 times today with no repercussions. With as much as we ran it. 24 passes seems like a lot.

The reality remains. What we saw today was Playoff style football. Not my job to make you see it. I can't make you understand it. Oh, and I truly do like how you give yourself so much credit. Like your one lone fact is such a victory. lol Your whole argument is "The last 3 SB winners". You offer nothing else. So I see no reason to continue this farce. Good day sir.

That's ok. I'm going to continue to believe that good teams, that want a Playoff run, need to be able to run the ball, play good to great D, and have a QB that doesn't give the game away. You can continue to believe that if you aren't throwing the ball all over the yard you are stuck in 1985.
-
So a guy who routinely scoffs at stats, wants to use stats?
-
Tampa Bay had Fournette. They had a very good ground game. The Rams had Ekler who had what? Almost 2000yds? KC had McMannis, or Mcsomething another good back. All had very good ground games. You don't want to be 1 dimensional in the Playoffs. It's just easier to Run to set up the pass, than to pass to set up the run. Just ask Rodgers.

Can Tepper find anyone better than Wilks?
Gerry Green replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
That why we create the OC Apprenticeship Program. The apprentice learns the O with the understanding the when the present OC leaves, he's the man. Then he hires his own apprentice. Rinse and repeat. We would never run out of OCs. lol -
Yeah, that it. When it comes to Playoff Football. You have to be able to run the ball. We have proven to be just fine in that area. You have to have a decent to great D. We have also proven to have that. All your QB has to do is hit a few passes, and not turn the ball over. That is Playoff Football. And that is the game we saw today.
-
And we turned those turnovers into 10 points. Teams that turn the ball over 3 times usually lose. And those are the types of games we used to lose. It was nice seeing us keep our cool.
-
Yeah, that play is in every teams arsenal now adays.
-
TBF, a lot of teams run that play now. We ran for over 200 yards. Sam added 120. And we had the ball for over 40 minutes. That right there is Playoff Football. Edit to add; Now I'm not saying we will make the Playoffs. I'm just saying that that is the style of play we are seeing.
-
It looks like Playoff Football. Don't know if it will happen this year, but man, it sure feels like the start of something big.
-
You know how you solve the "always losing our OC dilemma"? Always have an apprentice in waiting. He will know that when the current OC leaves, he steps right in. Then he hires his apprentice. Rinse and repeat. Wilks get to be HC, and we never run out of OCs.

It's amazing how many games are won or lost because of execution. I'll take the team that can execute in their sleep any time. F\Today, for the first time in a long while, I saw the Panthers play Playoff Football. It was cool to see.
