RIP Franco. As my dad was of course a Cowboys' fan, I remember being frustrated at that thought of the loss. Then exhilarated after that play. Man, football is a great game.

The “Maybe Not So Obvious” Elephant in the Room

People glean what that wish to see. That gives them free rein to throw shade. It's like High Noon in the Old West in here. -

I have not heard anyone else say this. So, take of that what you will. -

I gave you a beer. But it deserved more than that. It truly made me chuckle. Thanks for that. Happy Holidays to you and yours. -

Sorry bout that. I guess this board has me on more of an edge than I realized. I wasn't trying to be rude. Hence is what the wife uses when she wants to make a point. So I guess I stole it from her, and threw it at you. lol -

I truly have a hard time convincing myself that all these ppl that are already up in arms over losing. Will have the patience to wait another 2-3 years for those picks to turn into anything, if they ever do that is. Trading away one of your best players for a chance at getting better down the line. Meahwhile, you just made your team worse. Something wrong with that logic to me. -

Hence why I said their O is better than ours, but our D is better than theirs. Their D is improving. But it was at or near the bottom almost all year. So improving, but still susceptible to big plays, and long drives. -

It would be nice to have our full complement of CBs for this game. But like I mentioned earlier. Our D is better than theirs. However, their O is better than ours. It is going to be an interesting game for sure. -

Oh, I get it. The right coach can come in here and hit the ground running. Just continue building off what we have. That doesn't sound too difficult. Let the consultant pick a handful of candidates. Then let the interviews begin. Pick the guy who knows what we have, what he wants to do with it, and how he is going to go about getting it done. Bingo. -

They run mostly Cover 2 or Cover 3. They want to get pressure from the front 4. It's a stop the run on the way to the QB type rush. LBs are iffy, and the Secondary misses assignments all the time. It is getting better, but they were the worst to start with. -

The LIons D has been improving. But they are still susceptible to big plays, and giving up scores. Our D is better than theirs. Their O is better than ours. Even Steven. -

I was hoping for more of a collaborated effort. As long as Tepper is seen and not heard, we should be ok. -

I was going to say that with 3 weeks left, we could get some valuable evaluation time. But with the way this year is ending. Not sure we will get much of that. An honest offseason player evaluation must be high on the list. -

I would think that without some luck. We are looking at another 2 maybe even 3 years before we can celebrate. But I will add. That with everything that has to happen this offseason. It is going to be a bumpy ride. -

That's basically all I'm saying. This team is on the cusp. With a little luck. We can crest that hill and join the contenders club. -

I understand that a HC is going to be first on the agenda. Hopefullly followed by HC, Fitz and everybody involved in the process figuring out he QB position. Unlike you, I see a team that has a solid foundation. There is plenty for the new coach to work with. Sans a QB. -

I want a coach that will come in and Continue the culture Wilks has started. Not tear it down and take a year or more instilling his own culture. I think the next coach should be able to work with Fitz and his team to continue to build this team into a consistent winner. The core is there. Work together to finish the job. IF we ever get a QB -

Wilks Defense was good enough to get him a HC gig. So if you are saying he didn't deserve that, then you have to admit he was pretty much a Rooney hire, and set up to fail. Because he was pretty much underqualified to be a HC at that time. At this time. He has a young team believing in itself. With a ragtag team of QBs, and an OC who just doesn't seem to get it. I'm not saying I specifically want Wilks. But he wouldn't be the worst hire we . could make. -

See, I don't get this. IMO counting Zona against him is a little unfair. He was set up to fail. They wanted Kingsbury. So all we really have to go on is what he's done here. And to make any definitive statements now seems a tad disingenuous. He has a team with limitations. Maybe he is coaching that way to mitigate mistakes? There is a possibility that given a well-rounded team, with a competent OC, that he may coach in a different manner. If he is here next year. I hope he is given a QB, and a competent OC. IMO, that would be a team to reckon with. -

I have been thinking about this (I know, shocking) a lot. And the one thing I can think of that may ease your pain is that Tepper has the best FO around him since he arrived. I think a Consultant for the HC job is a must. But I also think that once you narrow the field. That is when the FO gets involved. As long as Tepper listens and rarely speaks, we just might make a good hire. My one true hope is that our next Coach, whether it be Wilks or not, is that that Coach be willing and able to hit the ground running. Wilks has started a nice culture, I want that next HC to continue that. Not waste a year or more starting his own. Happy Holidays to you and yours. -

You keep saying this is a "Bad football team". You do know that there are many, many ppl who ascribe to the notion that this is a pretty good young team, that only needs a quality QB, and an imaginative OC to compete. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
